Chapter 27: Choosing a Weapon

When Fedyenka got in her deep sleep, she saw a dream that she could not think of. The dream was about her being in a small house. There was a woman wearing a scarf around her head and a middle aged man wearing a cap on his head and an old man holding a walking cane. The woman had bright red lips and jet black hair like Fedyenka's. The man had bright amber skin tone just like her. There was a table in front of them. They were eating something. Before eating and after eating, the middle aged man said something. Before Fedyenka could realize what he was saying, she woke up. She saw the alarm clock ringing on the side table. She slammed her left hand on it and shut it up.

"Tsk...It's time already? What was that..." said Fedyenka while getting up from the bed.

Fedyenka got up and found Bea by her side. But she was charging. She wondered what Bea always does which makes her so exhausted. She thought about asking Yuri about it but she changed her mind thinking that she probably would not get her answer from him. She got ready to go to the field, wearing one of her three casual clothes. Yuri asked her if she needs more while they were out shopping but she refused. Even though she was at a shopping spree on her third day of training, she stayed humble. Thinking back about it, now she thinks that she should have asked for a mobile phone. With one click, she opened the door and saw a guapa passing by with a dish in it's hands.

"Excuse me, can you please help me go to the south of the Hall of the Greats?"

The guapa's sides glowed for a bit. It put it's right hand on it's right ear. It seemed to communicate with some other person or thing. A marionette appeared. The marionette said,

"Come with me Miss. I shall lead you to the southern field of the Greats."

Fedyenka without a word, started following the marionette. A woman wearing a headset was using a computer in a cabin. The woman pretty much looked like the guapas. But her hair and eyes were different. All guapas has some different features but she had some human like features which piqued Fedyenka's interest. When the marionette and Fedyenka were going to pass the gate, the woman in the cabin spoke up and said,

"Please show me your entrance card."

Ae-Ri appeared in all of a sudden and said,

"I am the entrance card. Let her in."

"Miss Ae-Ri, good evening again. Is she a friend of yours?" said the woman.

"She is. And, she is a trainee too. She hasn't gotten her entrance card yet. Hearing her name would be enough though."

"Is this the renowned Fedyenka?"

"Yes it is."

"Oh. Greetings Fedyenka. You will receive an ID card soon. Please tell people your name so that it won't cause you any trouble. Please enter." said the woman and opened the gate using the computer in front of her. The woman was no doubt a robot. Or perhaps a cyborg.

Fedyenka tried to enter but couldn't. Some sort of a barrier stopped her.

"Oh I forgot. Don't try to push yourself to come here, the barrier can break. Here, take my entrance card." said Ae-Ri and threw her entrance card towards Fedyenka.

Fedyenka took the card in her hands and could easily get in. They started walking and talked about a few things.

"Hey Fed, couldn't you see the barrier?" said Ae-Ri.

"No..." said Fedyenka looking down a little.

"It's because you don't have much affinity with the nature yet."

"Why is it like this?"

"Well, nature is the greatest source of energy the world has ever got. If you have less interaction with the nature, then nature won't open it self to you. You will be unable to sense certain things. After all, we humans are said to be a part of mother nature."

"Um...what is the scientific elaboration of this though."

"Now that's a long topic. It's gonna take us a looooooong time."

They stayed silent for the rest of the walk. Fedyenka looked around and saw small pink birds flying around.

"Hey Ae-Ri look, they look like cotton candies."

"LOL."

"What's that?"

"Laugh out loud."

"You could just laugh out loud instead of saying that."

"I didn't want to. You are just like a little kid Fedyenka. Ha ha!"

"Uh...did that sound weird to you?"

"No...it sounded cute. You have quiet an imaginative power. Your dreams must be very wild too."

"Dreams..."

"What???"

"N-Nothing."

In a short time, they reached their destination. Someone walked towards Fedyenka wearing the same hoodie Qiang was wearing last night. The person took off his hood and smiled. His hair was pitch black and his jawline was sharp like Phantom's. His eyes were ocean blue but small.

"So you are that renowned Fedyenka. Nice to meet you." said Qiang while reaching his hands toward Fedyenka. Qiang acted as if he doesn't know who Fedyenka is.

"Hello." said Fedyenka. Fedyenka's behavior was the same toward him.

"What is it Fed, you look like you've got some questions. By the way, what's up man" said Ae-Ri and reached out her hands to punch his belly.

"My question is, um...never mind." said Fedyenka and then she looked away.

"Is it about my eyes? Well Ae-Ri's eyes aren't that big too." said Qiang Li.

"Yeah...is it hard to see with it?" said Fedyenka.

"Well it's okay for someone with big eyes like yours to say something like this. By the way, no, it isn't hard."

