Chapter 65 - We Won

The first thing I did when I left the birdcage was order the first guard I saw to bring me Richard and Susana immediately. After that, I headed to my chambers, Danzo, Domino, and Biroth in toe. I would put him in the dungeons but first, I wanted to speak with my advisors and I had plans for Biroth that now involved Esdeath and Lelith.

As we passed through the palace, the guards, servants, and others who saw me, all knelt immediately at the sight of me and I saw eyes widen at the sight of Biroth. Whisper and murmurs trailed us as we walked, a number of which wondering about what was going to happen to Biroth. Most were people simply wondering about what was going to happen next, but there were a few that were happy that the war was now over, and even one noble we passed who let out a small triumphant cheer as he knelt.

"Congratulations on your victory, you majesty," He said as I passed him. "I am glad to see that disgusting man in chains."

I nodded and gave him a smile.

It didn't take long to reach my chambers since by now I knew the quickest way, and when we arrived the first thing I did was flop down in a chair and order one of the maids to bring me a drink, an alcoholic drink.

I had won, and there was no harm in having a celebratory drink, especially since I hadn't really tried any of the alcohol in this world. I wasn't a drinker by any means, but now and then it wasn't bad.

"If it is not too much to ask," Danzo said. "What do you have planned, my lord?"

I leaned back in my chair and let out a contented sigh as the maid returned with a bottle filled with golden liquid and a cup. She poured me a glass and I took a small sip, enjoying the exquisite taste as I thought about Danzo's question.

"Well first things first is to sort out the dead army outside the city, and then have Biroth sorted out, which I have a plan for. After that, I want to summon everyone and get introductions through, but I'm thinking I might put that on hold for tomorrow because I want to get some rest before midnight since I have a feeling I'll be up all night."

Domino chuckled at that, while Danzo nodded in understanding.

"I do also have plans to get you sorted too with a team of your own," I said. "I know you have your shadow clones, but it would be best if we got you a team of scouts, spies, and assassins, like the Anbu"

"That would be most helpful," He replied. "it would allow me to do more for you."

Indeed it would. A group trained and led by Danzo would be extremely helpful with many things not just spying, although I'd have to make sure I picked the best people for it or I could allow Danzo to pick for himself since he probably knew what was required for the job better than i did

Just then the door opened, and Richard and Susana walked, momentarily stopping at the sight of Biroth before they approached me and knelt.

I motioned for them to rise and gave them both a smile. "We won."

Both Richard and Susan smiled, though Susana's was larger, and she had a hint of triumph whenever she glanced at Biroth.

"I mean this wholeheartedly when I say this," Susana said. "Thank you for capturing this idiot and putting a stop to him. I am unaware if you know of what he has done, but the acts he has done to women are... unforgivable, and I hope you have a nasty fate planned for him."

"Oh I do," I said darkly. Death and Lelith were going to have quite the time with Biroth.

"I must also congratulate you," Richard said. "You have ended this war swiftly, and without much bloodshed on our side."

"Indeed," I replied. "But let's get to why I called you here. I have some orders. I need people sen tout to go over the dead army outside the city walls and take anything of value, and to take the other nobles and other people of importance I captured. I want those people taken to the dungeon, but not killed or harmed just yet. I also want you to set up an announcement, not just for the nobles but for the entire city. I want you to spread the word that in two days I will be making a public announcement. Besides that, I want to thank both of you. You have both down your jobs incredibly well, and I plan on giving both of you land then will be taken from the nobles we captured."

Both looked shocked at that but incredibly happy, and I could tell they were glad they'd chosen my side.

"Your majesty, Thank you," Richard said in an earnest voice, bowing extremely low. "I have waited for this day for a long time. I have had the title of lord for a while but no land to call my own as I turned into a lord just before the old king died, making things complicated."

"I'm also grateful, your majesty," Susana added, giving me a smile which I returned. "May I ask what you plan on saying at the announcement?"

"You just did, and I'm afraid not," I said. "It's a surprise. Now get my orders done, and have some food sent up to me"

Both thanked me once more and bowed before leaving the room, smiles on their faces.

When the door was shut I turned my attention to Biroth whose eyes were closed.

"Did he fall asleep?" I asked Domino.

"Yeah," She said. "On the ride over."

"Well," I said, smiling. "I don't think he's going to like what I have in store for him."

I couldn't help but smile as I summoned Esdeath and Lelith
