Frightening Skill

( A/N : Anthony's age is the same with George. 27y/o. )

"May I know the name of this beautiful lady here?" Anthony faced Eliza who was frowning.

Vernard also narrowed his eyes at Anthony. He was a little surprised when he notice his level. Such a talented brat at the young age almost on par with him in level. He then look at calm Ban beside him and he shook his head inside. He cannot fathom what level was Ban at now but he had a hunch that Ban was far more powerful than yesterday. He really wonder how could Ban increase his strength within a short period of time.

Eliza was silent as she hid behind Ban. She didn't like the attitude of Anthony. The guy attack her fellow soldiers and even cursed out loud. She was planning in her mind that if Anthony comes closer to her, she will bust his nuts really hard.

Anthony now finally notice Ban after Eliza hid in his behind. He felt Ban was looking at him like he was a clown. He can sense a mockery and disdain deep within Ban's eyes. Anthony suddenly felt ticked by the gaze of the guy in fron of him but he still maintain his gentle expression.

"I don't think she can guide you with the investigation. You can choose someone else as long as they are willing."

Vernard wave his hand denying Anthony's request.

"General was right. She's not free to guide you." Ban said indifferently.

Vernard had a glint in his eyes while squinting his eyes to Ban.

"Who are you?" Anthony raise his brow at Ban.

Ban smiled but he didn't respond to the guy who was jumping around like the comedian he saw on TV named Mr. Been.

"Ahem* You see, they are partners. Both of them were Military instructors. This young lady here is his assistant. They have a hectic schedule and very busy training the soldiers. They were quite close to each other and doesn't want to separate even for a minute. They even share a room in the barracks. Even sharing their toothbrush...."

Vernard keep blabbering his mouth nonstop while Ban wanted to roll his eyes.

"Oh.. So that's how it is." Anthony twitch his face upon hearing Vernard's explanation.

Eliza was reddening her face while being confused. She look at her grandfather with a question in her eyes but the latter avoided her gaze.

Anthony walk in front of Ban and prepared a handshake "Nice to meet you my friend. Although we only need one soldier, I can make an exception and take both you and your partner to guide us around. It's only for three days." He put a gentlest smile he could as he glance at Eliza. He still insisted on taking Eliza as his guide. He will ditch Ban later in the middle of the investigation process. A puny Military instructor was nothing in his eyes. The most important right now is how to get this beauty into his team.

Anthony likes beautiful women. Seeing Eliza was so gorgeous that even the women in his team paled in comparison to her. But what excite him the most was robbing beauties in front of their partners or Divergent ones. He felt the achievement welled up in his soul everytime he robbed beauties. The three women beside him were the example. He only need to show his background and how talented he was within his peers, the beauties would flock to his side. And Eliza was qualified in all of his criteria since he could sense that she was also a Divergent.

Anthony subconsciously lick his lips with a flash in his eyes. He felt a scorn looking at Ban without a feeling of aura in his body. This task was so easy for him.

Ban was silent for a few seconds but looking at Anthony's expression, he sighed inside 'Another stup*d dumb*ss'. He already guess what this guy was up to.

Ban raise his hand for the handshake.

"I'm Ban Rocks and this is my partner, Eliza Mist. Nice to meet you too. However, we still decline the request."

Anthony was smiling ear to ear and he silently produce a lightning shock through Ban's hand. He was expecting a great show after this.

After a few seconds, Anthony was left confused. The show that he wanted to happen never came instead, he look at the indifferent Ban in front of him. He felt something was not right.

Suddenly, Anthony felt like the lighning element inside his body became wild and he couldn't control it in time.

*Crackle*

Anthony's body was surrounded by chains of silver lighning then they gradually envelope Ban very fast.

"Kyaaa!"

Eliza was held by Vernard as they back a few meters away.

Vernard has a frowning expression. His face was turning livid every second.

Everybody also distance themselves remaining Ban and Anthony in the middle while handshaking each other.

Ban raise his brow in surprise but he was cheering inside. He found a new discovery or rather, testing if his technique really works.

Anthony was even more confused and he back away immediately. He felt his lightning energy was getting sapped away like a deflated balloon.

Ban also pretended to stagger backwards while clutching his wrist with a frown. He merrily examined his body inside in a flash before returning into alert mode in case someone might sneak attack on him.

Ban used his Elemental Manipulation Canon on Anthony. This technique has a feature that can absorb somebody's elemental energies to replenish his own. It also improve the quality of the elements he can absorb. The technique automatically convert the elements to make it his own. Although, the elements he absorb from others cannot make him stronger, it was still enough as a good fuel for him.

Ban measured his elemental energies after he leveled up to 6th Order and found out that his elemental energies was only in the 3th Order. Now that he absorb Anthony's lightning energy, his lightning element replenished by quite a bit making it gone up almost in the 5th Order.

