Academy of Chaos

“…… She’s a failure from birth” The words of her Grandmother echoed continuously in Yetunde’s head, as she aimlessly wandered the forest, with tears running down her pitiful eyes. Her attention and interest immediately got piqued, when she heard an eerie but peaceful song, alongside a cluster of weird but beautiful glowing particles, originating from a cave, deep within the treacherous ends of the forest. At the entrance of the cave, she felt a grotesque energy surge, which for some reason attracted her towards itself, thereby distorting her sense of reasoning. On entering the cave, Yetunde was immediately greeted by a group of infuriated witches. Originally wanting to kill her for intruding, Yetunde finds redemption and solace in the coven. The Queen of the Coven, Ella, surprisingly gifts Yetunde with a rare Arcane treasure, which she believed would help the young girl out of her present predicament. Shortly after the encounter with the witches, Yetunde was suddenly accepted to school at the most prestigious Academy of magic, known famously as “Solaris Arcane Academy”. Her acceptance was due to the sudden awakening of her innate Affinity. Not only gaining popularity, she gained superiority and soon found herself in an environment of both people who despise her and those who loves her. Making both friends and enemies in her new school, Yetunde and her peers wakes to find themselves on a rollercoaster of action, horror, drama, love, tragedy and other thrilling experiences. After going on countless quests and adventures, Yetunde soon discovered a shocking truth behind her existence. It dawned on her after a brief encounter with her previous incarnation. In her previous life, she was famously known as “The Witch of Chaos”, a human God, whose name got forgotten in time, right after her inglorious Battle with the dreaded Demon Lord, Jarzodon. CHAPTER 8: Rare grade Affinities

"Next we have, Reynolds Heming!" He said, rolling his eyes with annoyance.

By the name, one could tell Reynolds was related to the Principal. Unlike before, after a couple of minutes nobody showed up, causing the audience and Instructors to murmur in confusion.

"Where the hell is that little brat?" Nelson yelled angrily.

"Reynolds Heming, the Son of Nelson Heming" Blake mockingly said.

"I swear I'm gonna kill that little brat!" Nelson yelled, clicking his tongue.

"Reynolds Heming!" Lupercio calmly exclaimed, staring earnestly at the audience. After a couple of minutes, there was still no response from anyone.

"Alright then, Since there's no response, we will move on to the next…." Lupercio said before he was interrupted.

"I'm here... I'm here.... I'm here... I'm here" A voice suddenly echoed, drawing everyone's attention.

They all saw a young male youth, awkwardly standing at the door of the hall. He was clearly sweating and panting for breath, while he stroked his hair in an awkward manner. His red spiky hair and green bulgy eyes were the first thing one could notice about him, not to mention his fine-looking face.

After staring at Reynolds, Yetunde realized that, he was the guy she bumped into earlier.

"Reynolds Heming" Yetunde whispered.

"Yeah, he's the son of Nelson Heming" Olamide commented.

"Obvi….. I guess I have got to give him a proper apology" Yetunde said, shaking her head in regret.

"Why?" Olamide curiously stared.

"Well, I accidentally bumped into him a while ago" Yetunde replied, staring earnestly at Reynolds.

"Oh I see, don't worry about it. You'll have time to apologize when you're in the academy" Olamide said.

"Alright Dad!" She replied.

Meanwhile,

"I'm really sorry I'm late!" Reynolds casually exclaimed, making his way towards the platform.

"I'm gonna kill that brat!" Nelson angrily whispered.

"Better late than never" Blake mockingly commented.

Hearing Blake's words, Nelson immediately gave him a wicked glare, directing his intense bloodlust towards the Instructor. "Easy mate, I'm just messing with you!" Blake blurted in fear.

"Lupercio my man, how's it going?" Reynolds casually asked.

"You're late!" Lupercio said with a stoic expression.

"Cut me some slack bro" Reynolds awkwardly chuckled.

"What the hell are you doing? I swear I'm going to kill you when we get home!" Nelson couldn't help but erupt with anger.

"Sorry Dad!" Reynolds said, ruffling his bright crimson hair.

Seeing the present display, The audience simultaneously released an outburst of laughter, placing Nelson in an uncomfortable position.

"Reynolds, place your right hand on the system" Lupercio said.

"Alright bro" Reynolds replied.

"I'm not your bro" Lupercio angrily replied.

"Whatever you say man!" Reynolds said, placing his hand on the System in front of him.

"Affinity detected. Affinity Identification: Lightning…" A Computerized voice said.

"And Flames" The Voice promptly added.

Hearing this, both the Audience and the Head instructors were stunned, as their mouths dropped in awe.

"Lightning and Flames"

"A Dual Mage!"

"That's awesome" The audience exclaimed excitedly.

"So your son is actually a Dual Mage" A Female Instructor said, staring at Nelson for answers.

"No wonder the old guy hid his own son from the world" Blake commented wryly, causing Nelson to twitch his left eye.

"Yes, Reynolds has a dual affinity, but he still has a lot to learn before he can be called a Dual Mage " Nelson said, angrily glaring at his son, who was presently wearing a sadistic smirk.

Two different runic symbols appeared on both of Reynolds hands, with one signifying fire and the latter, Lightning. Shortly after the runic symbols disappeared, Lupercio calmly said " Congratulations Reynolds, You're now a student of Solaris Arcane Academy".

