In the sunlight

A few days later.

"Curtis, do you need anything?" asked Annie as she looked at Curtis and she smiled, he was getting better day by day, he no longer looked pale, and he looked more radiant, which was a relief to Annie, it would seem that the medicine that Ivor and Alina made for Curtis was really working.

"No, I am just fine Annie" replied Curtis.

"How do you feel?" asked Annie.

"Better than I have in a long time" replied Curtis as Annie smiled, she was relieved that he was, she too could see the difference, the only problem was that he still could not move, at first Annie was worried about that, but Ivor told her that it was only a minor side effect of the medicine that he made for Curtis, and that it would usually not last for more than a few hours, but because of the kind of being Curtis was, the paralysis would last for longer in his body, but once it passed, he would feel a hundred times better.

"Hi Annie, Hi Curtis" said Alina as she walked into the room with a smile.

"Hi Alina" said Annie as she smiled and she looked at Alina.

"Curtis, how do you feel today?" asked Alina as she looked at Curtis and she smiled.

"Good" replied Curtis as it annoyed him that everyone kept on asking him that question, but he could understand why they would do that, so he just bore with it.

"That's nice, I am happy that you feel good, here, I got you some fresh fruit, some oranges, and apples, they will help you replenish your strength" said Alina as she showed Curtis and Annie the basket of fruits that she had with her.

"Thank you Alina" said Curtis.

"You are welcome" said Alina as she smiled.

"Oh Annie, outside, it so wonderful, so warm and bright, and dry, it has not rained in a few days now, and outside is just wonderful" said Alina as she looked at Annie.

"I can just imagine that" said Annie as she smiled.

"That sounds so nice" said Annie.

"Oh it is, Annie, why don't you go outside? It will do you some good" said Alina as Annie shook her head.

"Aww but why not?" asked Alina as she frowned.

"Why won't you go outside Annie?" asked Curtis.

"If I go out, who will look after you Curtis? No, I want to stay here" said Annie as she shook her head.

Curtis looked at Annie, she really did not want him to be left alone, for even a second, all throughout these past few days, she had just stayed here by his side, not moving at all.

"Annie, you have watched me enough, go out, it will do you some good" said Curtis as he did not like the fact that Annie was only caring about him and not herself.

"No, I don't want to leave you alone" said Annie.

"He won't be alone Annie, I will watch him for you" said Alina as she smiled and Annie looked at her.

"You will?" asked Annie in surprise.

"Yes, of course I will, you need to relax, take a break, go out and bask In the warm sunlight, it will do you some good, you have been cooped up in this room for a long time" said Alina as she smiled.

"No, I don't want to bother you Alina" said Annie as she shook her head.

"You are not bothering me at all, come on go on, I got you, Curtis will be fine with me, right Curtis?" asked Alina as she looked at Curtis.

"Right, Alina is right, Annie I will be fine, go out for once" said Curtis as he looked at Annie and he smiled as Annie sighed, she knew that the both of them would keep on insisting and well, she did want to go out in the sunlight.

"Alright fine, but only for a little while, then I am coming right back here" said Annie.

"No worries Annie, you don't need to worry at all, Curtis is in safe hands, very safe hands" said Alina as she smiled and Annie smiled at her as she stood up.

"Fine, alright, I will be right back" said Annie as she smiled and Curtis smiled at her as she walked out of the room.

"Hey, it's just you and me now" said Alina as she looked at Curtis.

"Mhmm" said Curtis as he nodded his head.

"So do you want me to peel some oranges for you? They are really sweet" said Alina as she smiled.

"Alright, if you want to" said Curtis.

"Yayy" said Alina as she smiled and she got an orange from the basket.

Annie walked out the front door as she felt the warm rays of the sun on her face and hands for the first time in such a long time, it felt so good, the sun was so warm, Alina was right, it did make her feel better.

It had been raining for days now, and when it finally stopped, the sun shone very brightly.

"Hey Annie" said Ollie as he caught sight of Annie and he ran straight for her.

"Hi" said Annie as she smiled.

"What are you doing outside?" asked Ollie as Matt walked to where they were.

"Well Alina and Curtis convinced me to go out today" said Annie as she smiled.

"I am glad that they did, you have been inside for too long" said Matt as he smiled and Annie smiled at him.

"So what are you guys doing outside?" asked Annie as she smiled.

"Well nothing much, just watching Ivor practicing, come on" said Ollie as he held Annie's hand and he dragged her after him.

