CHAPTER 9 - I CAN LEARN SWORDFIGHTING?? 3

Looking at Nate with squinted eyes, he said

" Are you trying to tease me?? Your father will crucify me the moment I step on his compound."

Nate chuckled "Yh... That, he definitely would do without hesitation" Nate said nodding his head. He was imagining the look on his father's face if Little god should follow him to their house now. It was going to be very interesting.

" But you won't be learning from my father," Nate said with a wide smile on his face, and his eyes sparkling with mischief.

Lucian looked at Nate with uncertainty, nothing good ever came out of this boy's mouth when he sounded that way. Although he could instantly read his thoughts and know what he was up to, he didn't want to. He promised himself he would not use his ability on the people he cared about. He wanted to be as human as possible with them and not invade their privacy all the time. Initially, he couldn't control that ability. He would just subconsciously hear every thought and it always took a toll on him. He could feel their emotions and pain, and it sometimes felt like they were his.

That was until Raphael came into his head, and taught him how to control those abilities. Now he would only read if he wanted to. And besides, he would rather go out and read the minds of passersby than venture into reading Nate's thoughts. He didn't want to mess his day up.

Luckily his mother had gone to clean and wash the bowls in the kitchen. He could let Nate spill out whatever nonsense he had in his head.

"Whom do I learn from then, the town folks? None of them want me on their compounds either." Lucian scoffed.

Nate laughed. " little god, let me ask, did you ever massacre this town folks in your past life? their hatred toward you is starting to look impressive. " Nate said trying to suppress his laughter.

Lucian glared at him and he burst into laughter.

"Alright...alright here it is, you're going to learn your swordsmanship from me," Nate said like there was no room for argument

" huh.." Lucian blurted out staring at him speechlessly. He knew it. Nothing good was going to come out of Nate's mouth. Learn swordsmanship from him?? He might as well start counting the stars in the sky at night, at least it would be beneficial to mankind if they knew the total number of stars above their heads rather than learn swordsmanship from Nate. For God's sake, he just lazily started learning it yesterday.

"What? Stunned by my incredible idea?" Nate said, his facial expression saying ' Friend, what would you do without me?'

"Get lost! What could you have possibly learned in one day that could help me" Lucian shot back. He was glad he didn't waste his ability to read his thoughts.

"Wait, let me explain, I don't mean just one day. I would come and practice with you every single skill that I learn from my dad every day. Besides, if I am seriously going to learn swordsmanship, it's only going to be because I want to fight alongside my best friend. Haven't you always wanted to travel around? To find out exactly who you are? I want us to do it together. If you're not learning then am not learning either. "

Nate said this time with all seriousness.

Lucian looked at Nate feeling warm inside. Aside from his mother and grandmother, he thought there would be no one else willing to stand strongly beside him, but today he realized he was wrong, there was also his best friend, Nate. He could tell just by looking at him that he was being real.

'Wow, I thought your little friend was all about food, looks like his brain isn't filled with just ingredients for making food only. Am starting to like him' Raphael's voice suddenly rang in his head. Lucian's lip twitched. He had almost forgotten there was another annoying being living in his head.

' You know what, you both are alike' Lucian said to Raphael.

'little lass you dare compare 'the almighty' me to your little friend? No matter how annoying I am, I am surely not on his level. ' Raphael scoffed.

' So you finally agree you're annoying ' Lucian said with a smirk.

'.....'

Did the little lass just trick him?