"Thanks bro" Reynolds casually winked.

"I am not your bro!" Lupercio glared at the awkward youth who was walking away.

"Whatever you say man" Reynolds waved at the stoic instructor.

"Wow!"

"He's handsome"

"Reynolds' so awesome!"

"I love you!"

"Please notice me!" The Teenage females in the audience simultaneously exclaimed.

"Next we have, Chioma Chinedu" Lupercio said.

Almost immediately, a girl awkwardly stood up from the commoners section of the hall. She had short brown hair, white colored eyes and fair lustrous skin. Despite being Seventeen years old, Chioma resembled a fifteen year old. Her beauty was unrivaled among her peers, which placed her closely on par with Yetunde.

She quickly made her way to the platform, earnestly staring at Lupercio.

"Her name, Chioma Chinedu" Yetunde said.

"Yes, she's from Eufrica, Nigerian District to be precise" Olamide responded.

"How come I haven't heard about her" She asked. Hearing this, Olamide couldn't help but chuckle "It's not possible to know the name of every Commoner in Eufrica" He commented.

"Umm, I guess you're right" She answered, staring at the stage.

"Kindly place you're hand on the system" Lupercio said.

"Okay" Chioma answered, placing her hand on the door shaped glass structure in front of her.

"Affinity detected. Affinity Identification: Water….." The Computerized voice promptly said.

"Ice…." The Voice added.

"Primordial Ice" The Voice promptly added.

"What!"

"Primordial Ice!"

"Impossible"

"Idiot, The system just said it!" The audience broke out in shock.

Just like The Azure flames, Primordial Ice was a rare form of ice. Unlike it's regular counterpart, it had a transparent, pure white color and doesn't require the presence of water for freezing. It's also believed that Primordial Ice had existed even before the creation of Earth.

"Wow, this is just….just weird" A female instructor said.

"What do you mean?" Nelson asked.

"The rate of enrolled students with Rare grade Affinities feels unreal" She replied.

"Rosa's right, A male instructor said.

"Usually, the rate of enrolling students with Rare grade Affinities is Zero to One, but this year is different. Just now, we've enrolled four different Rare grade students" The male instructor added

"You've finally said something smart Clark" Blake said sarcastically.

"Real funny Blake!" Clark angrily responded.

"First we had the Space Kid, then it was Yetunde's shocking Azure flame awakening…" Nelson said, stroking his chin.

"Then Reynolds dual affinity and now Chioma's Primordial Ice" Rosa politely interrupted.

"Do you know what that means?" Blake said with a frown.

"What?" The Others curiously inquired.

"It means…. We've got extra work to do!" Blake sarcastically exclaimed with a hearty chuckle.

"What is wrong with you?" Rosa angrily asked.

"Classic Blake" Clark said.

"Blake…Sometimes, I feel like you're a copy of Reynolds" Nelson said, shaking his head with disappointment.

"Nope, Reynolds' a copy of me!" Blake brightly said.

A blue colored runic symbol which signified Water, briefly appeared on Chioma's right hand and disappeared instantly.

"Congratulation, you're now a student of Solaris Arcane Academy" Lupercio said.

"Thank you" Chioma politely said with a graceful curtsy.

Wasting no time, she bolted back to her seat, not even minding the stares she got from the audience.

"Next, we have Oliver Saché" Lupercio said.

Almost immediately, a young male stood from the Commoners section, walking straight towards the platform. Unlike the other enrolled youth, he seemed way more younger. He had black curly hair and wore a "Harry Potter" styled glasses.

"Kindly place you hand on the system right in front of you" Lupercio said, glaring at the young boy standing in front of him.

Following his orders, Oliver placed his hand the glass shaped door, prompting the system's reactivation

"Affinity detected. Affinity Identification: Earth" The computerized voice said.

Almost immediately a brown colored runic symbol which signified earth, briefly appeared on his right hand and instantly disappeared.

"Congratulation, you're now a student of Solaris Arcane Academy" Lupercio nonchalantly said.

"Thank you" Oliver politely said, walking back to his seat.

The induction process continued throughout the entire day, with a total of a hundred students being inducted into the Academy.

At the end of day, everyone including Royals, Nobles and commoners, all departed the arena in an orderly manner, with each of them heading home to their various destination.

Meanwhile,

Solaris Arcane Academy.

Lupercio was seen walking into a room. The room was completely dark and seemingly empty. Inside the darkness, an oval shaped mirror appeared out of the blue, levitating in mid air. The mirror had a pitch black color but still seemed reflective, emitting an ominous crimson colored energy.

Despite the sudden appearance of the grotesque mirror, Lupercio didn't seem worried. Instead, he was actually delighted the mirror appeared.

"What is it Lupercio?" A voice boomed out of the strange mirror.

"She's back" Lupercio said with a maniacal grin.

"The Witch of Chaos is back!" He promptly added.

Hearing this, The energy that oozed out from the mirror, drastically increased, illuminating the dark room, "Splendid, It's time to put our plans in motion!" The voice exclaimed with excitement.

"That's right!" Lupercio commented.

"All of creation shall bow before me!" The voice exclaimed, causing the strange mirror to shatter into various shards of glass, which instantly dissolved and disappeared into thin air.

Hearing what the Voice form the Mirror said, Lupercio couldn't help himself but sadistically cackle, as his eyes soon turned pitch black.

"All of Creation shall bow to me!"
