Planning Remnant

I watched as the two silver-eyed warriors went through rehab together to get back in shape. It has been a few weeks since they have been healed, and tomorrow is the day I get Raven and Salem's answers on whether or not they will help me deal with the Brother Gods. Aside from that, Team RWBY, PERN, and NALA have been working hard to get their teamwork in place. I have left them alone since this was necessary for them without my interference, but I can't wait to face them when they have the bare-bones minimum of teamwork in place as I could finally break a sweat in Combat Class, well, not really.

Regardless I am looking forward to seeing how things pan out for the year since canon is officially out the window. For now, I need to make the necessary plans for my extended trip through the multiverse so I can gain the strength needed to deal with the Brother Gods once and for all. I left Terra and Summer under the care of my nurse bots as I went back to Beacon, as this weekend is almost over. I open a portal to find myself at the dorms once more before entering my dorm room.

" I see you went off campus again."

Cinder, my roommate, commented as I went to my chair to sit down without saying anything, as I had no intention of getting close to her since she only viewed me as a possible pawn for her schemes. I took out my Scroll to browse through the CCTS to see if there was anything interesting happening locally. There was a bar fight involving students from Beacon... Yang. I could not think of anyone else that would cause a bar fight while attending Beacon, especially considering the images of the property damage.

I wryly smiled as I shook my head in amusement. I wonder if that was something she did with her team, except Ruby, of course, since she is too young to be entering bars. Some reports about the odd silence of the White Fang movement here in Vale; it's hardly surprising since I wiped out Adam and his little cult when Blake and Ilia left. A series of explosions happening throughout the city? I would ask the girls if they had anything to do with this later. As I browsed through the local news, I heard Cinder call out to me.

" Hey, don't you think it's about time?"

" For what?"

I asked back for context, and I noticed the fiery woman's eye twitch at my question as I looked up from my Scroll. She got up and walked toward me before answering.

" To get to know each other better, of course."

She looked me in the eyes as she got closer to my face while supporting herself as she leaned over on the arms of my chair. I flatly replied as I gave my explanations as to why.

" No, because our situation is ultimately a temporary thing since we are likely to get assigned to a team that loses a member or two for one reason or another, and I see no point."

" Maybe, maybe not; only time can tell, but we are roommates."

" We are JUST roommates, Cinder Fall."

I coldly stated, and I noticed she was starting to get annoyed with me for stonewalling her attempts to get to know me, as I knew she only wanted to manipulate me for her own ends. We stared at one another for several moments, and Cinder sighed as she said.

" Very well then, we do this the hard way."

She placed her hand at my throat, or at least tried to, and I said as I used Soul Archive on her again to see what she wanted at the moment as I grabbed her wrist.

" So you are finally showing your true colors. I was wondering how long it would take."

Her amber eye lit up slightly with Magic as she tried to burn my paw gripping her wrist but to no avail, as I was protecting it with Magic. I twisted her wrist and arm until she was forced to kneel. She glared at me and was getting ready to retaliate, and I told the fiery woman as I showed my bloodlust and killing intent with a grin.

" Give me a reason."

Cinder quickly calmed down and asked me with restrained fury.

" What is your problem with me?!"

" I consider myself a fairly good judge of character, and I have roughly guessed what sort of person you are, and I want nothing to do with you."

" Oh, and what sort of person am I in your eyes?"

The fiery woman asked with heavy sarcasm as she pulled her wrist away from my grip, as I let her go.

" Someone who will do anything to get what they want regardless of who you have to hurt to get it."

She showed a brief moment of surprise at how accurate I was before schooling her expression. Cinder glared at me and asked.

" Is that all?"

" That's all that I care about, so my suggestion is this, you mind your business, and I mind mine."

The fiery woman rubbed her wrist and eyed me with hidden intent before saying.

" I can work with that."

She went to lie on her bed, and we comfortably ignored each other until night came, and we slept.

Cinder was not happy; she wanted to get her roommate Silva Branwen in line to assert her authority to improve her chances of being made a leader of a team that would lose a member, one way or another. She knew from her training with Salem that Ozpin always kept his eyes open for leadership qualities that would prove useful to him. A pawn to control other pawns was his preferred method of influence.

