Chapter 10: whispering wasp

Diora Castle

War room

Unala wearing her usual traditional attair finds herself in the middle of a heated argument between a wolf and a snake.

On the right corner of the empty war room was Remi wearing his casual clothes with no armor consisting of a back jeans and a blue top.

"Her mother's last wish was to stay with Ed and I! What right do you have to say otherwise!!!" Remi shouted with anger in his voice.

On the left corner was Unala's younger brother Prince Stefan, he also wore a traditional looking light brown caftan, despite being a hobgoblin like Unala he had traits of another race called the Naga having snake like features, the skin on top of his arms were light blue scales, his eyes were slith and he had fangs.

His black hair covered his left eye completely, making him more menacing.

"Ssssee here, I'm the Prince of thissss kingdom, that girl is one of the rarest abnormalitiessss in this world a Hobbit her skillsss can be used to benefit the kingdom down in the central minesss! So whatever you say won't change my decision!" Stefan stated.

Hobbits were rare amongst the abnormal humans in the kingdom, their tracking skills were amazing and they could find gold and other valuables without getting detected by monsters.

The whole argument revolved around the fate of the young girl Valerie.

Unala finally broke her silence "This is getting us nowhere, the girl will remain in the Fiora orphanage until we come to a conclusion tomorrow until then, the two of you behave".

"Your taking the demon's side now, what the hell sisss?!"

"Oh yah am trying to give a girl a normal life opposed to being used as a tool and am the demon" Remi sarcastically said as he rolled his eyes.

"Enough! We're dismissed for today, same time tomorrow for the final verdict" Unala declared as the she and Remi walked away and Stefan stayed in anger.

Outside the castle was Edward holding a sleeping Valerie, it was early in the morning and she hadn't woken up yet. Her features had changed completely, her height was no longer that of an upcoming preteen but of a 7 year old, only reaching Edward's stomach and Remi's waist now, her ears were bigger and her feet had small tuffs of orangy red hair on them and were also bigger.

"Did we win Sir?" Edward asked hopefully.

"Nah..." Remi replied with a low tone to his voice.

"Huh?! I was sure your shouting would have done us miracles" Edward honestly stated.

"Was that some sort of joke!!!" Remi snapped at his companion who cowered in fear again.

"Enough. Edward you'll have to drop the girl in the orphanage, I won't permit you two keeping her around until my final verdict" Unala addressed Edward.

"Understood princess..." Edward said sadly.

As The 4 continued on to their next destination.

Fiora orphanage

Edward and Remi dropped Valarie off at the orphanage before departing.

"Where are you two going?" Valerie asked softly.

"Unala's got us mining for gems again!" Remi spat out not pleased at all.

"So be a good girl, by tomorrow we'll Clear everything up and bring you back to the house" Edward said with a faint smile.

"umhh" Valerie nodded her head.

Another person appeared from behind and put a hand on Valerie's shoulder, it was the abnormal beast man sister Abigail her black unform more vibrant than ever, her m long blonde drills hair style that stayed by the left side of her back, her cat ears stood at attention and her yellow bushy tailed was up with glee.

"Don't worry sir Edward, sir Remi, I sister Abigail will make sure she stays safe" Abigail said poofing out her wide chest.

"Yah you better!" Remi said in a threatening tone(his not fond of cats)

"Thanks sister, I'll leave the rest to you, bye Valerie!" Edward said as he and the demon knight departed from the little hobbit.

Valerie headed to the playground with the other abnormal children, surprisingly it didn't take her long to blend in with a group all of them were taller than her but they were around the same age group.

"H..hi am Valerie am a type h...hobbit abnormal n.... nice to meet you all" she said as she nervously squeezed her skirt.

A girl with long white hair who wore a black dress with an open back for her white wings spoke first,

"My name's Charlotte! Am a type harpy abnormal see my wings" Charlotte said to Valerie who then rubbed them gently.

"So soft, can you fly?" Valerie asked.

"Not yet but I can glide on them" Charlotte said rubbing the back of her neck.

A huge dark skinned boy with a single big brown eye smiled at Val, he wore a green shirt and brown shorts.

"Am Biggy a type cyclop abnormal, you've got pretty eyes" Biggy said with a goofy grin.

Valerie blushed slightly "thank you".

"And am Hera! Type wisp abnormal nice to meet you!" A girl with light blue skin and brown hair said she was wearing a similar dress to Charlotte.

