24 New Neighbours

Chris exited his capsule after logging out of the game. He checked the clock and was relieved that there was still time for his sister to arrive from school.

"If I remember it correctly, Abby told me that we got a new neighbour on this day when I returned from work at night, but because I was too engrossed in work, I didn't pay much attention to her. Last time, she joined the game long before me and earned a lot. With the money she earned from the game, she moved away to a rich neighbourhood.

She even became one of the protectors of the world, known as Frontier Guardians. I missed a golden opportunity back then. Now I shouldn't lose that opportunity no matter what", Chris decided and walked to the front door.

As he expected, a new neighbour has arrived. Workers were done unloading goods into the house and were on their way to leave.

Chris closed his house and went to the neighbour's house to introduce himself. The new neighbour would live right in front of his house, so it would be good to introduce themselves to each other. This was something that he failed to do so in his last life.

Sure he knew her, but the relationship stopped at being neighbours. His sister progressed better than him in that field.

After arriving at the neighbour's door, he knocked on the door twice, seeing that the door was closed at the moment.

A few moments later, the door opened revealing a young girl, a year or two older than Chris. She has violet eyes and silver-white hair, like heroines in fantasy novels and games.

His mind froze the moment he saw her. It was like it was his first time seeing her. Back then he was so busy with earning he didn't pay much attention to girls in the beginning. Now seeing her again, he couldn't help but berate himself for missing such a beauty.

"Hello, my name is Chris. I along with my sister live in the apartment in front of yours. I saw that we got a new neighbours and came to greet ", Chris greeted her with a smile.

The girl smiled, "Hi, I am Samantha. I just moved into this apartment along with my sister and a friend from college", she introduced herself.

"There were three? I didn't remember that there were three. Which one...wait, the name that I remember was not Samantha, it must be her sister or friend", Chris thought in his mind.

"Oh, Welcome to the neighbourhood. It looks like you are busy, I'll let you do your things. We can get acquainted later when we are free again", Chris spoke. They just moved in. There should be a lot of unpacking to do.

Moreover, he has a lot of time to get to know them, now that he would be staying at home and earning money through the game. He has a lot of time and chances to get acquainted.

Chris returned home and prepared some snacks for his sister.

After all, going to school and studying isn't as easy as everyone presumes. There would be a lot of competition between children at school which would bring some nasty behaviours out. In order to not stress them out, eating healthy is necessary, as well as spending time with others.

Once his sister returned home, he spent the entire evening until dinner with her. Only then did he return to the game.

Once he logged into the game, he checked the World Announcements. There were a few announcements that came out while he was grinding near Frost City.

He cleared one dungeon but there were two more. Also, it was just for the village he started. There are other villages. There are Wild Field Bosses in the novice regions. There are many announcements regarding them.

[Player Emperor defeated...]

[Player Immortal defeated...]

[Player Orion defeated...]

This was not what Chris interested in, but the main city entry announcements. With fewer players, the professional players advanced faster. A few had reached the main cities, though which cities they chose Chris has no idea.

There were second and third arrival announcements but that is it. After that, there are none. So he only knew that the players arrived at the main cities. There was no mention of Frost City in the announcements made and that was the only best thing that he got.

"It doesn't matter anyway. The competition here would be small compared to other cities. It was already a blessing. Some would come here definitely, and I can't stop that from happening. I should seize as many opportunities as possible before the consequences of my meddling this early shows".

He then went to the guild to find a quest and a suitable dungeon to grind.
