64 Chapter 64 - A Hundred!

The ride back to the palace was quiet, and I spent most of the time thinking of what to do first now that Biroth had been dealt with. I was going to take the rest of the day off after I sorted everything out with Richard and Susana, but it was still good to think about things. In my life back on earth, I had spent most of my time in the moment, since I hadn't really had any goals or things I had been striving towards. Now that I did, I could understand some of what my mothers and friends had told me. Not of all it, but perhaps in time. That thought led to another, which I had been pushing away for a while.

Since I had arrived in this world a lot had happened, fighting, politics, change, and through all of it despite everything I had been happy, free in a way that I hadn't ever experienced on earth.

The truth was if I was given the option to go back home now, I wouldn't take it. Of course, I wanted to see my family again, but I couldn't leave this behind. Ture godhood had been a necessity at the beginning because I wanted to go home, but now it was a want, a goal.

True godhood. Hell of a dream.

I smiled ar the though as we flew over the wall of the city and to the palace.

There weren't any talon riders in the sky above the bridge when we neared the place, and the roof of the enclosure was wide open and I sent the mental command for Rath to land down there. I jumped of Rath when we landed and frowned as I couldn't see any riders around me. I spent a few seconds looking around and went to shout but stopped when Asara quickly appeared, alone, which was odd, since she usually had at least one of two of her riders with her.

"It is good to see back safe and well, your majesty," Asara said in an odd tone. She seemed oddly subdued compared to the usual way she acted. Her back wasn't straight, and her tone lacked the force of will it usually did.

As she drew closer I noticed she was wearing some sort of bodysuit and robe getup that looked unique, to say the least. It covered her completely and seemed much more like a second skin than a piece of clothing. The robe was silver and covered only half of her body. The entire thing left little to the imagination and I had to force myself to keep my eyes up, though when I met her gaze there was a twinkle in her.

"Where is everybody?" I asked, trying to keep my eyes focused on her face.

"They are preparing for the ceremony," She said then paused for a long moment. "I hope this does not cause distress, but we watched the battle, all of us did, and we are all in agreement. You shall be our sky lord, we shall accept no other. When a pack of females, the talons, choose a sky lord, a ceremony is held. It is a large affair and preparations have already begun. We shall be ready by midnight and I have come to tell you to attend."

"I see," I said, surprised, but not confused. "I'll be there. Is there anything I should know? Any rules or dress code?"

"Come... wearing clothes that are easy to take off," Asara said, blushing slightly. "It will make things easier for everyone."

I raised an eyebrow at that as lewd images flooded my mind and I had to force them back with an effort of will.

"Ok," I replied slowly, coughing once. "I'll do that then. Is there anything else?"

I tried to keep my voice still but it was hard as images were still trying to flood into my head, and honestly, could I really be blamed? Every single talon rider was a beauty, especially Asara and her lieutenants and the way she was making it sound really wasn't helping push back the urges I was feeling.

"I must go now," Asara said. "I must help prepare. Please arrive at the doors to the birdcage at midnight. We shall await you... eagerly, my king."

She said the last words in a sultry tone, and before I could even respond, she turned and walked away, a sway to her hips that immediately drew my eyes downwards.

"How many talon riders are there?" Domino asked from behind me.

"A hundred," I replied, the realization of what might happen starting to sink in.

She can't possibly mean what I think she means, I thought, can she? I mean all one hundred? No... well, let's just be prepared in case.

I shook my head as turned and headed for the exit from the birdcage, my mind unable to comprehend my situation. Was I dreaming? First Domino, Leone, and Blair and now a hundred talon riders, if that was what she had hinted at. From an introvert with little prospects in life to this. A King with power and a harem.

Damn, I'm lucky, I thought, pinching myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I felt the slight tinge of pain and shook my head. Nope, I certainly wasn't dreaming.

I wasn't going to be rejecting any of them because it would be stupid to and I wasn't some idiotic anime MC. There was also the fact that I'd told Asara I'd give this a chance and Migi's advice had told me that there would be no harm in it, as neither possible outcome was bad. No, i was going to to attend and if it was what I thought it was, then well i'd enjoy myself. I was all of a sudden really grafull for Migi and my enhanced body since it meant i coudn go on for a long time, though how long would it take for a hundred?

Maybe I was overthinking this. I mean me and a hundred, beautiful, passionate...

I shook my head, trying to clear my mind of overwhelmingly lewd thoughts that wanted in.

"I'll just have to wait and see," I said as we arrived at the exit.
