Abyss Mage

In the middle of a battlefield, a child is found, the creation of man's love for war. He will have to face many dangers to retrieve his memories and discover the reason for his existence. The only certainty is that true human nature is not good, yet he will face this world as an adventurer and will try to understand this chaotic world in which he appeared. In this novel, the MC is neither good nor bad. At first, he will have a childlike and antisocial mentality, but the surrounding environment will shape him, so his actions are purely natural and are not always the best to be taken. The nature of the MC's powers ends up putting him in certain unexpected situations, and yes, with a slight touch of necromancy, but no systems or such things, the MC will have to become strong by pure training. This is not just a story about getting stronger. There are several characters with broken personalities who are also suffering in this world. The world is in a state of constant war, and there is injustice everywhere. The MC himself also commits part of it. His moral actions change over time and are NOT CONSTANT. Everyone goes through changes during their lives, and the same applies to the MC here. *No harem and almost no romance at all. *English is not my first language. Quick update from the author: I wrote this story many years ago, and a lot has changed since then. Now, after all these years, I’m finally back with a new book called Demon Templar. You can find it on Kindle!"

Saving Non-Humans

Redwig seeing me running along with all Hjmar Guild screamed.

"WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY?"

But he also followed and everyone went rushing towards the settlement.

Most of the settlement was already burning in flames, but every one of the orcs was dispersed everywhere.

The assault towards the orcs couldn't come in a better time. They were all eating and feasting in the non-humans there, with their guard down since the non-humans not being able to defend themselves.

Claire was the first one to kill an orc on that battlefield and she did with mastery using Carine's bow. But Danton was also rushing with his new shield and sword, Rudo now wields a big round shield made of wood with the center made of iron and a full set of chain mail.

Their coordination got even better since the last time Gremory saw them, after all, they were rank D but now they are rank C.

'Impressive.' Gremory thought after seeing movements that even he was not able to do.

Mages usually don't have any physical aptitude, so the movements of Gremory were far beyond average when training with just mages, but now he could see that he was far behind them at physical ability.

Gremory had barely any mana left but there was a thing he was good, thanks to Robert, he knew how to stay calm during the fight and this enables him to see the full battlefield as a whole.

"EVERYONE SURROUND THE SETTLEMENT! ARCHERS USE FIRE ARROWS IN THE BUILDINGS TO MAKE THEM BURN. DON'T LET THEM LEAVE THE SETTLEMENT BUT ONLY DEFEND YOUR POSITIONS." Gremory screamed to everybody there.

He didn't forget Robert's words, but they would not be able to defeat the orcs in any other way, and by doing this he could try to at least save some of the non-humans there.

"HJMAR GUILD AND EVERY RANK A COME WITH ME TO EVACUATE THE NON-HUMANS OF THIS SETTLEMENT." Gremory finished his orders and rushed to the settlement without seeing the confused expressions on everyone's faces.

Gremory was talking about risking the lives of the best adventurers there to save the lives of non-humans.

No one followed him, until Redwig scream.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL WAITING FOR? YOU HEARD THE ORDERS!"

Every guard in Lathrium spoke of a monster that brings deads back to life and the actions of Gremory along with his appearance only confirmed this rumor, so they started to think that the non-humans were going to be used in some kind of necromancy art.

Instead of getting angry for having to save the non-humans, they started to feel sorry for them, but the 12 ranks A of the G-17 squad followed while everyone else formed a line around the settlement while the archers were setting everything on fire.

The tactic was simple but functional, they would set fire on the settlement while the orcs were too busy eating and raiding, and they would kill every orc that tried to leave until fire burn them all.

Claire was the first in line despite her being an archer, but soon we grouped. The streets were filled with blood, the smell of flesh was everywhere, and looked like we were walking inside someone's bowels. It was hard to tell what direction to follow since the non-humans were being killed in the entire settlement and we would not be able to save many of them.

But after a scream of what looked like a non-human girl nearby, Claire rushed without waiting for us and everyone just followed her lead.

When we passed the corner of the street, there were four small children with their parents dead on the side. It was clear that they would be next.

Claire screamed and used her bow so quickly that two arrows were launched in less than five seconds killing two of the orcs. The arrows hit the eyes of both orcs, it was a perfect accuracy.

Gremory was surprised by seeing this, but he was even more after seeing her rage. Just like the aura made by the mages, what he was feeling was pure rage coming out of her. Every sadness, every feeling in there was being replaced by the rage and this was giving her power.

But there were many more orcs to kill there, fortunately, everyone started to fight with them.

Redwig screamed "MIRPHOR" and a rune inscribed in his armor shine, while the aggro of every orc surrounding us, started to be directed towards him.

Most of the runes made by Runic Blacksmiths were sold to warriors, it was a way to give extra power to warriors, and even needing mana, there were ways of storing and using it. Just like Redwig did now to attract the aggro of the enemies. These runes were usually just used by the best adventurers since the cost being pretty high.

Yet, Redwig had some of them in the armor, weapons, and shield. His equipment was far beyond what even Nogand was capable of.

The new sword of Gremory was also very good, and he could activate the effect in every swing without using almost no mana at all. And so he did killing one orc after another one without using spells.

Claire quickly reached the children there and with the support of the rest of the Hjmar Guild, they evacuate them into behind the adventurer's line outside the settlement.

After killing the orcs around us, the scene just looked horrible with the half-eaten bodies of the non-humans. Redwig looked direct at me and said.

"So this is what will look like if we let them reach Lathrium."

"Don't worry, we won't let that happen." Gremory replied while cleaning the blood off his sword.

"I hope that you are right."

After the quick talk, they started to follow the cries of help once again. After all, there were plenty more non-humans to save and too little time.

The line of adventurers also started to become chaotic once the orcs realized that, they were trapped. It was all or nothing now.

LET THEM BURN!!!!
