Chapter 41: Divide and Conquer End

The whole monitor showed intense brightness coming from the skills exploding. The battlefield was still unclear but the crowds with their bated breath waited anxiously and excitedly for the outcome of the battle.

The final clash was truly marvelous and extreme. They still remembered the events that followed through after Australia left Xavier.

Yes, Xavier did survive but unfortunately, his teammates met Denmark. They clashed but they were defeated. They still fight with their best.

Now, there were only 8 people inside the battlefield…

Xavier White, Australia

Leonel Crowell, US

Peter Lewis, US

Zigz Ruric, Canada

Ryan Iversen, Denmark

Wayde Karlsen, Denmark

Anthony Pangilinan, Philippines

Allen Fauni, Philippines

After Australia left Xavier, he bought enough time until his teammates successfully retreated then escaped by himself from the front.

Canada couldn't stop Xavier from breaking free from them. Then, Canada and Thailand fought without any suspense. They easily overwhelmed them after all they also stop Australia from escaping. Without prior experience on their teamwork they were defeated.

South Korea and US also concluded their battle. Leonel fought Kim Taehyun seriously because Taehyun alone killed 3 of his teammates.

Leonel and Peter Lewis survived the battle. Then Denmark met the fleeing Australia and fought with them. Denmark wasn't unscathed. They lost 3 teammates with their healer.

The last hurrah of Australia killed the healer. Then Canada pursuing Australia met Denmark. They fought 5 versus 4. Denmark's teamwork was beyond them so they lost 4 people but only killed 2. Zigz survived and retreated.

Gilbert also fought Allen and Anthony but failed. He fell from their trap. He was killed without knowing why.

Australia's score didn't move anymore. The flags on the bases they occupied were also stripped clean. Philippines, Canada, and Denmark were raking points while the 4 were having a stand-off.

The battlefield cleared the dust and light that occupied the monitor. Four people were still standing.

"I didn't know that you'll survive my all out attack." Xavier said while panting. He depleted his mana and he was also physically exhausted, at least his character. "Then, I'll leave the battlefield first. See you next battle."

Xavier turned into blue lights, which indicated that he withdrew from the battle, only leaders could do so. He entered with his refreshing and cool looks and exited with a worn out smile yet cool at the same time.

"Now, it's 2 versus 1." Leonel looked at Ryan. He smiled and get ready for his next move but…

"Keuk, I didn't see that coming…" Peter turned into white lights after expressing his discomfort. Peter's life bar was decreasing slowly until it hit zero. He was having 2 status ailment which were 'bleeding' and 'dark corruption'.

"I must say it's 1v1. The final outcome of this event will depend on us." Ryan smiled wolfishly.

"Well, sorry to disagree. But, it really was 2v1." Zigz appeared behind Ryan.

He would rather help US and Philippines because he was friends with others than let Denmark win.

"Didn't think that US and Canada will team up to take me down."

"I also didn't expect it but… prepare for battle!" Zigz threw his cards.

Ryan evaded Zigz attack while also evading Leonel's attack. It wasn't really a 2v1 because Zigz only provided support.

The battle lasted for awhile but an outcome they didn't expect happened. Wayde showed and provided timely assistance and brought down Leonel. Zigz escaped and the three teams played a game of cat and mouse.

After the three teams exhausted their flags and collected the remaining flags. The event ended without any suspense but, the crowds were still roaring until the end.

There were chances of battle but they rather collect scores than fight. Denmark also chose to rake score than fight. The final score finally came up.

Denmark – 26 points

Canada – 24 points

Philippines – 24 points

US – 19 points

Australia – 16 points

South Korea – 13 points

Thailand – 11 points

Sweden – 9 points

China – 8 points

France – 7 points

Only top 10 were showed on the list. The rest would be announced tomorrow.

"… and that concludes our second event, Divide and Conquer!"

Cheers came from the crowds, unexpectedly, Australia with their powerful start was kicked out from top 3. South Korea also lost their footings on top 3.

The audience have their own opinions on the outcome but they left the stadium with smiles and laughter.

Liam woke up muddled headed until he remembered that he had an appointment with his friends. He stood up and went to the bathroom to take a bath.

He exited the bathroom and dried his hair with the towel. He wore plain black shirt and pants before wearing his white rubber shoes.

Liam combed his hair and finally looked at the time. It was fifteen minutes passed five. He whistled while he was combing his hair. He heard knocks coming from his door so he opened it.

Anthony was rapping the door when it opened from the inside and showed Liam with his calm expression. Anthony suddenly threw himself on Liam and laughed happily.

Before Liam could react, he was hugged by a teen and laughing merrily. Liam was amused by the kid and let him expressed his happiness. Liam's mood was also lifted hearing him.

He waited for the teen to finish before asking about it. "We won 2nd place! We tied with Canada! Hehe! It was all thanks to me and captain!"

Liam released an "Oh!" before nodding. He ruffled Anthony's hair before dragging Anthony out his room. He didn't forget to get his phone. Liam messaged Allen that he would be taking out Anthony with him before going in his way towards their planned place.

Liam met everyone at the meeting place. Of course, it was still the top floor of the restaurant where the penthouse was. In fact, everyone only wanted to eat and talk about the events.

Some of them participated and some didn't but they all agreed to eat together to strengthen their relationship with each other.

Except for Julius, everyone arrived at the top floor. They already ordered their foods and were only waiting for it.

"How's the tournament?" Liam asked breaking the silence. He was the only one who didn't watch.

"Oh! So…." Ye Han and Velkner told Liam the news about the tournament with the right expression which hooked Liam more.

"…and that's the end of it."

"Wow. So Xavier did a cool exit. Leonel wreaked havoc. The rest was history?"

"Yeah!"

Leonel looked at Liam and decided to give his opinion. "I think Ryan, Wayde, Gilbert, and Rasmus will show up in the All Star Player League."

"Of course! They're participating like us after all they cleared the Tower of Demise on their own faction."

"I see. Any news about a person named Lance?"

"No, I think he will only participate on All Star League."

"I see…"

When the food arrived, everyone merrily ate their fill before exchanging their opinions on those powerful enemies. After all, they still have to participate tomorrow.

While Liam and other were all having their fills, 6 people were sitting around a dining room.

"Well, didn't expect that Denmark will win." Elina expressed her concern.

"Me too, I didn't think that they will also show exemplary potential." Linnie said while thinking on how to improve her teaching skills.

"It seems that we'll have to add Ryan as one of the candidates." Nifa said while looking at Gabriel.

"Yes, I'm also thinking about that. What do you think Hanz? Will you receive another student?"

"Yes, we need to assign someone to train Xavier soon."

"What about the Elf princess?"

"Why her?"
