Academy of Chaos

“…… She’s a failure from birth” The words of her Grandmother echoed continuously in Yetunde’s head, as she aimlessly wandered the forest, with tears running down her pitiful eyes. Her attention and interest immediately got piqued, when she heard an eerie but peaceful song, alongside a cluster of weird but beautiful glowing particles, originating from a cave, deep within the treacherous ends of the forest. At the entrance of the cave, she felt a grotesque energy surge, which for some reason attracted her towards itself, thereby distorting her sense of reasoning. On entering the cave, Yetunde was immediately greeted by a group of infuriated witches. Originally wanting to kill her for intruding, Yetunde finds redemption and solace in the coven. The Queen of the Coven, Ella, surprisingly gifts Yetunde with a rare Arcane treasure, which she believed would help the young girl out of her present predicament. Shortly after the encounter with the witches, Yetunde was suddenly accepted to school at the most prestigious Academy of magic, known famously as “Solaris Arcane Academy”. Her acceptance was due to the sudden awakening of her innate Affinity. CHAPTER 7: She has no Affinity

"The next on the list is none other than...Yetunde Adebayo!" He said.

Immediately her name was called, Yetunde dramatically stood from her seat. Before she could move, her father grabbed her hand while staring earnestly into her eyes.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" He said.

"Don't worry Dad, with or without an Affinity, I'm getting into this academy" She reassured her father with a smile.

"Alright then, good luck!" He replied seeing his daughter's relentless smile.

As Yetunde slowly made her way to the platform, the audience fixed their wicked gaze on her.

"I heard she doesn't have an Affinity!"

"Are they going to allow her to take the test?"

"Is she really going to embarrass herself in front of everyone?"

"She has no Affinity!"

"This is pointless, why did she even come here"

The audience murmured amongst themselves as Yetunde walked towards the Platform.

Meanwhile,

On The High Table.

The Principal and The Head Instructors were busy discussing about the present situation.

"Are we sure we should let her take the test?" A female Instructor said.

"I'm not sure, I wouldn't want her to embarrass herself but still, I don't want to deny her this opportunity" Nelson sadly said.

"Are you guys dumb or something?" A Male Instructor said, mischievously grinning.

"What do you mean Blake?" Another instructor asked.

"Look at her, A normal person won't even bother showing up today" Blake said, fixing his gaze on Yetunde.

"And so?" Nelson curiously inquired.

"What's your point Blake?" One of the Instructors asked.

"She's not dumb…..I think she has something up her sleeves" Blake answered.

"Blake's right, Let's see what happens next!" Nelson bravely commented.

Yetunde noticed Blake's stare and immediately reciprocated it, with a sadistic smile. Seeing the young girl's smile, Blake couldn't help himself, as he released a massive sinister grin, throwing his fellow Instructors into a State of confusion.

"Show us Yetunde, show the world what you're hiding!" Blake thought to himself, staring at Yetunde as she climbed unto the platform.

"Are you sure you want to take the induction test?" Lupercio asked with a stoic expression.

"Yes" She nodded in affirmation and proceeded, by placing her right hand on the door shaped glass.

With all eyes on her, Yetunde earnestly stared at the Arcane system in front of her. After a couple of Minutes, Nothing happened to her greatest surprise.

"Useless!"

"She's obviously wasting our time!"

"Get off the stage!"

The Audience simultaneously exclaimed. Hearing their complaint's, Yetunde instantly got infuriated, releasing an intense bloodlust directed towards the audience. As they felt the pressure she exerted on them, the audience immediately zipped their mouths, solemnly staring at the young girl.

Out of the blue, a computerized voice echoed throughout the entire arena "Affinity detected. Affinity Identification: ….. Error...Error...Error…..Error!"

"What the hell?"

"What's going on?" The audience exclaimed.

Apart from Yetunde's bloodlust, the audience could feel an ominous energy, surging through the room. Even the Head Instructor's and Principal, soon succumbed to the pressure of the Weird Energy.

"What the hell is that energy?" An Instructor frightfully yelled.

"Where is it coming from?" Nelson added.

"Could this be an attack?" Blake curiously inquired.

Meanwhile,

On the platform.

Lupercio's remained the same, as it seemed like he wasn't affected by the Energy surge. He fixed his cold eyes on Yetunde, who was presently trying to free her right hand which was stuck to the System.

"This Energy, there's no doubt about it….." He thought to himself, when he noticed something strange.

Firstly, he noticed that the strange energy surge originated from Yetunde. Secondly, he noticed a runic symbol being inscribed into Yetunde's left hand. The symbol glowed with an eerie Violet color, which was noticed by only Lupercio and Yetunde.

