Chapter Ninety-Six: The Queen of Nyflona

Ren and the others were welcomed inside the palace. It was filled with luxurious items, not to mention tons of security.

"Wow...just wow." Serenity said, looking around.

"Luxurious may be an understatement...it's extravagant." Scarlet said.

Ren looked around and noticed the guards staring them all down.

"They're very alert, to say the least." Ren said.

"Well, they are charged with protecting the Queen. It makes sense they are so on edge." Lucilia mentioned.

Fenian then chimed in "We have two hundred soldiers guarding the palace in order to protect Queen Eldriel and her children. Each and every single one of us would die with hesitation if it meant protecting them."

"As a Queen myself, I respect that kind of loyalty." Ashastha said before asking. "How long have you been a guard?"

"Sixteen years of faithful service." Fenian said.

"Can you tell us about the royal family?" Lily asked.

"Queen Eldriel is the most powerful woman on the planet. Nobody is her equal. Her daughters, Alyndra and Caestrianna, assist her in running the country in various manners. Alyndra is very kind, and Caestrianna is highly intelligent. Both inheriting the best traits from their mother." Fenian said with a smile.

"You must really care about them." Serenity commentated.

"Of course, to us guards, the royal family is our family. The Queen is our mother. The princesses are our daughters. We would do anything for them, especially if it meant dying to protect them." Fenian explained.

The group walked over to a giant door before Fenian opened it. Inside was a great hall leading to three thrones, each on top of a small staircase, with the middle chair sitting higher than the other two.

"Remember, Ren, be respectful." Lucilia warned Ren.

"I will." Ren said.

The group were escorted near the thrones, and soon trumpet-like instruments began playing, and Fenian had begun speaking.

"Arriving now, Princess Caestrianna Ewarvyn!"

Soon, a door to the side opened up, and a beautiful blonde-haired girl walked inside. She was wearing a light blue dress, and her hair was beautifully braided. Her light blue eyes matched her dress.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to the palace. My mother and sister should arrive soon." Caestrianna said.

Caestrianna sat down on the left-most throne, and soon afterwards, the trumpet-like instruments had begun playing again.

Fenian took position and said "Now introducing, Princess Alyndra Ewarvyn!"

Soon, out of the same door that Caestrianna entered, a girl with long pink hair and blue eyes entered. She was just as beautiful as her sister, but they did have their differences. Caestrianna had more grace than Alyndra, but Alyndra, on the other hand, had more innocent charm in comparison.

Any man would fold immediately when facing these two; it was no wonder why they were the princess' of Nyflona.

"Hello! My name is Alyndra; it's a pleasure to meet all of you!" Alyndra introduced herself before taking a seat.

Finally, the trumpets had begun again, as had Fenian.

"Now introducing the beautiful Queen of Nyflona, Eldriel Ewarvyn!"

The doors opened one last time, and the Queen herself entered. She had very long pink hair, a lighter shade than her daughter Alyndra, but shared the same eye color as them both. She had a very queenly aura around her—grace, beauty, intelligence, and authority—all wrapped into one. She immediately got everyone's attention in the room.

"Hello there, Princess Lucilia. It has been a long time, hasn't it?" Eldriel said it in a very graceful voice.

"That is has, Queen Eldriel. It's an honor to see you again." Lucilia said, but then she bowed to the Queen, as did the rest of the group following her example.

The Queen then sat on her throne and smiled "Rise."

Lucilia then stood up, as did the rest.

"Now I know you, Lucilia, but who are the others with you?" Eldriel asked.

"First up is my husband, Prince Ren." Lucilia said introducing you.

"It's an honor, your majesty." Ren said to the Queen.

"Hmm...he's not from Volaria, is he?" Eldriel asked.

"No, your grace." Lucilia said. "He is from a planet named Earth."

"You married someone from a different planet and one at war with Volaria? I doubt your father was very pleased." Eldriel said. "Well, it's great to meet you, Prince Ren."

"Now, this is Queen Ashastha and her guard, Laelli." Lucilia said, introducing the two.

"Another Queen? From what planet?" Eldriel asked.

"Versaerth. You're grace." Ashastha answered.

"Versaerth... I didn't know that planet had anyone living on it." Caestrianna said, chiming in.

"We'll, it's good to meet another Queen." Eldriel said. "Now how about the rest?"

"Yes." Lucilia said. "This is Scarlet, Lily, Serenity, and Eleonora. Like Ren, they are also from Earth. They serve as crew members on my ship."

"I never met anyone from Earth!" Alyndra said.

"We are a more underdeveloped civilization." Ren said. "We had only just discovered that other life existed in our galaxy not that long ago." 

"Hmm, so Lucilia. Please, would you tell me the purpose of this meeting?" Eldriel asked.

"I... ask for your support." Lucilia said.

"Support?" Eldriel asked.

"I have split away from Volarian's government and am currently at war with my father and a few of my siblings. I have come to ask you to support my faction." Lucilia said it nervously.

Eldriel didn't say anything, as she just closed her eyes in deep thought.

"Mother?" Caestrianna asked.

"Lucilia." Eldriel said.

"Yes, your grace." Lucilia said.

"I cannot join your war, especially not at the moment. As you know, I am fighting my own war on this planet. I cannot afford to also fight an intergalactic battle." Eldriel said.

"I know, which is why I'm offering a deal." Lucilia said.

"A deal?" Eldriel asked.

"If me and my team assist you in ending the war on this plane, we ask you to join our side and help me overthrow my father." Lucilia said.

"Who else have you asked to help you?" Eldriel asked.

"Queen Tsukiko and we are working on setting up an alliance with Earth." Lucilia explained.

"Hmm. I'll listen to your ideas, but I won't make any promises." Eldriel stated.

"That's all I ask."
