{ two }

we watched the car park in the school's parking lot. "I thought you said we'd meet at 5" I said, just remembering our small discussion over text last night. "I got the time mixed up.." Ali said, slightly embarrassed. "it doesn't matter, I'll just text my mom and tell her I'm going to your house now, she won't mind" I said as I pulled out my phone. I texted my mom real quick, and as expected, she didn't mind. we hopped into the car, sitting beside each other. I looked over at Ali, smiling.

we talked about random stuff on the car ride. like what happens after death, and whether or not there is an end to space, just we never reached it yet. after 10 minutes, we arrived at Ali's house. there was plenty of grass around, he lived near the woods, the house was a light grey color, it had three floors. I unbuckled and walked out the car, glad to be away from town. I watched Ali get out the car and we walked to his door along with his mother, the one who unlocked the door. I stepped inside and took off my boots and scarf. it was autumn, my favorite time of the year. I kept my hoodie on, it was my favorite one.

immediately me and Ali went upstairs to his bedroom. I walked inside, Ali behind me. his room was pretty messy, but i didn't mind, it smelled really nice, mostly because he liked spraying his mother's perfume in his room. he often got in trouble for that, but I always laughed at it. we layed down on his bed and watched TV for a while. I was really into it, while he was more laid back about it.

the movie ended, and we headed downstairs, we were both hungry. he convinced his mom to make grilled cheese, and we both ate it at the table. "your mom's grilled cheese is the best" I said, enjoying it. "I prefer store bought." Ali mentioned. I sighed. "you're boring" I said, joking "then why are you friends with me?" he got me there, I chuckled.

we brought our plates to the sink, and we heard his mother talking to us from the other room "why don't you go for a walk, it's nice out" I looked at Ali, loving the idea, but his face showed he didn't want to. "please? I'll give you a KitKat if you walk with me" i grinned, bribing him. "two" he pressed. "fine, but that's it." I said, making sure he wouldn't ask for three. "you act like a girl" Ali said, and I felt him nudge my arm. "how am I acting like a girl?" I answered, confused. "I just really like walks, it helps me escape from this fucked up world." I continued, looking at him again. "I just scroll on my phone" Ali shrugged. I did that too, but walks was another way I liked to escape from reality.

we stepped outside, the autumn breeze rustling the trees. "I don't want to walk for long, I'm tired" I heard him say as we started walking into the forest