"This energy surge and that symbol is definitely….. Chaos" Lupercio thought to himself. Internally, he displayed a wicked grin while he visibly remained neutral.

''Damn, what's going on, why can't I remove my hand from this thing?" Yetunde worriedly thought.

After a couple o seconds of struggle, her hand was released from its trap, with the strange energy which surged from her body, completely disappearing . Immediately the audience noticed that the weird energy was gone, they simultaneously erupted in confusion. "What is was that?"

"We need answers!"

"What are you waiting for?"

"That machine of theirs is obviously faulty!"

As they all exclaimed, Nelson slowly made his way to platform, solemnly staring at Yetunde. On the platform, he conducted a close inspection on the Arcane System and discovered nothing wrong with it.

"From my recent inspection, I have found nothing wrong with The Arcane System!" Nelson said, sternly gazing at the audience.

"Then what happened to it?" Someone from the audience exclaimed.

"We're yet to figure that out. It might actually be an external interference but I can guarantee you all, that the malfunction that took place now, was not caused by the equipment, and for that, I will allow Yetunde to retake the Induction Test" Nelson angrily answered .

"That's bullshit!"

"It's obvious, she doesn't have an Affinity"

"What is she even doing her?"

The audience erupted with anger and bloodlust, directed at both Yetunde and Nelson.

"I didn't ask for you're opinion" Nelson furiously yelled, causing the angry audience to casually zip their mouths and watch.

"Yetunde, if you may" He said to her while pointing at the system.

"Alright sir" She respectfully bowed and immediately placed her hand on The Arcane system.

Almost immediately, a computerized voice echoed, shocking the entire audience. "Affinity detected. Affinity Identification: Azure Flames".

Hearing the system, the hall immediately became silent, as everyone including The Head Instructors and Nelson, fixed their gaze on the young girl in front of them.

"Impossible!"

"So she had an Affinity after all"

"Azure Flames, that's unreal" The audience mumbled.

"The Flame of Eons, how extraordinary!" Nelson exclaimed with enthusiasm.

"I knew she had something up her sleeve" Blake rejoiced.

"But the dress she's wearing has no sleeves" An Instructor wryly commented.

"Huh?" Blake angrily replied.

Just like before, a runic symbol which glowed bright crimson and signified Fire, briefly appeared on Yetunde's right hand and immediately disappeared.

"Congratulation Yetunde, you're now a student of Solaris Arcane Academy" Nelson brightly said.

"Thank you Mr. Nelson" She politely curtsied, shifting her attention towards the audience.

Her body erupted with Blue Flame essence as her eyes glowed Azure, gravely shocking the entire audience. They soon felt an intimidating aura oozing out of Yetunde's body, as she presently resembled an actual Goddess

This display lasted for about a minute and everything returned back to normal. Yetunde also returned to her seat, wearing a proud smirk which everyone could clearly see. "Look at their faces. Did they really think I didn't have an Affinity" She thought to herself.

She immediately took her seat by her Father's side, staring solemnly into his lost eyes.

"Dad, what's wrong?" She curiously inquired.

"Azure Flames…When, how, where?" He rapidly asked.

Hearing her Dad's words, Yetunde couldn't help but chuckle awkwardly "I awakened it about a week ago, the last time grandma visited us" She replied, earnestly staring at her grandmother while hoping for an apology.

"Fine, I'm sorry for calling you a failure!" The Old woman reluctantly apologized.

"Apology accepted" She replied shifting her attention to Olamide.

"Azure Flames!" He frantically exclaimed in awe.

"Yes Dad, that's my Affinity" She commented with a slight chuckle.

"That's just awesome. You're just like your old man!" He brightly said.

"If you say so!" She wryly replied.

"I do say so. With my Silver Lightning and your Azure flames, we're a perfect match" He explained.

"Alright Dad, I understand what you're saying" She commented, staring happily at her Father.

"I'm so proud of you" He said, giving his daughter a pat on her head.

"I told you Dad, with or without an Affinity, I'm getting into this Academy" She boldly boasted, causing her Father to release a hearty chuckle.

They returned their attention to the ongoing ceremony, earnestly staring at the platform. The hall was as noisy as ever, with majority of the audience still baffled by Yetunde's surprising Affinity.

Being irritated, Lupercio cleared his throat while giving the audience a wicked glare, causing them to return to their former state of silence.

"Now that's over, we'll move unto the next person" He coldly said, glancing through the scroll.

'Next we have, Reynolds Heming"
