58 Chapter 58 - Danzo's True Power

Danzo Shimura, elder of Konohagakure, founder, and leader of Root, and the darkness of the shinobi, calmly walked through the chaos of the battle around him. His steps were light and his eyes slowly moved across the area in front of him.

He ignored all around him and focused only on the task he had been given. Capture the man called Biroth, who Danzo assumed was the enemy leader. Him alongside anyone else of importance.

For what reason? Dazon could only assume, but whatever the reason, it was a smart move. Capturing the leader and cutting of the head will always cause chaos not that there was a lack of it.

His lord had plenty of power and while Danzo added to that, and was a force to be reckoned with, his true power didn't come from the eyes he had taken or the Jutsu he possessed, but his mind and ruthlessness. The way he was willing to go to lengths that many would consider evil beyond evil.

His acts had given him the title of darkness of the shinobi, a title which was well earned if he was being honest. Everything he had done had been for the village, from the deaths and sacrifices to the pain and sorrow he'd caused, but now he had a new purpose. No longer would everything he did be for the village, but for his lord, and this time he would follow commands completely and utterly, no betrayal or anything of the like. The very idea of doing anything against his lord was sickening and wrong on a level he could not fully comprehend. It was against his very being. His loyalty was a part of himself now, alongside the need to be close to his lord and to serve. He was utterly loyal and would do anything his Lord asked of him.

He stopped and looked around before raising two fingers and focusing. A moment later a dozen shadow clones appeared around him and moved in opposite directions. In an army, there were multiple places where a leader could be positioned, and which one often depended on the type of leader. Danzo didn't have any information on this Biroth so it was best to check them all, and with his shadow clones he could

while his clones headed in other directions the original headed for the center of the army, a common position for a leader to be, at the center of everything. Danzo thought it was a foolish place to be, far too obvious and unneeded. His clones didn't bother fighting, only attacking when he had to move a soldier out of the way, which wasn't difficult. The soldiers around him were pitifully weak, and a single blow sent even those with odd energy around them to the ground or simply killed them outright. He didn't bother wasting any chakra on the fools, there was just no need. They weren't worth it and his allies had the fighting well in hand. Even he had to admit that the green giant was quite the creature and reminded him of a tailed beast. Its blade destroyed sections of the enemy army with each sweep, though Danzo could clearly tell the creature was holding back, clearly, it had been given the same order, which was good for Danzo. He did not like failing.

Danzo eventually reached the center of the enemy forces and to his surprise and disgust, immediately found the leader. It was ridiculously easy to find the idiotic man dressed like a peacock. He was practically screaming his rank to those around him, though he didn't look so smug or proud now. He looked panicked and was shouting orders to those around him. Danzo tsked at the sad excuse of a leader. He flashed forward, and a moment later the man was knocked out and over his shoulder. He spared a single glance back to see those that had been around the leader panicking and looking around wildly, clearly unsure as to what had happened to their king.

With the target In tow, he headed back to his lord, inspecting the battlefield as he went. While Danzo was busy heading back with the target the others clones had targets of their now. Other finely dressed men or those that looked to be in a position of power, were taken, unable to even realize what had happened before everything simply went black. All over the battlefield the commander, generals, and leaders fell.

The chaos grew and as many fled to the east, one of the Danzo clones went to follow but stopped at the sight of the blue-haired woman. The clone was unaware of her strength and watched as she landed. Nothing happened for a second then suddenly in the blink of an eye, every soldier in the east had their legs frozen and shattered a moment later.

The clone nodded once before turning and heading into another section of the battlefield. Other clones at this point had captured others that looked to be of importance but one clone in particular, that had headed to the back of the army had landed a goldmine. Surrounded by heavily armored soldiers was a group of well-dressed men and women, nobles.

The clone was alone and didn't have an easy way to take them all silently without it taking too long, so it decided to use force. The clone's hands moved in a blur weaving a wind-style Jutsu that was both quick, and versatile. It sucked in air and a moment later condensed bullets of air tore into the enemies guarding the nobles. Chaos erupted and Danzo used the chance to pick off more of the guards using wind bullets. By the time he was done, almost all the guards were dead and those that weren't had run, leaving the nobles defenseless and easy pickings for the shadow clone.

By this time the original had met up with Leone and had handed off the target to her before heading back into the battlefield to see if there were others of importance to take. He had already succeeded and while succeeding was good, going beyond was better.
