Tea Party With Brother

Resting on the bed she first woke up on, Mitsuna was lying on her back and thinking about her future.

Suddenly she sensed a big change in mana.

Looking at the door to the room, it slowly opened as a wheelchair was pushed in by a maid.

The boy sitting in the wheelchair seemed to be about 15 years old.

"So you are my sister now?"

'Oh, so this is my brother.'

Mitsuna nodded her head and was then promptly picked up by the maid and handed to the boy.

"Let's go then. Father wanted me to have a 'tea party' with you."

Riding along while sitting on her brother's knee, Mitsuna took a closer look at him.

Light blue eyes and grey hair with traces of red. He seemed thin and weak but the mana surrounding him was huge.

"What?"

He asked as Mitsuna looked away and enjoyed the ride. It's not like she could speak.

Hearing a sigh behind her Mitsuna was about to turn around but was stopped when they passed a gigantic window that overlooked the sea.

Mitsuna's eyes shined as she tried to take it all in. Yet she could only take in a part of it as they did not stop moving.

Reaching what Mitsuna presumed to be her brother's room, she could see that the room had a mostly dark palette. Dark blue and black were the primary colours.

Being placed on a tall chair by the maid, Mitsuna could see a seethrough cup of black tea and multiple sweets.

Her brother went to the other side of the table and took his cup of tea.

Taking a sip, he started speaking.

"So what's your name."

'He doesn't even know my name?!'

'...I don't know his either... thinking back, even father did not know my name until mother told him.'

While thinking so, Mitsuna reached for a sweet out of instinct.

"Are you going to answer?" her brother asked.

Still not being able to speak, Mitsuna could only look down at herself and activate her skill.

Her pupils turned to a moving white flame as her status appeared in front of her.

Waiting for her brother to read her name from it, she cancelled her skill and with it, the status disappeared.

"Hmm. Mitsuna huh."

'So she still can't speak. Although she does seem smart at least.'

"How many days were you in the egg?"

'Egg?'

'Now that he mentions it, mother has also mentioned that...'

As Mitsuna did not know of any egg, she tilted her head while biting down on her sweet.

'I am part bird and part dragon so maybe he meant how long it took for me to be born? I don't know man. I was just born. That's like asking a newborn pup about their own biological composition.'

"So you don't know? What a shame."

Mitsuna had finished her sweet and was waiting for her brother to continue talking as she reached for her tea.

"Careful it's hot."

She heard her brother say but still wanted to try.

Touching the cup, Mitsuna's hand was severely burned.

Pulling it back in pain, she could not think straight.

'F*ck f*ck damn it! Why is it so hot?! Can't you give something Colder to a newborn?!!'

Thinking that Mitsuna noticed her body automatically react and her hand raise and fall, slamming the air.

Just afterwards, a big chunk of ice the size of her body slammed down on the table, pushing everything to the ground.

Her brother on the other hand was shocked.

'She can summon elements already? It took me a week of steady training to get to that level.'

Calling the maid, he had her cast healing magic on his sister as well as ordering some more sweets.

Having the maids clean up and leave, he started talking.

"My name is Jameson Ashen. You can just call me Jameson. Nice to meet you sister."

He said with a smile.

"Let's get to a better topic."

'Somehow he seems a lot more friendly. Is it because I burned myself or is he just trying to calm me down?'

"Hmm. You already heard most of it from father... but he tends to leave details out."

"I don't know if you heard but our parents' names are Midithyr and Aryamis."

"You should be starting training with mother in about a weeks time since you are female."

"Since you can't speak yet you can just enjoy the sweets. When you can speak then feel free to ask me anything."

Mitsuna nodded as she took a sweet from the new plate that the maid brought and started eating.

...

Father had suddenly burst into my room while I was in the middle of training and told me to go meet my new sister. Something about a tea party.

I was hesitant at first since I don't know how to talk to children well but nevertheless, I still went.

On the way, I asked the maid about my sister's name but she did not know it.

I heard that my sister has been very quiet since getting out of the egg. So either she can't speak which only happens when you stay in for 3 days or longer, or she is just a quiet person. If it's the former, she might have more potential than me.

Reaching her room, the maid opened the door and pushed me in.

Seeing how she defencelessly looked my way with those big pink eyes, I could immediately tell.

'She is going to seduce so many men. I don't want to deal with the letters.'

Just in case the maid got the room wrong since she didn't share many similarities with mother nor father, I asked.

"So you are my sister now?"

Seeing her nod, I had the maid pick her up and place her on my knee.

'Girls should like this sort of thing right?'

On our way to my room, she suddenly took a close look at my face for a few seconds almost like trying to commit it to memory so she wouldn't forget it.

"What?" I asked, not knowing what she wanted to ask. Or say.

Yet I was ignored as my sister just turned back and kept looking around.

'Has she not been outside much?'

We soon passed a golden door that had hundreds of gems and artwork etched in it. The door was the room to the treasury and had been here for nearly 300 years.

But acting like it was just another side attraction, she completely ignored it and instead looked at the newly installed window opposite of it.

'Has she been out before? She only paid attention to new things. Or does gold and jewellery not interest her? Why did I even bother taking the long way with all the fancy looking locations if she doesn't even notice them?'

Looking at his sister's eyes, he could see them glow with excitement as she looked at the window.

'It's just a plain window. What's so interesting about it?'

Reaching my room, we had a little chat.

I found out she has the same Phoenix lineage skill that I do and that her name was Mitsuna.

She seemed to like the sweets. So I planned on getting more but she suddenly reached for the tea.

'Didn't father make this tea? Don't tell me you don't realize how hot it is...'

Just in case, I informed her of the danger.

"Careful it's hot."

Seeing her still grab the cup and suddenly pull her hand back from the heat, I was just about to call a maid but was stopped by a loud crashing sound.

It was a block of ice.

The tea and sweets flew onto the ground.

'Did she do that?' I thought.

'She can summon elements already? It took me a week of steady training to get to that level.'

I looked at my sister with shock.

'Maybe... Just maybe...'

The maids arrived right on cue.

'If things went right and my hunch is correct...'

Looking at my sister who seemed like she was about to cry, I stopped my line of thought.

Telling the maids to get more sweets and clean the mess, I decided to put that plan on hold. She was only a newborn after all.
