Departing
"It's over, accept it",said Damien as he looked at Jason from above. Jason was on his knees with a spear in his heart blood gushing around him.
"As long as I am breathing it's not over", Jason looked Damien in the eye and smiled. Then suddenly Jason's eye turned to gold for split second and Damien stumbled backwards screaming. Damien fell to the ground feeling pain more unbearable than having his arm ripped off. Soon he lay unconscious on the ground.
Jason had used his soul skill to split Damien's soul in half but it wasn't strong enough so it latched on to itself by a thread. This was the reason for Damien's pain. Jason had a look of disappointment as he looked at the unconscious boy.
He vomited some blood and said,"I guess I wasn't strong enough but this will suffice for now"
By this time Justin had reached Jason and behind him were two women along with a man. Ava was walking along with Jason's eldest Maya and his youngest Peter. They were distraught at the site of their beloved father reduced to such state.
Peter had tears coming down his eyes,at first they were slow but then they rained down his cheeks. Maya was a resolute woman but even she was brought to tears at the sight of her father,crippled and shattered with a spear in his heart. They called for healer to help Jason.
Jason had seen them coming and with only sometime remaining he knew he had to bid farewell. So he decided to call for them one by one to give them certain tasks in order to solidify Etherius.
"Maya come my child", he could only let out words, his body had long since given up.
"F-father, please don't speak it will only speed up the process let them heal you", she had a very sour voice because of all the emotions being stuck in her throat.
"Let it be, we knew this was coming since that day. I *cough* have some things to ask of *spits blood* ....you."
"I will obey father."
"I want you to be the next general of Etherius and solidify the army. Your mastery over earth and fire is one of your greatest military forté. Help Justin become the next king, for he is the only one capable of sustaining the city."
"Yes, father", there was an unwillingness in her eyes as if this was not what she hoped for. Jason was quick to notice it and forcefully moved his hand towards her head.
"Forgive my sweet little girl for not being a good father for even in death I leave you with a burden",as he said that Jason kissed her temple showing the final ounces of affection surviving in him.
"Nooo!! Father please don't say that I have been the one too greedy for your attention. I am content with what you have left for us",Maya then went back to her mother's side while Peter walked towards his father.
"My boy you have made me so proud even though you didn't have strength you have a mind sharper than the sharpest sword. I am proud. Therefore I *coughs* *vomits blood* reque...st y..ou pl..ease help Justin in the court and ad..min..ist..ration"
"Father don't burden yourself I will do all this and more for you and the people. Go in peace father the future is in strong hands",Peter hugged Jason and moved away he was not able to control his emotions anymore and went away in order to not show his weakness to the people.
"Justin...I think there is only one thing I wish to say....although you are not my son you are no different than one. I wish I could spend more time with you just as I have with Peter. For...forgive me boy for burdening you with something you never wished to inherit"
"No master don't say that I would go to the end of this world for you. I am more than happy that you called me your son",that day Justin cried tears of blood for it was his inability to defeat Damien that led to Jason's death but he was incapable of ever saying it out loud. This thought would be his bane.
Ava who had been standing there finally walked towards Jason. She looked at him with just love,pure unconditional love.
"My sweetest Ava forgive me for leaving you a hundred years too early. I have not given you what should have been due"
"No my love your death is Father's wish and no one can deny him that",hearing this Jason chuckled. Even in his last moments he could not stop himself from remembering the man whose face he hadn't seen in a hundred years.
"It is time to die I cannot hold on much longer", as Jason said this, the entire crowd of Novic-Aryans started to sing a hymn a sacred and holy tune escaped their mouth, one which they had never sung before but would be remembered from this day forth as the national anthem of Etherius, Transcendence.
Ava, Maya, Peter and Justin stood surrounding Jason as he started to turn into light particles and disintegrated.
Ava slowly whispered in his ears,"Father is waiting for you. Be with the man you have workshipped your entire life for I will be coming there soon."
Jason had a smile creep on his face as he heard that.
