Sabrina's breath was uneven when she stopped singing. People around her started applauding her. She bowed in curtsey and the little girl bounced towards her happily and hugged her. She told Sabrina that she loved her and she wanted that man and the girl end up happily together to which Sabrina smiled and agreed.
When the crowd scattered away, the old beggar blessed Sabrina then came David with a huge grin on his face from behind her.
"That was really…. Nol lal… Manhattan."
"What?" Sabrina scoffs.
"It was something like that." David scratches his face with thought.
"What are you even saying?" She asks, confusedly.
"I can't do it! I tried 'Googling' a single Korean word and I can't even say it." Sabrina bites her lips to prevent from laughing. He seemed seriously offended by his lack.
"You can still say it in English."
"But I wanted to try in Korean." He pouts and Sabrina wanted to kiss that off of him. She hadn't ever imagined herself to react this way towards someone, not to mention with a guy whom she has met just a week ago but this was the kind of feelings she was dealing with since these past days and it just swelled up more since their last small trip together.
"So you won't compliment me?" she asks, making a sad face to his pretense.
"Ah! All right" He says, giving up. "That was really amazing." He smiles, looking at her.
"You meant to say 'nollal manhan' earlier?"
"Yeah! That was the right word! I swear I practiced saying it but…." He squeals with excitement as if it wasn't just a word but a phrase of reward and Sabrina laughs at his enthusiasm.
"Shall we go towards our job?" She asks, grabbing back his attention towards her and David comes beside her. He nudges her with his arm and eyes her to hold onto his arm like a wise man ready to court his lady and Sabrina entangles her arms with his, with her head held high and a grin on her face.
They moved together towards their destination while people watched them, along the sidewalk.
