CHAPTER 7 _ I CAN LEARN SWORDFIGHTING?? 1

Anna came back from the kitchen and placed a bowl of rice before Nate.

" Thank you, favorite aunt, and it smells so delicious. Aunt Ann, you're the best. Little god must learn from you." Nate said and turned to look at Lucian with a wise old man's facial expression, pointing and shaking his index finger at him.

"Little god, you must learn from your mother. "

Lucian's lip twitched. To be honest, he didn't know how he managed to score himself such a friend.

Nate dug straight into his food not bothering about anything else. Currently, the most important thing was the food sitting right in front of him. Nothing else mattered.

From the way Nate ate, it felt as if he had just been brought back from the desert.

" Nate, slow down you'll choke, there's more in there for you," Anna said looking a bit worried.

Nate's style of eating was not new to them, it's just that, it will always give one a heart attack just looking at it.

" Mom let him, there's no way he'll choke, he has a very wide esophagus. " Lucian said, causing Anna to chuckle.

Nate finally raised his head when the bowl was empty. He looked at Lucian and saw that he still had a little rice in his.

" Little god, you're so slow, you can't even finish your rice, here, as your good friend let me help you"

Nate said while stretching his hand eagerly to take the bowl in front of Lucian.

"Get lost! Who wants your help? And stop calling me little god. My name is Lucian! Lucian!" Lucian fumed covering his bowl with his two arms. If he were to live with Nate one day, he'd die of starvation because, with Nate's' existence alone, they were bound to have a food drought.

" I won't call You Lucian, I'll call you little god. Bite me. Little god... Little god .. Little god .."

Lucian: "...."

Lucian thought, there was no talking human language with this guy.

"Nate I can fetch you some more if you're not okay"

Anna said. She liked Nate a lot, because, for some reason whenever he was around, it made Lucian look lively.

" Aah... Aunt Ann, am ok. Thank you"

Nate was not heartless. In the whole town, Lucian and his family were the poorest. Sometimes they went for a few days eating just a little. But they will always show care toward others without considering themselves. Nate genuinely loved this Aunt and her mysterious son.

Nate turned towards Lucian, hitting his head as if suddenly remembering something.

"Ooh ooh little god, I almost forgot to tell you this, my father has started teaching me swordfight," Nate said with a gloomy face.

"Really! How was it? " Lucian asked curiously

"Torture! It is an adequately skilled way of torturing boys with good-looking bodies like mine" Nate answered seriously

Lucian: "....."

Lucian was speechless while Anna couldn't hold back her laughter.

Looking at the boy in front of him, Lucian's lips just kept twitching. Really, what was he expecting from Nate?

A boy who only cared about food definitely wouldn't have anything good to say about swordsmanship.

He was only learning it because he didn't have a choice. In this kingdom, it was a rule that all the kids starting from age 10, must learn sword fighting from their Fathers or their neighbors if their fathers weren't around until age 15 when the selection process would be done to pick the well-skilled ones with great intellect to be enrolled in the royal scars academy for further grooming.

Only after graduating from royal scars can one have the license to travel around or become a knight server under the king, or simply just a palace guard. No matter what position, it still brought honor and money home. Initially, only boys were made to undergo this training, but after the disaster 20 years ago, the king issued a command to train the girls.

Hence, it has been the dream of most boys and girls to be recruited into the Academy. Only the process was not easy.
