Chapter 15

I woke up, refreshed. That was the first sign that today was going to be an odd day.

I got ready for the day. Fortunately, I had a pair of pants that I stole from Xavier and Ezra. No, I didn't steal them from their room. I asked for permission, was denied, took them anyway. It's all good. I bet they don't even miss them.

"There are my pants!" Xavier shouted as he pointed to my lower body like it had offended him. How rude.

"Leave the pants. Well get them later" Ezra said

Over my decomposed body!

"We have a plan to get into Razael. We should meet with the king first though" he continued

We walked to the kings office when we ran into Leah.

"Did the king summon you guys here as well?" She asked

"Yep" Xavier said a bit to enthusiastically

We walked into the room together and the door shut behind us. We looked back to see Leo who closed the door. I guess he made himself visible to the others.

The king, who was under a pile of paperwork, poked his head out and smiled.

"I'm almost finished with this paperwork. Just a few more days and I will be off to Razael. Do you guys have a plan to sneak in?" He asked

Ezra walked in front of us and presented to us the plan he and Xavier made.

"We will go to the outskirts of town and wait until night to get in. We should be able to find a way to sneak around the guards until then." He held up a bottle of blue liquid "From there, we will drink this. It's an invisibility potion that only works for a few hours at most. Hopefully by then we should be inside Razael."

"Alright, once you get in, you will need to find a place without guards. Like the countryside. And stay far away from the king. He may be my younger brother but I don't trust him."

"Understood" Ezra said

Leah, who had been listening this whole time, spoke up, "Excuse me but what exactly is my role here?"

Ezra was about to speak when Xavier butted in.

"Since you lived in Razael for most of your life. I figured-"

Ezra jammed his elbow into Xavier's ribs hard

"Oof-...WE figured...that you could show us around and help guide us." He finished

She got the picture and nodded.

The king clapped his hands and said "Then you five should leave today"

"Five?" Xavier asked

"Leo will be joining you group"

"But shouldn't he be protecting you on your journey?" Ezra asked

"I will be fine. I have an entire army to protect me. And you know, I can protect myself. Can't keep a million lives safe if I can't even keep myself alive."

He let us go pack for the trip. Not too heavy and not too light.

I guess Xavier didn't get the memo because he packed three entire bags.

"Why did you bring so much?" Ezra exclaimed

"This isn't even enough for one week!" He replied

"I'm sure you brought enough for a small family"

I looked through the bags. One had shampoo and all kinds of necessities all squished into a small bag. Another had clothes. And the last one had weapons. Would you believe me if I said the bag with clothes was the biggest?

"Put two bags back! We don't need all that!" Ezra said

"You may not need it but I do!"

They bickered back and forth like an old couple.

I looked back at the bags and wished that they were smaller. As the thought crossed my mind, the bags started shrinking.

I picked them up and showed Xavier.

"What is thi- are these my bags?!?" He yelled

Ezra laughed out loud while Xavier cried in the corner.

Did he want them bigger?

I looked at the bags and made them normal size.

I brought the bags to Xavier to make him shut up.

Leah stared in wonder. "How did she…?"

Leo patted her on the back and said "We don't ask questions."

What does that mean?

Ezra instructed me to turn all of our bags into mini size so that they were easier to carry.

After we were all ready, we left the castle.