"Okay?" said Annie as she did not know why Ollie was so excited, he made it sound as if she had been isolated from them for so long.

Matt just laughed as he shook his head, Ollie could be like a child sometimes, he found it hard to believe that he was actually the oldest out of all of them, he didn't act that way most of the time.

"See, the way he hits all his targets accurately is so cool" said Ollie as he brought Annie to where Ivor was practicing as he let go of her hand.

"Yes, that is true" said Annie as she smiled, she found archery cool, something that she would want to learn.

Ivor had finished shooting his last shot, when he turned around and he saw Annie standing there with Ollie and Matt as they watched him, he was surprised to see her outside.

"Annie, you are outside?" asked Ivor.

"Oh ahh, yes, Alina said that she would watch Curtis for me" said Annie as she smiled and Ivor nodded his head, now that made more sense.

"Oh hi everyone" said Alina as she smiled and she ran to where they all were.

"Alina?" asked Annie in surprise.

"Yes hi" said Alina as she smiled.

"If you are here, then who is looking after Curtis?" asked Annie in worry.

"Don't worry Annie, Maddie said that she would look after him, he's in safe hands" said Alina as she smiled and Annie sighed in relief.

"I remembered that I forgot to put my bow and arrows away, so I quickly came here to get there, here they are" said Alina as she picked them from off the ground.

"Alina, you are always so careless with your things" said Ivor as he sighed.

"Sorry master" said Alina as she laughed sheepishly and Ivor shook his head.

"Oh Master, I wanted to see you practice, of course you are the best of the best in archery" said Alina as she smiled and Ivor shook his head, her flattery did not move him at all.

"Don't be careless with your things again" said Ivor.

"Yes Master, I won't" said Alina as she nodded her head and she smiled as Ivor sighed.

"Oh Annie, how about you practice with my bow again like last time?" asked Alina as she looked at Annie with a smile.

"Oh, no, no" said Annie as she smiled and she shook her head.

"Why not?" asked Alina.

"She can use a bow?" asked Ivor as he looked at Alina.

"Yes she can master, and she is very, very good, she's a natural archer" said Alina as she looked at Ivor and she smiled.

"No, no, I am not that good, really" said Annie as she shook her head.

"Oh come on Annie you are, didn't you say that your found Archery cool?" asked Alina.

"Well yes… I do but…" said Annie as she was cut off by Alina.

"Master, she is very good, how about you teach her, that would be fun" said Alina as she looked at Ivor excitedly.

"No, you don't have to do that I…" said Annie as she shook her head, Alina was going way too fast.

"Oh come on Annie, it would be fun for you to pick up a new skill" said Ollie as he smiled and Annie looked at him.

"I agree, it will be fun, and you are good at it already aren't you?" asked Matt as he smiled and Annie shook her head.

"I am not that good, besides, I don't think that Ivor would want to teach me" said Annie.

"I can teach you if you want to" said Ivor as they all turned to look at him as Alina smiled happily.

"You will??" asked Annie in disbelief.

"Mhmm" replied Ivor.

"But I don't want to disturb you" said Annie.

"You won't be disturbing me at all" said Ivor.

"Oh come on Annie, my master is the best teacher ever" said Alina as Annie looked at her, and then at Ollie and Matt, they really wanted her to do this.

"Well… okay… if it's no bother" said Annie.

"Yayyy" said Alina as she laughed.

"This is going to be fun, trust me" said Alina as she smiled and Annie smiled.

"Well, well I guess that we are stuck together seeing as everyone has left to have fun" said Maddie as she looked at Curtis.

"Very funny Maddie, very funny" said Curtis as Maddie smiled at him in annoyance.

"Tell me Maddie, how was Annie when I got a seizure?" asked Curtis as Maddie sighed.

"Well very bad, she was so worried, and panicked, and we all tried to calm her down, it worked for a while" said Maddie.

"Hmm" said Curtis as he did not like it when Annie got like that.

"Gosh relax Curtis, I told Annie that you were way too annoying to die, and that you would be okay" said Maddie as Curtis laughed.

"You really thought that I was going to die?" asked Curtis as he laughed.

"Hey, hey don't misunderstand me, I said that you were too annoying to die, and you are here aren't you?" asked Maddie as she laughed.

"Thank you Maddie" said Curtis as he smiled.

"You are welcome, you know that I got you, especially when it comes to Annie" said Maddie as she smiled.

"Now you need to focus on getting better Curtis" said Maddie.

"I will Maddie, I will" said Curtis as he smiled at her.
