Return to the Academy

I don't have any idea how something like this sword could've possibly ended up here but that clearly was not my problem as that had nothing to do with me, but what matters now is me getting that katana.

This was after all the main reason why I even came here, the shard was a huge bonus don't get me wrong but I'm not going back to the academy with that bum ass katana that I've been using for the past five years. That thing is on its last legs. I had to get this katana, the fact that it was a katana alone was enough for me to blow my account out of the water let alone the runes that were actually abyssal ones made it mandatory for me to get it. But what made my blood pulse was that even though I was an abyssal demon...I still couldn't understand the runes.

Now the reason for that could be that it lacks abyssal arcana or I might need to drop my blood on the sword.

"You getting it? It is the only sword you use after all, even though you will make more enemies." Everen asked but I honestly ignored him as I wasn't bothering to answer such a stupid question especially after he answered it right after. As for making more enemies? Even if I did nothing I would be making enemies for multiple reasons, but hey it's not my fault that my opps can't resist my greatness.

"The starting price is one million noctcoin with every bid after being a minimum of 250,000," announced Lia as she stared at Night Firmament with intrigue as it was clear that she was also interested in the runes that were on the blade.

"Four million," said Duan Ru Feng in a clear attempt to piss me off since his main weapon was a glaive but the move was pointless as I could outbid him out of the water, but if he wants to embarrass himself so bad then he can catch me at the academy and I will be glad to accommodate him.

"Six million," I responded, I had no time for this. As soon as I get the sword I was on my way back to the academy, I would just comprehend the shard on the way back as with my racial traits and comprehension it wouldn't take long at all.

"Ten million." Ru Feng responded, "Hakari do you really have enough capital to continue this?" He asked as I'm sure there was a scheme behind this but, to be honest, it wouldn't even matter as he would have some serious things to deal with in the future to even worry about me.

"Twenty million." This fucking two-faced bitch Duke Valerian joined in. Seriously why the fuck is this fool even getting involved, last time I checked this poor excuse of a father used gauntlets. Why the hell is he getting involved.

"Zamir you should stay away from swords as far as possible. Your daughter tends to be the perfect sheath for them if you catch my drift." Ru Feng said in a serious tone as if he was seriously giving a friend a warning.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!" Duke Valareian screamed as Duke Destria howled in laughter.

"Forty million" I calmly said as I could no longer be bothered to be here. Just give me the swords so I can go. I got shit to do.

"Going once...twice...SOLD!" Lia shouted as I breathed a sigh of relief...finally this damn auction was over.

I looked at Everen who was struggling to hold back his laugh from the argument between Zamir and Duan Ru Feng and said "Everen after I pay for this katana I'm going straight back to the academy, I've drawn too much attention with the items I have won and I'm sure these people will send someone to kill me."

Everen expression changed to something serious as he said "Alright, your AV is parked around back so getting there from our position should not take long, and don't worry I'll send the blackmail we gained today to your holocube. I would say good luck but you won't need it."

"True. Also when you go back home give this to my mother" I said as I sent him a document through the holocube Everen checked it and he broke into a cold sweat as he saw its details.

"Did you...did you plan this just now?" He asked in disbelief.

"Not really. I was always going to do this after I killed Zantar, I was only thinking about who I would be the scapegoat and now a perfect one has arrived in front of us. I originally was going to use the Lunar Dragons crown prince but it seems that he will be useful in something else I have set up." I said with a mysterious smile on my face.

"Hakari, what are you planning?" Everen said with a mischievous smile on his face. While Everen was very lustful he was actually dangerously smart, he just plays around a lot.

"Let's just say we will be visiting the Solar Dragons very soon" I stated and watched Everen have a smile of pure joy on his face.

He patted my back and said "That's why you're my favorite nephew."

"I know," I replied as I waited for the maid to bring my weapon.

Not long after she came with the katana inside a scabbard and handed it to me. I pulled out the katana and the runes glowed faintly, I still couldn't understand the runes but I was sure I would soon enough. I put the katana back and paid with my card, after the maid left I stood up and looked back at Everen and gave him a task that would be crucial in my plan with the academy.

"Everen after you give my mother the document, go find Azir and tell him that he should assassinate Duan Ru Feng's favorite whore. Remember not his fiance, I'm talking about the woman that he sees behind her back, and make sure it looks like it was Zantar who did it."

Fear filled Everen's face as he looked at me and shook his head while he said "There is really no line you won't cross since you obviously know what it means when you say 'make it look like Zantar did it' but fine, it will be done now go back you don't want to be late for your first day of school don't you?" he said with a smile on his face.

"Fuck you." I said and walked out but I could still hear his laugh in the backround.

Leaving the auction house and sneaking back to my AV, I didn't fully relax until I was a good distance away from the auction.

"When I step back in the academy I won't be able to leave unless it's a field trip or something along those lines and I don't want to be inspected for the shard so it's best that I comprehend it now. I should be done by the time we get into the academy."

Taking out the small black shard that pulsed with 3 essences that were so pure I could only stare at it in shock for a brief moment but I snapped myself out of it and a serious expression formed on my face. After using the shard I would reach the peak of the third layer in dao comprehension in the Dao of Destruction and the beginning of the fourth layer of dao comprehension of the Dao of Space and Time therefore completing one of the steps to enter the Realm of Dao. If I was being honest going through the mortal transformation stage of cultivation was far too easy, I could go to the peak of heavenly transformation right now if I wanted to but then I thought what would be good about that? Why do that when I can spend my time comprehending my foundational daos and making as such progress as possible.

The Realm of Dao is said to be the longest stage of cultivation as to advance through that stage is based on your dao comprehension more than it is arcana and the length depends on what your foundational daos are. I don't know what they mean by that but I'm sure they'll explain it when school finally starts.
