52. “Why would he do all this?”

"Where are we going?!" I kept asking Shawn as I pack our bags. He's frantic when he entered the room and his behavior is freaking me out.
"Just hurry, my love." He said and look outside the window. Shawn has his gun on his waist and I never saw him have it before. Hell, I haven't even seen him this worried before.
"You have to tell me what's happening, you're scaring me," I said.
"I know baby, I know you're scared, but you don't have to be, I'm here, I won't let anything happen to you."
"What about you? What if something happens to you?" I asked, more frightened now.
Shawn rested his forehead against mine and he closed his eyes "Nothing will happen to me, I promise." He said in a low voice but I don't believe it.
He left me again to look around the window, at this time of day, it's already almost dark outside and with all the trees and plants, I doubt if he can see anything.
