Chapter Twelve: We found the King

Kunle lay for a bit on the temporary bed he set up in the tent, he is a guy who knew what he wanted and went for it but, all that had been happening lately had been overwhelming for him with the fact that it had grown a strange and a very attraction for Anike. This might have been the first time in his life he felt the need to possess something this much, even when it irks him yet he couldn't get her out of his mind.

He had heard his brother arguing with Ayo that morning and to think she knew that much about him was a shock. He never really talked about what happened between him and his love interest years ago, all he ever said was, she's gone and that's the end of it. What came as a surprise to him was, that he could tell Yemi was on the verge of falling for her, this is part reason why he lashed at her last night and currently playing the guilty card with her this morning.

Anike saw him staring blankly when she entered his tent, hi! She called out but he had drifted off while awake. What was he thinking about, she thought. Deciding to touch him she moved closer to him.

Hey, come back from where you went, she said shaking him gently but he didn't respond, Kunle, she called out softly but he wouldn't budge. Scared, she tried calling out to the rest of the crew when she got taken in by his vision.

Kunle heard the wind whisper. Fascinated, he followed the sound. He had been thinking of Yemi and Ayooni's relationship. He wondered where he was but ignored it, he heard Anike calling his name softly and wanted to reach out to her but couldn't, so he called for her, I want you here and she came. There you are, he said, his face faltered when looked at the face, she looked worried. He tried reaching out again but two people made their presence known, turning around, he saw Yomi and Anike standing with them.

Confused, what are you guys doing here, he asked. The water carried your message to me so I came Yomi replied, and Anike and Asani gave the same reply. Kunle felt mortified, he was sure he called Anike alone but why were they here? He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the whispers again.

Do you see blood of my blood? Can you hear the song in the air? Kunle linked his hand with Yomi instinctively. Do you see, blood of my blood? Can you hear the waves of the stream? Yomi linked his hand with Asani's hand. Do you see, blood of my blood? Can you feel the talks of the Earth? Anike joined her hand with theirs. Do you see, blood of my blood? The fire has led to the path we seek.

For the road you seek lies up ahead, the question to ask is within your tongue and the answer you sought has always been there. The Wind whispers the Water has risen, the Earth has spoken and the Fire shows the way.

Ayooni jolted from Emman's grip, we found the King she said.
