Chai Ying fights (1)

Chai Ying could tell that there was some obvious enmity between Bai Mei Li and this Wyvern. Both of it's gigantic heads and all four eyes were solely focused on her. The only thing that could be between them was treasure. Demon beasts just didn't bother hunting humans without a purpose. It was obvious this animal hated her to the bones. This probably meant that, that girl had gotten hold of something good. He chuckled inwardly at her extremely stiff body. She clearly knew her limits.

He rolled his shoulder loosening his muscles. He was very relaxed and although he was taking this upcoming fight very seriously his anticipation was also not something that he could hide. It had been so long… so long. The sanctuary was way too peaceful.

That subtle change in Chai Ying was starting to become more and more apparent. His easy going nature that had originally felt as though it were so natural was all but gone. He was now starting to resemble something far more savage. His dark and heroic eyes now held a sharpness that hadn't been there previously. His eyes were filled with so much killing intent that the Wyvern was no longer able to ignore Chai Ying. It turned both it's heads and looked at him.

Chai Ying was smiling now that he'd caught the beasts attention. There was absolutely no fear. The smile he gave was absolutely chilling.

Without further consideration gauntlets appeared on a portion of his arm and hands, and he disappeared. The next moment he appeared in front of the wyvern and threw a punishing punch at it. The sheer force of the punch was enough to force the wyvern tumbling back.

Bai Mei Li had already retreated several hundred feet back. She was now standing on a cliff watching the battle from a safe distance with Xiao Jun snuggled in her arms. She'd decided not to remove the blindfold because she thought this fighting scene might be a little too scary for the little boy. Instead she'd decided to sing a song to distract him.

The song she'd chosen to sing was 'To be human' by Sia. Bai Mei Li had a great voice and she was used to translating English songs so she had no problem translating the song from English into the native tongue of the people of the Great Yan continent.

Xiao Jun listen closely. Completely forgetting about the strange booms and crashes he'd been hearing. When he was at home he'd heard all kinds of songs. His mother loved singing to him too, but he'd never heard a song like this. It was so strange. He didn't really understand it but he knew that he liked it. It was so different… she sang it so loudly. The women that sang to him perviously always sang in a very low and soft tone. He liked his elder sisters singing better. It soothed him in a odd way that he didn't understand.

Bai Mei Li wasn't paying attention to her singing. She knew all these songs by heart and was basically just going through the playlist she listened to the most so it didn't take any real concentration even though she was singing while translating. What she was really focused on was Chai Ying who had made a complete one eighty on his personality. That smile that was now plastered on his face was a smile she'd seen plenty of times before. It was a smile that people who'd been drenched in blood often used. Chai Ying was without a doubt a killer, and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

'No, it wasn't the killing that he enjoyed' She thought after some consideration 'It was the thrill of being challenged. He didn't care about hardship, danger, or pain. He might not even care about death so long as the fight was worth it.'

Chai Ying was a natural born cultivator. He'd probably just wasted his time in the other world. He should have been directly born here. It appeared that he had all the qualities that all the other cultivator were born with.

He wasn't like her that was struggling at ever turn to change and adapt.

There was another loud boom as Chai Ying did a hand sign and activated his innate earth Qi attribute. His earth attribute was so strong that his previously pale skin immediately darkened, now looking as though he had a natural tan. His Qi was so powerful that the ground around the two of them began to dent inward. His grin only grew as he stopped to get pumped up all over again.

Bai Mei Li was forced to retreat once again for the safety of Xiao Jun. Chai Ying was really too powerful. She couldn't see his cultivation in at all. She wondered to high he'd made it since coming to this world.

The wyvern feeling the pressure began to take this human a lot more seriously. In the beginning the beast had assumed that he would be able to quickly eat this human that then move onto his actual target with was that other little human that had stolen it's treasure. How long had the wyvern been cultivating that tiger lily for that human to just run up and snatch it? Although the Wyvern had felt the killing intent from the human he hadn't really felt all that threatened. The beast was confused as to why his instincts hadn't kicked in to warn it.

Chai Ying hit his fists together and the runes on his gauntlets began to shine as he pumped his earth Qi into the run on the gauntlet and then started another round of rapid attacks.

The Wyvern had been momentarily startled by this humans sudden increase in power. The beast hadn't thought the human was actually this strong. So it hadn't been prepared. But now it was prepared, and not only that, it was extremely angry. That first punch had really hurt the head that had been attacked.

It was prepared now so when Chai Ying was nearing to land his attacks the wyvern swung his tail at him aiming for his waist.

The blow had threatened to knock all the air out of Chai Ying's body, but he was still able to react quickly. He grabbed the tail. His finger digging into the hard scales of the wyvern holding the tail to his side. Blood was now oozing out the places that his fingers had punctured. Although the injury was negligible it was still a testament to Chai Ying brute strength.

As the punch landed on the Wyvern it's scales began to shatter. The Wyvern let out a agonized and furious roar then immediately activated it's lightening attribute.

The lightening was equivalent to about ten thousand volts. For reference this was enough to be said to be able to kill a Tyrannosaurus rex.

The lightening ran rampant through Chai Ying's body sending him flying into a near by mountain. The shockwave from his impact was enough to shake the earth and destroy a good portion of the face of that mountain.

Bai Mei Li was shocked. She was unsure of what to do. She was worried about him, naturally. Yet even if she ran over there to help him she would be endangering Xiao Jun.

"Elder sister what was that sound? How come you've stopped singing. Xiao Jun likes elder sister singing." Xiao Jun asked curiously.

Bai Mei Li was frowning in worry but she carelessly said singing again. She was now singing 'unconditionally' by Katy Perry

She didn't have much time to consider what to do because the small form inside the large impact point had already started moving. A dark chuckle could heard.

Chai Ying placed both hands on either side of himself. Pushing hard off the crushed mountain face he shot off and was back in the fight.

"Fists shaking the earth; bone shattering fist" Chai Ying roared… not in rage but in pure excitement. He honestly couldn't be happier at being injured. How long had it been since he'd fought an opponent that he hadn't been able to once shot one kill even when he just wanted to play?

…more… give me more… his mind raged. He didn't want this to end.

His fist landed on one of the snakes heads and it's thick skull which should have been impenetrable was cracked open.

The Wyvern threw back both of it's heads and roared in pain.

Chai Ying was startled as he looked up and saw clouds suddenly starting to form. The sky appeared to be answering the call of the Wyvern. He had an ominous feeling. That vicious grin that had been curving his thin lips deepened.

Things where apparently about to get much more exciting.

"Bai Mei Li you and the kid need to get further away." He projected directly into her ear without even looking at her.

Bai Mei Li didn't hesitate to retreat further away. She was now about half a mile away. But with her excellent eye sight and cultivation she had no problem see Chai Ying and the Wyvern clearly.

Chai Ying was looking at the Wyvern that was still howling. He wasn't attacking not because he was kind enough to allow the wyvern to complete it's preparation or because he was being overconfident in his own abilities, but because he couldn't. The Wyvern was now surrounded with lightening strikes. It was a precarious situation. Chai Ying could also sense that even though the strikes were slowly lowering in volume the quality of the strikes were improving.

"Bring it you sh*tty beast." His vicious grin was full of hopefulness. He was anticipating this next part of the fight to really let him stretch properly.

(A/N Sorry I've been considering my currant power system and I've found it lacking. I'm going to continue using it for now while I work on it. When I change it I'll let everyone know and I'll also publish the system so you guys can see it in it's entirety. I think that'll be easier for everyone. Since this is a story in progress I'm sure other things will change as well. I'll be sure to give you a heads up about major changes.