The group took part in multiple activities, telling secrets, playing tag, and kickball, since all the kids had a deformity no discrimination came from any child in the orphanage, even if Valerie ended up in Edward and Remi's care she'd still come to see these 3.

The morning turned to noon and the kids continued to play kickball, until Hera accidentally kicked the ball deep into the swampy forest.

"I'll go get it!"  she says as she jumps over the orphanage fence and rushes into the forest.

10 minutes pass and her friends still sitting on the play ground grass waiting bored.

Valerie hears a faint sound and lifts her face up to see a blurred image in the sky flying further into the forest, Valerie stands on the fence to get a better look and sees its a huge creature with wings carrying a small child most likely Hera.

"No way!" Valerie jumps off the fence and begins chasing the creature with Charlotte and Biggie following behind her.

"Where are you going Val?!" Charlotte questions her.

"it's Hera! I think a monster's captured her!" Valerie replies with terror.

(I don't see anything? Most be Val's hobbit senses) Charlotte pieces together facts.

"Should we contact sister Abigail!" Biggie shouts as the 3 enter the forest leaving the orphanage and the village behind.

"If I lose sight of that monster it's bye bye Hera! Besides the other children will probably tell sister, all we have to do is save her from the monster and run!" Valerie says as she keeps moving forward.

The stubborn will of Rouge her mother within her pushes her to protect what little she has(in this case her friend).

Oblong forest

The swampy trees slowing grew longer as the kids entered a new terrain. The forest had white bark with small black stripes on them, the light green leaves made the ground fluffy as the occasional fell and decorated the forest floor, the tall trees intimidated the kids but they didn't stop.

Finally it was evening time and Valerie watched as the creature took Hera into what seemed like a white mountain hanging on the trees, biggie climbed one of the trees and felt the mountain but instead of hard rock it was silky and soft.

"A hive?" He said recalling his knowledge of poking spider webs and wasp nest.

"Let's go!" Valerie said as she climbed  a tree and entered the hive and so did biggie and Charlotte.

As they walked through the white road passing by multiple spider webs Charlotte showed her displeasure.

"I hate spiders, their webs always get tangled in my hair and feathers" She said with a pissed off expression.

"Bare with it until we find Hera" Valerie said as she marched on.

The kids stopped behind a rock in the hive as the monster finally released it's hidden form, it was dark yellow in colour with and oval head, 2 black antenna hanging like twigs off it's forehead, it had 2 big ones in the front, one small on the left and the right side of it's head, and the remaining 4 eyes were in the middle of the the big eyes total of 8 eyes, it had 4 sets of mandibles instead of a proper mouth, it's 4 sets of silver wigs sparkled as they remained folded on it's back, it's torso and abdomen was a mixture of yellow and black and the stinger at the end was blood red, it had 2 sets of arms on it's torso, and on it's abdomen hung two folded tendrils and it's legs.

Valerie couldn't tell what it was but she could tell it was dangerous.

"Now then deary, are you compatible wasu?" The creature spoke in a clicky voice as it brought Hera close to it's face.

"Pfft! Trash again wasu!" The creature hissed as it threw her into a pile of bones on the left side of the room.

"It just had to be a useless wisp! My Lord will be an angry! I need to tend to the other compatible children wasu!"  The creature cried as it unfolded it's wings and flew upwards to a bunch of cocoons.

The kids quietly rushed over to Hera, Charlotte took note that the pile of bones Hera was in were too small to be adults, a grim expression took over her face (children?)

Biggie grabbed a hold of the unconscious Hera and began to rush back to the entrance until Valerie stopped and touched a wall.

"There's someone in the wall" she said as she broke the silk wall revealing a hideous truth.

Tangled in webs was a human boy gradually developing insect like features his eyes forming on his forehead and his hair was falling out, this creature was turning children into monsters like it.

With no time to spare the kids ran towards the entrance like their lives depended on it, which it did.

After running through the forest the kids had to stop and breathe behind a fallen tree, all of them were filled with fear.

Valerie quickly felt a chill behind her and raised her head slowly.

"Why the rush wasu?" The monster was looming above with eyes of curiosity.

"How did you find me wasu? I'm sure I was using <concealment> to hide my presence wasu, wait a hobbit wasu?" The creature said again as it viewed Valerie with all 8 eyes.

