'Damn it. Here she goes again.'

'This would be so much easier if I could just talk.'

Inspecting it closely, she was confused.

Suddenly a small movie flashed before her eyes.
Her surroundings were replaced by a thick forest surrounding a single large tree in the middle of a plain.
Her father was replaced by a weird silver-coloured Fox and Cat Hybrid.
Her [Phoenix Regeneration] skill popped in front of her view.
It glitched and was replaced by 2 skills with different names and effects.
Before Mitsuna could see anything more, it turned back to normal.
Her father was still sitting there on his chair and there was no more forest.
Mitsuna had a headache.

Checking her status that had automatically closed, Mitsuna saw something weird.

Two new and glitched skills had appeared.
'What the hell... I don't have any memory of being in that kind of forest with any weird silver animals...'
Trying to ignore her headache, Mitsuna went back to the problem at hand while pushing that scene to the back of her head.
'Right right. I need to show father my status.'
'Uhhh... the only skill I think would help would be [Phoenix Eyes]... screw it. Let's give it a go.'
Activating the skill, Mitsuna's pure white pupils took on the form of a white and moving flame.
Looking at herself, her status popped up but a few things were missing. Namely her Affinities, Attributes and Special skill.
Looking at her father, Mitsuna immediately felt drained and cancelled her skill.
Her father on the other hand had a surprised face. Shocked even.
"Oh, so that's your status."
'It looks like when I use the skill to view a status everyone around me can see it too.'
Mitsuna thought while panting.
"But don't use that skill much. You never know when you might run into someone a lot stronger, use the skill and lose all your mana."
Seeing Mitsuna nod, the faint smile on Midithyr's face left and he now had a serious look in his eyes.
"Well let's have our little talk now. Since you are a girl, as tradition states you will be trained by your mother."
Mitsuna was surprised by this sudden change of mood.
"Your mother can sometimes take training a lot more serious than me if you don't make enough progress in the given time so I recommend you try your best."
Closing his eyes, he continued.
"You are not the only child in this family. You have an older brother that was born before you and will become the next lord of this house in a few centuries. That is... if he survives. If that were to happen you would need to take his place."
Midithyr reopened his eyes and looked at his daughter.
"But I do hope there will be no animosity between you two. For the sake of the family and its future, you will most likely be married off to another royal family, but the family you will be married off to will be your choice to make."
"If you do not wish to be married you may refuse although if that were the case you would be cast out when you reach the age of 14 and left to fend for yourself."
Looking at his daughter, he could see the shock and disappointment on her face.
"No need to look like that. Cast out doesn't mean we will disown you. Just that you can't call yourself royalty under our family name. It is a tradition that our family needs to follow."
The smile returned to his face as he lost the seriousness in his eyes and spoke.
"But you have a lot of time to choose. Even if you can't decide when you reach 14 years you can still stay. Oh, but 16 is the limit. We don't want to baby our children forever. Watching you grow yourself is much more entertaining."
"Anyway, you should meet your brother soon. I'll set up a small tea party."
'Girls like that right?' Midithyr thought.
Seeing his daughter nod once again, he sighed in relief.
'Thank god. At least I won't seem stupid to her. I hope Ary raises her to be a tomboy, then I would easily break tradition to keep her here for as long as possible.'
With her father stuck in his own little fantasy about a tomboy daughter asking him to fight, Mitsuna was wondering about the small movie she saw.
'That skill is weird. Remember..? Remember what? I've only lived 1 life before this one where I had a pretty good memory... It can't be that I forgot something... Right?'