The fiery woman showered as her roommate was already gone when she got up this morning. Yesterday was supposed to be easy, give a show of strength and power, then get the seemingly mild manner and gentle giant under her heel. While Silva clearly had impressive combat ability and was quite social, considering the number of people he regularly interacted with on different teams. She had no indications of him being aggressive outside of fighting, as he just shrugged off any insults and evaded any attempts of bullying him by the more racist students.

A chill went down Cinder's spine as she recalled the snow leopard man's bloodlust and killing intent. She was no stranger to such things, thanks to her training under Salem, but the fact he had a very noticeable amount, bothered her. That was not something a normal person could cultivate, and even aside from more extreme Huntsmen/Huntresses families that blood their children at some point before attending one of the academies, the amount was suffocating to her. A rarity and a terrifying one at that, she needs more information.

The fiery woman made plans to get in touch with Vale's underbelly to access the extensive grapevine under the Xiong crime family to get a clearer idea of who she was dealing with.

Another boring school day was over, and I went to see Raven first about going to gain more power from another world. A quick portal over to my home at the more wild parts of Anima outside of the kingdom of Mistral and I found the former bandit chief sharpening her sword. She noticed me and asked.

" Has it been a month already?"

" Yes, and what are your thoughts?"

Raven stopped sharpening her weapon and said, after a few moments of silence.

" If you truly intend to do this, then I am in."

" Good, I have two paths in mind for you. One is to get rid of the Maiden's power and gain your own Magic. The other is a more... Martial path with a lot of chances to gain strength and unique abilities."

" Why do I need to give up the Maiden's power?"

At her question, I explained.

" To put it simply, it's technically not a power that is exclusively yours, so there is a decent chance of running into issues in whatever path you wish to follow to gain more power. However, you will gain strength that will far surpass the Four Maiden, so there are no real worries about getting weaker."

The former bandit processed what I said for a few minutes and then said.

" Very well then, I will give up the Maiden's powers, and I want to take this... Martial path you suggested."

" Good. I will explain in detail about the world you are going to and what to do there."

I spent an hour telling her everything I knew through peeking at parallel timelines of the world, plus my own knowledge that came from anime and manga. I will be keeping that source quiet to avoid giving any people an existential crisis. I helped expel the Spring Maiden's power from Raven before sending her to the world of her choice. She will have a lot of chances to become powerful, but she has to be careful as there are some ridiculous enemies there that would even give me a headache, but the point in time I am sending her to should be manageable with her current strength. I will check on her periodically.

Now for Salem. I open a portal to find the witch with her hair down, brushing it in her bedroom. She looked at me through the mirror and said.

" I was wondering when you will appear, Silva."

" Are you up for the task ahead?"

" Before that, I have a question."

I gestured for her to ask away, and her question was.

" Is it possible for me to die in these other universes?"

" Yes, with the right world and power system, you can finally die if you still want to."

I was transparent with Salem, as I did consider the possibility of her asking this very question. The witch sets aside her brush as she looks in the mirror with longing and another emotion I can't identify right now. She closes her eyes and then sighs as she says.

" I won't be seeking my death just yet, Silva, as I do want to pay back the Brothers for EVERYTHING that has happened because of them. I also want to have a long talk with Ozma after they are dead, and only then will I start to consider seeking my final resting place, so don't worry; you will have my help in your endeavor."

" I understand; I will explain the primary world I have in mind for you."

I told her what I knew, and she looked at me with disbelief at what I told her.

" Are you serious?"

She asked incredulously, not that I blame her. The world I am sending her to is a headache with various power systems and the ridiculousness of an arguably higher order than the one I sent Raven to. Still, it is full of easy-to-acquire power-ups that would be undoubtedly very potent against the Brothers. I sighed as I answered her.

" As serious as a heart attack, unfortunately, but ignoring certain pains of that universe, there is a lot to gain, and with my foreknowledge of the future of that world, you can earn a lot."

" Of that, I have no doubt, but still, never in my long life have I heard of such a ridiculous way to gain power, but I guess if you are passionate enough about something, regardless of how useless, you can turn it into a talent."

After going over a few more details on what to do and what not to do in that universe, I sent her over with a prayer in my heart that she would be alright. I plan to start my own journey for power after the school year is over and during winter break takes place. I hope those two will be alright.