"Run!" Biggie shouted as he pulled Valerie away from the monster and started running with Hera still sleeping on his back.

The kids ran as fast as they could but they couldn't lose the monster following them like bee above.

"Guys take Hera and leave! it's me he wants! Go get help am sure he won't kill me!" Valerie screamed at her friends.

"But..." Charlotte tried to argue but Biggie grabbed her hand and shoved her down a left path while Valerie took the right, the monster followed suit.

"My demon Lord will be pleased with me wasu, if I convert a hobbit my rank will surely increase wasu!" The creature said as it closed in on Valerie.

"I Azla will become a top ranking arachid wasu!" The monster said as it readied it's red stinger and thrusted it towards Val.

'kahhhttt!' a big stone collided with Azla's head causing it's stinger to miss it's target.

Valerie ducked and cover and realized Biggie had thrown a huge stone at the monster.

"Now!" Biggie cried and like an angel descending from the heavens Charlotte was gliding at full speed towards Azla.

"Hiyahhhhh" Charlotte removed her shoes showing her sharpened bird talons which she used to cut a decent portion of Azla's wings and injure it's back.

"Gishowwwwww!" Azla screamed in pain as it fell to the ground.

With no time to lose Biggie pick up Valerie while still holding Hera and continued running with Charlotte behind him.

"Why'd you come back?!" Valerie screamed.

"You're one of us! If you can risk your life to save someone you just met then so can we!" Charlotte shouted back at the hobbit and Biggie nodded in agreement tears started to fall from Valerie's eyes.

Before long the monster started using it's tendrils to jump up and catch up to the kids, Valerie escaped Biggie's grip and aimed at the creature.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Valerie released a Sonic wave at Azla freezing it in it's tracks.

'Cough cough' about 10 seconds after the scream Valerie started holding her neck in anguish again, the price for that sound magic was the air in her lungs and thanks to running for so long it wasn't as effective as in her battle with Clide.

"Shiraaaaaaa!" The monster started buzzing about with it's torn wings, trying to regain it's composure then suddenly.

{Air wall x2} like a fly in a trap Azla was trapped between 2 forcefields of air with it's head sticking out.

Suddenly Edward and Remi came running out of a long bush.

"Take this!!!" Remi Sprinted at full speed and put his demon rage into his right hand as he swung his sword at the creature.

'slashhhhhh!' the blade hit the hard neck of the insect but thanks to the added power it was soon decapitated and it's head went flying.

The body continued to move but Edward kept holding it in the air walls.

"Val!" Edward screamed as he saw an exhausted Valerie on the ground surrounded by Biggie and Charlotte.

"Abigail! you had one job!" Remi shouted at a rustling bush.

"Am so sorry sir! I've failed as a nun!" Abigail came out of the bush crying her eyes out as she approached the children and hugged all of them

The kids could finally breath a sigh of relief, Valerie in particular was glad her supposed guardians had come to her rescue once again.

The nest was burnt down and all the children in it were removed and taken to a medical center.

The next day after returning the kids to the orphanage Remi, Edward, Unala and Stefan had a heart to heart.

"That thing was an arachid? Am pretty sure those are supposed to be spiders! Not wasp!" Remi shouted in confusion.

"it's only naturally to presume that if humans can evolve into abnormalities and perfect evolutions(Ranchus), then so can other races" Edward answered.

"But what makesss them evolve?" Stefan asked his elder sister.

"From the information the kids gave us it's mostly likely rank" Unala answered, "And the process of reversing the transformation of the children is going well but incredibly slow" she added.

A brief pause happened as all 4 of them wondered what could happen next (God help us all).

"In regardsss to the hobbit girl I still think ssshe would be better off with the rest of her kind in the minesss" Stefan said.

"I've already decided she's joining the Wrath party" Unala declared.

"In your face reptile!" Remi pointed his two fingers at Stefan and smiled evilly while Edward cried tears of joy.

"Pfft, leaving sssuch a valuable resource with a ranklessss guild lessss demon! Am disappointed" Stefan said as he folded his arms.

Remi and Edward then returned to the village to give Valerie the good news, Unala stayed behind in the castle and talked to her brother.

"I still don't fully trust him but his definitely showing his worth" Unala said to her brother.

"I'll have to sssee it to believe" Stefan said as he to walked out of the room unimpressed.

That's that! Next time Wrath party engages in sports?!