Ban already guessed Anthony's level the moment he sensed him from Vernard's office. Anthony was probably at 6th Order Elemental Divergent and Ban took 99% of his lightning elements away in a flash.

The Elemental Manipulation Canon has another uses, after taking the elements of the target, the target might feel he was just drained but in truth, his level regressed back depending how much the user absorbed. In Anthony's case, his level of lightning element regressed back to zero while retaining in the 6th Order. As a result, he became mortal once again. If he needed to gain his lightning elements back to his previous level, he needed to practice and absorb lightning element for years.

Ban click his tongue inside 'What a frightening technique.'

"Mr. James, what's the meaning of your actions?! You have already assaulted my soldiers and now you have the guts to attack another one in front of me?! I think you really don't put this old man in your eyes!" Vernard was planning to capture Anthony and wanted to imprison him in the camp. He want to ask the Special Abilities Bureau to give him an explanation by sending a wild brat in his camp.

"Wait... I am fine. Just a minor internal injury." Ban wave his hand and told Vernard.

"Brother Ban!" Eliza approach Ban with a worried face. She tried to touch him but a spark of lightning flickered around Ban. She gritted her teeth and touch Ban's arm. Surprisingly, she didn't get electricuted but ther was a numb feeling in her hands like the sparks were tickling her hands.

Vernard raise his brows and inquire Ban through eye contact. He didn't believe Ban would be injured to such a state. Seeing Ban stopped him, Vernard relaxed his body.

Ban wanted to use Telepathy but he resisted and only nodded his head in confirmation. There was a hidden message in his eyes and Vernard understood it a little.

"Get out of here! And don't come back again! You brats are now prohibited to enter this camp again. I will contact the Bureau myself and explain the matter regarding your action." Vernard decisively declared glaring at Anthony's team.

"I- " Anthony wanted to say something but he suddenly felt dizzy and staggered.

One of the twins supported Anthony and led him back to the car.

"I'm sorry for disturbing and causing you guys inconvenience. We will be heading back now."

The elegant looking woman bow a little and also went back to their car. Before the car starts, she glance deeply at Ban and she closed the door.

"What happen young man? Why did you stop me from subduing him?"

Vernard inquired Ban with a frown.

Ban shrug his shoulder and patted the non existent dust in his body. He was like he never got injured in the first place. He replied "It's fine. I just gave that guy a surprising gift that he wouldn't forget throughout his entire life." He smirk and didn't explain further.

Vernard wanted to say something but words didn't form in his mind.

Eliza even look at Ban in deep curiosity. She wanted to pester him about what gift was he talking about. She look at the mysterious Ban in front of her. She was itching to uncover his secrets one by one.

*Brrrr* *Brrrrr*

Ban pick up his phone and saw it was John calling him.

"What's up?"

John said with a hint of excitement in his voice "Nothing really Brother Whiss. I just want to remind you of your first match tonight. I have everything prepared. I also want to bet in your match."

"Oh? Okay.. Pick me up around 7 in the military camp in this city later." Ban replied.

John said "Got it Brother. I'll go ready myself now."

Ban hang up the call.

Vernard on the side marveled "What a freakish phone you have there young man. It didn't even malfunctioned after you got electrified by that brat earlier."

Ban chuckle and shrug his shoulder "It has a lightning resistance." He made some bullshit and continued "Right.. Do you have a mask? Can I borrow one?"

"A gas mask Brother? We have lots of mask in the camp. You can pick anything you like." Eliza replied innocently.

*Pffft*

Ban didn't know wether to laugh or cry. He resisted to pinch this woman's cute face. He pick up his phone and showed her the mask he needed.

"Ohh. That kind of mask." Eliza redden her cheeks and cheerfully said "I have a mask that shaped just like this Brother. You can have it. But why do you need a mask Brother Ban?" She look curiously at Ban.

"Oh.. Nothing really, I have a fight to attend and I needed a mask for identity protection." Ban casually replied.

Vernard widen his eyes and ask "Is it that Arena young man?"

Ban nodded.

Eliza was confused and ask "You have a fight Brother? Can I come and watch? Please... Pleaase.." She look at Ban with puppy eyes.

"Errr..." Ban look at Vernard.

Vernard glowed his eyes once again and laugh out loud "HAHA! Of course you can take her with you. Why are you asking for an obvious answer? Go... I won't interfere with your date anymore." Vernard went back with a loud laughter resounding in the whole camp. His voice had a tint of happiness to it. He already trust Ban's strength and Ban can protect his granddaughter in his intuition.

Ban twitch his lips feeling at a loss. He wanted Vernard to forbid Eliza to go to such a place but the latter misunderstood his intention.

Eliza blush hearing her grandfather's words. But she felt quite happy about it.

"Come, Brother Ban. I'll pass the mask that is in my room." She invited Ban with a reddening face.

...

In the living room...

Ban was sitting in a sofa.

Ban twitch his lips looking at the pair of mask in his hands.

He complained in his mind.
