Chapter 16

With more than half of the lunch break remaining, Eden decided to search for his sister Nina, the Captain of Kaihin's Track and Field team. However, he faced one issue: he didn't know the location of the track and field club's practice area. Yet, this offered an opportunity to complete another quest – he could ask someone for directions. He assumed the practice area must be somewhere outdoors on the school grounds, so he ventured to Kaihin's first floor. Exiting the building, he spotted a tall girl with a slender figure.

"Sempai, do you know where the Girls' Track and Field club practices?" Eden inquired. The girl took a moment before turning to look at him. He detected a hint of surprise at his appearance, though she concealed it well.

"Why do you need to know that? Are you trying to go peak on them?" she teased.

"No, my sister is in the club, and I wanted to visit her. I'm Eden Tsubakihara, Nina and Yuna's little brother," Eden explained. After a quick once-over and a nod, the girl seemed to notice the family resemblance.

"If you walk down this hall and head outside, you'll find the track. If no one's running on it, they might be in a building nearby," she directed.

"Thank you, Sempai. By the way, what's your name?" Eden asked.

"Mai Sakurajima Third year."

"Thanks again, Sakurajima-sempai," Eden replied, and then continued on his way to the track. If he hadn't been searching for his sister, he might have spent more time chatting with Mai. However, his primary focus was on reuniting with his sister.

Upon arriving at the track, he spotted the building he was looking for. Approaching it, he knew he would find his sister there. She had previously mentioned this as her go-to spot. Knocking on the door, a few seconds passed before it swung open. Behind the door stood a girl with platinum blonde hair and Western facial features, her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Her figure could rival Rias's in terms of bust size.

"Im…" he began, but before he could finish, she spoke in English, "You must be Nina's brother, Eden." She embraced him in a hug. Their chests met, and due to the contact, a bit of allure escaped him, which caused her to tighten the hug in response.

"Mia, who was it?" Another voice interrupted, and Eden felt his life flash before his eyes. He got out of the girls hug, and he was faced with four individuals: his sister, a girl with equally ample assets as Mia but more Japanese features with brown hair tied in a ponytail, a stunning girl with short pink hair, and an older woman – presumably the coach – with short black hair and an average build. Seeing the coach was female, he smiled inwardly. Thanks to Fated Revelations, he had obtained information about a male coach who would oversee his sister's final year. However, Eden knew this coach would pose a problem, so he took matters into his own hands. He remembered the man begging for his life asking for forgiveness for a crime hadn't yet been committed.

"Brother, why are you here?" his sister's voice brought Eden back to reality, shaking him from his twisted thoughts.

"I missed you, sister. I didn't get to see you at all yesterday," Eden said, attempting to give his sister puppy-dog eyes.

"Well, you can't stay. We're discussing important matters," the coach began to explain, likely about to stress the importance of their conversation. However, Eden was not one to let anything come between him and his sisters.

{Suggestion: You can let them all hang out for the rest of lunch. They're just kids after all.}

As soon as the spell took effect, she spoke, "It's fine, Nina. Sometimes you're so serious. There's only a bit of time left for lunch. Hang out with your brother while I head back to the school and take care of some paperwork."

"Really?" Nina asked, likely perplexed by the change in attitude from their usually stern coach.

"She said we could. Don't question good fortune," the pink-haired girl chimed in.

As the coach departed, a girl whom he believed was named Mia spoke again, this time in Japanese, "Why does my face get hot whenever I'm near you?" If he weren't in front of his sister, he would have definitely made a move, but given the situation, he exercised restraint.

"It's normal. It happens to a lot of people," he assured before approaching the rest of the group. Nina seemed to enjoy introducing her friends to him. First, he had met Mia Stewartson, the vice captain and an American running prodigy who had transferred for her final year. Then there was Asuka Ogura, the brown-haired girl, who Nina had known since her first year and who had been a visitor to their house. Lastly, Yuki Ande, a second-year transfer from Purott High after its closure.

"Nina said you were cute, but I didn't think you would be this cute," Yuki-chan complimented.

"Yuki!" his sister protested.

"Yes, when describing him, she didn't exaggerate much," Mia added, trying to get closer to him but being blocked by his sister. They continued talking until the end of class. At that point, they had to part ways. He was headed to the first-year classrooms, while his sister, Mia, and Ogura were going to the third-year ones.

"Can I get your Line ID?" Yuki asked as they walked, as their paths were somewhat aligned.

"I'll give you that, but I'm a bit old school, so I prefer calling and texting. I'll give you my number as well."

"Thanks. I'll give this to Mia too. If she sees me talking to you, she'll probably want to know. You know how she is."

"Sure thing," he replied, and with that, he made his way back to his classroom,