"Alright then, I will leave the rookie to you. I gotta move and get to work now." said Ae-Ri and left.

"That woman...she always dumps her works on me but this time I am pretty happy about it." said Qiang Li.

"Why did she dump me on you?" said Fedyenka with an innocent face. Her face is pretty full with a sharp jawline which makes her look adorable and innocent. Yet at the same time when she is in action, her facial expressions look serious which is certainly not close to being adorable.

"Because she has other trainees to train. She is a trainee training a trainee under training. I am that trainee under her training and now I am going to train you. Hm..."

"Now that's a lot of 'train'..."

"HA HA HA. You are really funny I got to say. Anyway now let's get into work. Your combat training still isn't even halfway completed yet."

"It hasn't even been a month bro..."

"Don't call me that. I don't like that name very much."

"Why, you have an asshole brother like me too?"

"No but yes. Okay now back to the topic of training-"

"You sure do love saying the word a lot."

"No actually. Hmm...have you learnt how to pull a weapon?"

"No. How do you do it?"

"For beginners, you simply have to call your weapon by it's name out loud and reach out to hold it. As an example, I will show you how I pull mine from miles away. I don't even have to call it's name but anyway, Huang Li!"

Qiang Li pulled a sword out of nowhere. It pretty much seemed like a summoning technique rather than a pulling one to Fedyenka. She said her thought out loud. Hearing that Qiang giggled.

"Now, it is time for you to pick a weapon. Come with me."

"Why did you teach me summoning it before giving me one?"

"So that you can make some use of it when something bad happens."

"Hey Qiang."

"What is it?"

"How old are you?"

"Why are you so interested in me in all of a sudden, hm?"

"I was just curious. I could guess other people age but yours is a bit of a mystery to me."

"Were those guesses correct?"

"Yeah. Most of it."

"How old do you think I am?"

"Seventeen?"

"Correct. Oh we are here."

Fedyenka didn't notice the whole time. She has got on an elevator, took a walk and reached a certain mall. The mall was filled with many sorts of weapons. A bald bearded man with a pair of glasses came and said,

"Welcome to our shop Miss. Oh there is Mr. Li. Last time you came here was ten years ago."

"Yes Uncle Jeff. Long time no see. I am here to help this rookie a little. She needs a weapon."

"Oh what's her surname?"

"Um...she doesn't have any."

The man took off his glasses and looked at Fedyenka with his eyes narrowed.

"Oh my! Red lips, black hair with such robust body. It is Fedyenka! I am afraid we don't make any weapon that would go with you but you can try picking one."

"Oh...ok." said Fedyenka.

The man took out some fine weapons and gave them to Fedyenka.

"Don't give her such fine weapons now, it would go to waste. Show us some of the least fine weapons you have." said Qiang.

"No weapon is least fine in this shop." said Uncle Jeff.

Uncle Jeff looked for some weapons. He typed on a keyboard and mumbled, "Thekwane feathers...Jania wings... Can you tell me your blood group?"

"I don't know...Maybe Yuri knows." said Fedyenka.

"Aight I'll call him." said Qiang Li. He called him but Yuri hung up. Instead he told him to message him. Qiang Li sent him a message and got a reply that Fedyenka's blood group is O positive.

"Okay...O positive...Can you give me a strand of your hair?" said Uncle Jeff.

"Yeah sure." said Fedyenka. She pulled out a strand of her hair and gave it to him. She put it on a glass. He typed something on the keyboard again and the glass seemed to scan the strand of hair.

"I am sorry Miss Fedyenka, we have no such weapon right now that you can use without any problem." said Uncle Jeff.

"Oh..." said Fedyenka.

"Can we make an order?" said Qiang Li.

"Yes. But we do not have such materials right now. The weapon will have to wait for two days. If we had the materials I could just make you one right now. By the way, what weapon do you want?" said Qiang Li.

"Is there any weapon that can be all in one? You know...like a bow, sword and a gauntlet at once." said Fedyenka.

Hearing what she said, they laughed.

"Why need a all in one when you can summon any weapon you want. But the weapon has to be your kind." said Uncle Jeff with a smiling face.

"Oh...Back to the topic, then how about we look for the materials?" said Fedyenka.

"I cannot help you with that. I thought we could pick a weapon for you from here and start training. If we give you the usual weapons you are gonna blast every one of them off."

Ae-Ri came out of no where and said, "I have a message from the superiors everyone."

"Oh Ae-Ri. Perfect timing." said Uncle Jeff.

"We think that Fedyenka does not have a suitable weapon for her right now. She has to go on an expedition all by herself and look for the materials if she wants a weapon."

Fedyenka got excited hearing such news. Her eyes were filled with hope. She got her mind ready for her first ever adventure.
