My beloved brother killed me because I didn't obey his commands to be his queen. Ending the life of the true Crown, I grimaced for a very long time until I was subjected to the burning flames of hellfire. I thought that everything was over until I suddenly regressed before any of this had happened. I, Keira, swear to protect the Crown.
One day, as I bleakly open my eyes, I hear the roaring crowds right outside the steel metal gates. Due to inflicted injuries, my sense of hearing and sense of sight have dulled, but.
Even after all that, I just knew what was going to happen next, an intuition perhaps.
I blinked my eyes opening it slightly once more. Feeling the cold steel chains and cold bricks adorned by blood and a heavy scent of rusted metals.
The combination of the two made me want to vomit, but there was nothing left to vomit from my empty stomach that had endured countless days and countless nights in this icy-cold prison cell.
As I looked back to where the gate leading the outside was, there, I saw him. The Crown Prince of Juresaia, Fontaine De Crown. With his short grey hair that strikes the heart of the masses and an eye made of blue pearl that can captivate any woman in his sight along with his stride and magnificent well-built body that can be the cause of a war just happened to be possessed by one person.
... The man in question kept staring at me with pitiful eyes; he looked worried for what was about to come.
"Keira..."
His soft and tender voice that expresses worry from me made me hope that it was all just a dream.
"What's the matter Fontaine...?"
While his voice was that of a melancholy of an angel, mine was rough and cold.
Hearing my voice, Fontaine knelt on one knee even staining his fully white clothing with blood. He then extended his hand, touching my pale cheek.
"Cold..."
As soon as he said that, my stomach began to churn as I swallowed my dry saliva, looking at him with a sense of disgust.
"Heh... Why are you still pretending... Fontaine De Cleux?"
Hearing what I had said in front of him, made him a bit agitated. Lowering his hand to my neck.
He then started to squeeze it bit by bit, choking me in the process whilst I looked at him with my cold and dead ruby eyes.
"Ngh... Cough... Cough... Is this all that you got...? Cleux?"
Fontain tried to withhold his anger, retracting his hand wrapped around my neck.
"... I see... I now see why the original Crown wanted you... Sister..."
He looked at me longingly even to the point of calling me his sister. Just hearing that filthy mouth of his made me want to die, but having my hand chained to my back, it was hard to even punch him or kick him in the face, so I spat at him.
My spit landed on the right side of his face, and I looked at him, stunned and unmoving. I grinned and laughed subtly.
"Heh... Look at your beautiful face... It looks like dirt when spat."
Fountain slowly got up, reaching his hand to his handkerchief at the chest of his white tuxedo embroidered with many decorums of blue jewels.
Though my words may be crass and unbecoming, I, no, we were once just orphans from the slums. Having made it to the topmost position due to someone's benevolence... Though... Just to be repaid by betrayal and death.
Fontaine fixed his clothes before going outside back to his position.
Before leaving the gate, he looked at me and sighed.
"Sigh... If only you weren't so stubborn in going against me... We would've lived happily ever after..."
I glared at him upon hearing his nonchalant voice.
"Happily ever after? Heh! In your dreams!"
He looked at me once again, showing his last affection as he crossed the gate and into the light.
On the other hand, I am still stuck in the darkness and will soon be left to their judgment.
Time passes by, uncertain of what will appear before me as I have yet to close my eyes in fear of dying unknowingly.
My breathing has started to deteriorate. The chains that bind me have started to rustle as I try to brush off bugs and mice trying to eat me alive.
A time that was eternal for a prisoner like me was just about a few hours away before midday and the exact time of my execution.
....
Finally, the time of reckoning has arrived. A guard wearing a red tunic and long black pants holding a long steel spear came to get me out of the cell.
Slowly, after unlocking my chains, they cuffed me again with another, unbound from the prison where I had stayed for more than 5 years of my life.
Dragging me out into the light, with bruises all over my body, it stung like hellfire as my body began to be inflamed.
I looked at my cell one last time as they dragged both of my hands. I looked at the tattered clothes on me, which were worn by criminals, and grinned.
"Heh... The time has finally arrived."
The guards looked at me like a crazy wench who was out of her mind after sensing that my death was already set in stone.
The guard to my right tried to slap me in silence but was stopped by the other.
"Let her be. She'll soon die for offending and threatening the crown."
They both then gaze back towards the light, and I, still stuck on regrets as I looked back at the cold cell which bound me for the remainder of my life.
....
Upon dragging me out, they then threw me into a pit filled with inflammable liquid.
"Haah! Huff! Huff!"
As I was thrown in, I gasped for air, my whole body wet and drenched with a strong scent of chemical.
Fortunately, the pit was only filled with the amount of volume that left me a bit of a gap.
I glanced over the walls and saw that it was surrounded by a crowd of people I once knew as my loyal supporters.
