59 Chapter 59 - Ran Red With Blood

Leone grinned savagely as she tore her way through the soldiers around her. In the chaos that had immediately occurred after she and the others had been summoned, Leone had jumped into the fray without abandon and had begun tearing soldier after soldier apart, left and right, without remorse. These people were the ones who had chosen to follow a foul man who had started a war for an idiotic reason. A war that had caused more problems for the innocents of the land, and if not for her boss then the people wouldn't have had a chance. She remembered the first village they had been to in the world and how it had reminded her of how things had been done in her old world.

The poverty, the beating, and the lack of care for fellow people. She let her rage and anger fuel her as she fought. It was a thrill. She knew she was strong, but the levels had more her even more so, and now the blow that landed on her didn't slow her down instead only causing light flesh wounds that healed in moments.

She wasn't stupid though and didn't remain an easy target. She was constantly moving with an agility that made her want to scream into the wind in joy. Not to mention that the soldiers around her were also busy with Zombieman who once again looked like he was on a casual stroll and not in the middle of a battlefield. His face was impassive as if he didn't care and it made Leone chuckle, especially at the horrified faces the soldiers would make when he would heal almost instantly. His regeneration made hers look like child play.

------

Domino let out a yawn as she fired round after round into the mass of soldiers around her, not even bothering to look or pay attention to her surroundings. Nothing hit her, and no one managed to get close. Bolts of magic and arrows flew past her by inches, much to the dismay of the enemy.

She had to grin at her power. Her power had always been extremely useful but with the levels, it had gotten even more powerful to the point that she was in the middle of an army surrounded by soldiers who were throwing all manner of projectiles at her from all directions, but weren't even getting a single shot in. She was pristine.

Alongside her power, she had Lilah to back her up and the enemies around her couldn't afford to ignore the angel of death in their midst. Even Domino had to admit that Lilah moved with a precision that was scary to witness, and the way that she never let up made her someone to fear.

------

Against the summons and sheer power, there was no chance that Biroths army was going to win. Broken and dead, after the giant had crushed them, slowly picked off group by group then broken and tortured when they had tried to retreat. The army fell to their knees and begged for forgiveness that never came.

Once again, in the wake of the true king's power, the land ran red with blood. Stained crimson and littered with dead and broken flesh.

On the city wall, soldiers and guards watched in awe and fear at the power on display. None could believe what they were seeing, an entire army being decimated so easily was unheard of in a minor kingdom. Nobles and other high-ranking members of the peerage had also come out to watch and were slowly reaffirming certain decisions they'd made. Those who had been against the new king now realized how foolish they had been and those who had taken the chance and trusted the new king were mentally praising themselves and taking a breath of relief.

The citizens who had heard the whirring sound had been worried but word quickly spread of what was happening and many attempted to climb up to the main wall battlements or watch from tall buildings to see what was happening. The guards kept most away but some did get through and they relayed what they saw, much to the shock of the common people. The king was winning and the enemy army was being destroyed.

Relief, hope, awe, and feat spread through the people as they considered what was happening. Many were glad that there would not be a siege or battles within the city, but many others were wondering what the new king would do after the war. His position had been fragile but after the victory at the fort and this show of power, everybody, noble and common knew that Nathan storm was the king now, the true king.

While those below had mixed reactions, from high above, and a distance away, the talon riders watched in awe. They had all come out once the king had gone off to battle and the battle, no the massacre in truth, proved to them that their king was indeed worthy to be their sky lord and that they would have no other.

Their bond with their mounts and their affinity changed parts of them, one of which being the need to find a sky lord, a mate of great power, and none had ever seen power like that which Nathan storm possessed.

"We await you, my king," Asara whispered into the wind.
