Chapter 4. Kill people?

The bright forest of crystals shimmered and shined lighting up the huge cave. The soft sound of the water falling into the spring was peaceful and could lull anything or anyone to sleep. At the bottom of the cave a few meters away from the spring was bundle of dark black fur that could be seen curled up on top of some soft green grass. The fur went up and down as the creature breathed softly but if one looked closer they could see something that the creature was curling around. That something was breathing gently as it sleep peacefully in the creatures fur but was awakened by the sound that came from its stomach.

My eyes fluttered open as I felt My stomach growl at me. My hand gently pressed against my eyes and rubbed them trying to get more awake. I lifted My head from the soft fur that acted as a cushion for my head and I yawned softly as I looked around. My eyes widen though as I seen the spring and the bright light coming from the shimmering crystals. My heart rate started going though the roof.

I-I thought this was a dream!

My thoughts were interrupted by a loud yawn coming from behind me. I turned quickly and seen huge opened jaws that looked like they were about to bite down on me. I quickly put my arms up in front of me waiting for the beast to eat me whole but after a few seconds nothing happened. I slowly moved my arms and looked at the creature that was looking at me with tired blood red eyes. I could feel my fear rise as I looked at the red eyes of the beast. Though The more I looked at those eyes the more he felt comfortable. They didn't look threatening

But before my train of thought could go any farther the beast gently licked the top of My hair and ears making my hair stand up. I looked at the creature in confusion.

"Did... did you just lick me?"

My eyes widen when I seen the creature gently pressed its muzzle to My left cheek. My shaking hand gently went up and gently pets the beasts dark fur. I smiled as I gently moved my hand to the skull that rested on the beasts face. It was rough and full of scratches and claw marks.

They must have fought a lot to get those..

as I gently pets the beast my stomach roars at me again for food causing the beast to look at my stomach. I chuckled softly but I then pulled my hand away when the beast slowly gets up. The beast gently nuzzled my cheek then started to walk to the exit. I watched in confusion as the beast left the cave.

What's it doing?

I sighs as I looked down at the ground, but the sound of running water makes me look up towards it. I had forgotten that the spring was there, I slowly stood up on my still asleep legs and slowly walked over to the spring. I looked at my reflection then sighed softly. I kind of wish I could recognize myself but at the same time I was glad I got a second chance. I didn't have anyone important before I died, my father left when I was a baby and my mother wasn't exactly the best role model since she was either out drunk or having fun in the bedroom. I had to work for everything, I never got anything handed to him. Not even love...

The more I thought of what has happened the more sad I grew inside. I didn't do anything in my old life... I survived but I never lived. My eyes widen when I felt tears dripping down my face and fell into the water below. I brought my hand up and gently wiped my tears away, I wasn't going to waste this chance. Im going to find happiness... even if it's the last thing I do. I brought my hands together gently and cupped some water in my hands and splashed it in my face to try and get some of the dirt off. I wiped the water out of my eyes then sat back with my legs criss crossed while watching the water fall. It was beautiful, more beautiful than anything I seen in my old life. I sighed softly as my bored eyes continued to watch the water fall. I waited...

And waited..

And waited...

And waited till about an hour went by, I couldn't tell but it felt like it had been an hour. My eyes widened when realization hit me.

"Why am I even waiting.. it's gone so I can just leave!"

I exclaimed our loud, I stood up and dusted off my dirty rags and started towards the exit. As I walked I could feel the cold hard stone floor against my feet making me shiver lightly. It was warmer near the spring but as I crept towards the exit it got colder making me wrap my arms and tail around myself. I kept walking till I seen the light of the exit up ahead making me smile brightly and start to jog to the exit. The closer I got the brighter I smiled till I made it to the vines. I pushed my way through them and out into the sun. I put a hand up to cover my eyes as they were still adjusting to the harsh light coming from the sun. It was day break meaning I must have slept for over 12 hours! My eyes widen as I heard my stomach growl again.

"I need food.."

I put a hand gently over my stomach as I started to walk into the forest. It looked brighter and more colorful then the forests back in my old world and the trees towered above me. As I looked around, I didn't know any of these types of trees or plants they looked so... foreign? As I walked farther away from the cave I could smell something sweet making me change corse and start to follow the sweet smell. As I followed it I finally seen what the sweet smell was coming from. It was a red berry bush! A huge smile spread across my lips as I raced over to the berry bush. I grabbed a hand full of them and stuffed them in my mouth. The sweet taste me me melt in delight, they tasted so good! Dark red berry juice got all over my mouth and dripped down my chin and on my hands. It looked like... blood then again I didn't care at the moment but something in my gut was telling me not to eat those berries. I continued to plop berries in my mouth devouring them one by one. As I continued to devour all the blood red berries the bush had to offer, I heard a rustle come from a bush not to far away from me. My snapped over to the bush as I tried to wipe some of the juice from my mouth and chin but just made it spread across my cheek. My eyes widened as something tumbled out of the bush and in front of me. It was... a boy? The boy looked at me with wide green eyes, the green eyes boy had dark brown hair and was wearing old dirty clothes. They looked like they came from the some of the manga and anime's I used to watch. I did dress up as a anime kid on Halloween one time. The boy looked around 13 to maybe 15 years of age. The boy looked at Me with fear, I was confused at first but then noticed the boy was staring at the red juice on my face and hands. My eyes widened as I wiped my hands on the rags I had on his body. I looked up at the boy and held up my hands making the boy sit up and scramble away from me. Letting me see the cuts on his face, worry showed on my face as I seen blood drip from one of the cuts on his cheek.

"Whoa kid, calm down I'm not going to hurt you.."

The boy looked at me with a scared and confused look.

"A-aren't cha g-gonna rip m-me open a-and feast on m-ma blood!"

The boys voice shook as he watched Me closely. I shook my head softly.

"No, why did you think I was going to eat you?"

I was genuinely confused with the boys actions as I continued to try and wipe the juice from his mouth. The boys fear clouded his eyes and face as he stared at me with his back against a large tree.

"Y-you're kind kills h-humans."

I bet someone's confused...
