Well, you see, it all started when Noah woke up from his long dream. It was a sunny day at Kamar-Taj; the birds were chirping happily, and the air was crisp and clear. Noah lay in his bed, staring at the ceiling, pondering the vivid dream he had just experienced.
"So that's how my life looked like before i was imprisoned?"
He slowly sat up, stretching his arms and cracking his neck. His eyes, still heavy with sleep, scanned the room briefly before he got up and walked toward the window. Opening it, he felt the fresh morning breeze on his face. He took a cigarette from neerbay table with his tail and lit it, and then took a long, satisfying inhale.
As he enjoyed his smoke, a black cat emerged from under his bed, its bright eyes were full with sleep. The cat walked up to him and meowed a few times, seeking his attention.
Noah smiled and patted the cat with his free hand. With a casual wave of his finger, a bowl filled with high-class tuna floated gracefully from the kitchen and landed gently in front of the cat.
Num
Nom
Num
Nom
The cat eagerly began devouring the tuna, eating as if it hadn't had a meal in days.
"Damn it, Noche, if someone else saw you now, they'd think I'm starving you, you gluttonous little thing," Noah said.
He reached out to pat her again, but before he could, Noche turned her head and opened her maw like tentacle mouth while letting out screeches like that of a thousand demons.
"Calm down, you stupid rabid alien cat. I'm not going to steal your food again! Last time, I only wanted to see what it tasted like—I didn't mean to eat all of it in one go!"
Noah tapped her lightly on the head with his tail, causing the poor cat to feel disoriented for a second and small birds began circling around her head.
Hissss!!
Noche hissed at him for a moment, then pushed her bowl to the corner of the room and continued eating her food as if there was no tomorrow.
Noah shook his head lightly in disbelief and then continued smoking, watching the cat with a calm expression. Yet inside, his mind still drifted through the remnants of his dream.
The voices of his fellow students around him.
The so-called fight he had with his best friend over things they liked.
The sound of his dear mother commanding him on what to get from the store.
The sunset casting its last light upon the neighborhood as he walked back to his parents' house.
So many emotions are within his heart right now. Some he knows, and many he doesn't.
But with every passing moment and every passing dream, he can feel something within him change.
Is it his soul? Is it his mind? He really doesn't know.
But one thing is certain—his body feels different, less stiff, less chaotic. More in control.
Clink.
A metallic sound brought him back from deep thought. He looked in the direction of the noise just to see Noche lying on her back with a face full of bliss, whiskers smeared with small chunks of tuna, while her bowl lay knocked upside down beside her.
Noah chuckled lightly and walked from the window to the cat. He lifted Noche with both arms, raising her high over his head and while the cigarette still in his mouth, he grinned and said,
"What should I do with you, you little rascal?"
"Also how is it that you almost look exactly like my old cat? And how is it that i gave you the same name as her even began recovering my old memories?"
Noah's question hung in the air, unanswered. Noche was already in a food coma, her sleep bubbles expanding and contracting with each breath.
"I swear to Shenron, why can't you be like other cats? Is it too much to ask for you to act cute and nice from time to time, you little rascal?"
Noah muttered as he made his way to the bed. He gently placed Noche on the soft mattress. She then opened one eye slightly,
her bright eye meeting his for a brief moment, and let out a small, contented meow. Then, with a satisfied sigh, she nestled into the blankets and drifted back to sleep, leaving Noah to shake his head with a slight smile.
"Wait a second!!"
Noah froze in place, suddenly realizing something. He reached up with his right hand and placed his palm over his mouth.
For a few moments, he stood still, his mind racing as he noticed a small but important change within himself.
"Why in the fuck am I smiling so much? I understand something changed after I woke up, but why the fuck do I feel so mellow? Like some kind of Buddhist monk who found peace with himself?"
"I mean, sure, I'm trying to reclaim my old memories and such, but I never intended to start living like a human again. That chapter of my life is long gone, and I never want to live that boring life ever again!"
The idea struck Noah as creepy and made him feel like he might puke.
The thought of becoming so human and bored made his stomach turn upside down.
"Hey Psyche, you here? I wanna talk to you about something,"
Noah exclaimed in his head, but instead of the grumpy voice answering him, all he heard back was silence.
"Psyche?"
Silence again.
"Ha, ha, very funny. How about you stop fooling around and come out from wherever you're hiding?"
...
"Oh, we're doing this now? Fuck you too, dude. I never liked talking to you anyway!"
...
"Oh look, I'm going to go super saiyan blue and lose control ooooooooooooooooooo," Noah said while fake power-up posing.
....
"Was I crazy all that time? Was I talking to myself and making voices inside my head? Was I a schizophrenic all this time? No, I'm too strong to be one!"
"Then where the hell is that good-for-nothing freeloader?"
Noah continued calling out for Psyche until he heard a light knock on his door.
Knock
Knock
Noah said, "Come in."
A student of Kamar-Taj walked in, visibly afraid and shivering.
Noah's bad reputation, earned from fighting with some of the masters and returning from missions drenched completely in blood from head to toe while holding whatever left of his enemies made almost everyone scared to approach him.
Even some of the masters found it difficult to interact with him. That's why this poor student had been pushed by a master to deliver a message to Noah.
"Uh, M-Master Noah," the student stammered, his voice trembling, "The Ancient One... she requests your presence in her study."
Noah remained silent for a moment, his broad back full of muscles was the only thing the student could see, than finally, he said,
"I'll be there. Thank you for telling me."
The student froze in place, his jaw dropping in shock. Did he hear that right? Did the master with the worst reputation and the crass personality just thank him? Was he so afraid that he was imagining things?
Seeing the student still standing there with a bewildered expression, Noah scowled and pointed at the door. "What the hell are you gawking at? Leave before I break your spine in two, you little shit."
The student snapped back to reality, bowed hastily, and hurried out of the room. He couldn't wait to tell everyone that Master Noah had said "thank you" of all things!
"Some people has no shame nowadays i swear" Noah then walked to a nearby mirror and with a poof , his casual attire transformed from what he wore to the uniforme that every master of Kamar-Taj wear.
" Why does The ancient one want to see me anyway?"
"I don't remember doing anything major lately . . . . . . . . . . "
Out of nowhere a flash back to the fight he had with Captain marvel and the chaos he unleash upon earth began playing inside his head as it was movie.
"uh oh..."
Gulp
"You know, even if i lost myself in the heat of battle and went a little overboard she wouldn't do anything drastic as a punishment right?
...
"Right?
Few minutes later...
"Master Noah, i hereby suspend you and strip you from your rank as a master of the mystic arts!!"
The ancient one declared.
