6 Sweet Surprise

Vee held her breath as Leon leaned even closer. Her eyes widened in anticipation, Leon was going to kiss her! It was definitely too soon, she was still nursing her heart over Easton. So why did she want this kiss? Or was she still drunk?

Many questions flooded her mind as she awaited Leon's lips on hers before her subconscious screamed at her. 'You still have morning breath!'.

She was about to push him away from her. Their first kiss couldn't be like this. But then Leon's warm breath fanned her ears as he whispered.

"Tell me why you had to throw up on me when I was saving you, else I won't give you the sweet surprise I brought back with me"

His voice was taunting, teasing, tricking even.

Vee blinked once.

Twice.

She look up at his face and then the memories of last night began to flood in. She threw up on Leon? Oh no... even worse... Leon saw her and Theo. She placed her hands over her mouth as she gasped.

Leon was going to kill Theo. She was telling herself that Theo was just drunk which was why he acted that way, or maybe he thought she was Camy.

'He practically called your name ten times' her verbose subconscious chipped again.

"Leon please don't hurt him. I promise you it was a misunderstanding"

Leon stared at Vee in confusion. This girl had once again managed to bring wrinkles on his forehead. If care was not taken, by the time he left Phoenix he would be looking like his dad, all because of this girl.

He was here talking about her disgusting un-ladylike behavior. Who was this 'him' now?

"Camy seems to like him very much. I guess he was just drunk last night"

His jaw clenched realizing that Vee was talking about Theo. He closed his eyes and let out a sigh. No, he wasn't going to deal with this now. "Get dressed Anna we have somewhere to go" he said coldly as he made his way to the door.

"Leon" Vienna called softly making him halt. He didn't turn to face her.

"I'm not sorry for throwing up on you. You deserved it anyways" she said and he could feel her rolling her eyes.

One minute she was acting scared and innocent, the next she was bringing out that badass attitude he always liked in her. Shaking his head with a smile, Leon left the room.

.

After her bath, Vienna came out wearing a pink towel. She got her clothes from her closet and when she came back Leon was already at her mirror. He was wearing a black shirt that did much justice to his awesome biceps. His black pants were hanging loosely around his torso. Vienna watched him as he was drying his hair with her hair dryer and using his hand as a comb.

"Pink towel, grab me some cream, would ya?"

Vee walked to him and grabbed the hair dryer, turning it off and placing it on her vanity table. "You know Leon, usually when I'm done with a bath, I come out naked."

"So?" He asked nonchalantly and turned to her.

So?

Vienna's mouth hung open. Was that all he could say? She was wearing a towel that barely covered her bum and her cleavage was well exposed, but this guy didn't even seem affected by her. Was he immune to pretty girls? Was... was he gay? She gasped momentarily.

"You know how many times I've seen you naked? We used to bathe together quite a lot of times remember?"

"Geez Leon. When I was like what, five?"

"Five and naked" Leon smirked.

She moved away from him to the wall. No way this guy could be gay, she thought to herself.

"I've got boobs now. And a real butt" Vee defended.

"Oh please" Leon rolled his eyes.

'Leon Hartman? Rolling his eyes? Maybe he is gay.' her subconscious gazed in amusement.

"There's no difference between five-year-old-you and those little peaches in front of me."

Vee's mouth hung open and she gasped in horror. She looked down at her swelled chest and covered them with her hands. Her breasts were pretty big, she could even say that some girls would kill for her breast size.

"Atleast I don't have a two inch pencil hanging below me" she finally said, so quietly that Leon almost didn't hear it. But he did.

That seemed to do the trick as the smile on Leon's face was completely gone, a deep frown replacing it. He walked to her, trapping her with his two hands on the wall. "Would you like to see this... two inch pencil?" He asked, as cold as ever.

An awkward silence met them. Oh hell no, this guy wasn't going to get away with making her feel hot again. She looked up and met his cold gaze. "Or I could show you what these little peaches look like in person" she smirked.

'Oooh bad Vee' her subconscious danced gleefully.

Leon looked like he was affected by what she said. But before Vee could read his expression, he had pulled away and was clearing his throat as he walked to the door.

"Hurry up or we'll be late" he said quickly and left.

Point Vienna!

.

Vienna got outside to meet Leon resting on his car. "Where are we going?"

Leon kept quiet and just opened the passenger door for her.

"Oh what a gentle man" she mocked and was about to get in when a voice stopped her.

"Vienna."

Vienna knew that voice all too well. She turned back with a frown on her face. Easton was staring at her... with Riley by his side. Vienna's frown turned to a sadistic smile as she looked at both of them.

"Oh hey."

Riley was giving her that mean girl look. "Hello Vienna"

Vee wasn't going to let these two bring out the worst in her. She promised to forget about Easton and that was what she was going to do. She turned to get into the car since Leon was still holding the door open.

"Oh come on" Easton chuckled.

That was when Riley seemed to notice Leon. "Hey hottie" she stretched her hand to grab Leon's.

Before anyone knew it, Vee slapped Riley's hand away. Riley gasped and looked at her in shock, same as Easton. Meanwhile Leon kept his usual cool un-bothered expression.

"Keep your hands... off my boyfriend"

Oh no she just said that. Did she just say that? Vee was freaking out inside but on the outside she was just glaring hard at the couple. She wanted to look at Leon, to give him a look in a way that would persuade him to agree.

Easton didn't seem to believe Vienna and turned to Leon. "Is she your girlfriend?" He was asking like he was hoping it to be false.

"Pretty ladies don't lie" Leon shrugged.

Vienna turned to look at him. 'Was that a yes?' She was asking with her eyes and the look Leon gave her confirmed it. Vee smiled, telling him thank you with another look.

But Riley still didn't want to believe it. No way was Vienna dating someone as hot as this. Vienna could see the jealousy burning in her eyes.

"Alright then, how about a double date. Tonight. 7pm, Wests' Hotel."

"Hotel?"

"Tomorrow night."

Leon and Vienna said at the same time and then they looked at each other.

"Deal" Riley said and she and Easton walked away. Vienna watched as they walked into Riley's house.

Vienna and Riley were neighbors. Maybe that was why it was easy for Easton to cheat on her without her knowing. Maybe they hadn't even really broken up when Easton started dating her.

She entered into the car and shut the door.

The ride was awfully silent, both Leon and Vienna consumed in their own thought.

"Anna" Leon called.

"I know. I'm sorry." Vee sighed.

"Did you just say you're sorry?" Leon chuckled softly.

"Shut up" she looked at him. "I'll get you out of my mess okay."

Silence...

"Um so where are we going?" Vee asked.

"If I tell you, it wouldn't be a surprise would it?" Leon asked glancing at her.

"Just tell me"

"I'm getting you a job Anna."

"What!" Vee screamed. "I just graduated yesterday. And I'm nursing a heartbreak, and you want to get me a job? Do you even think I have qualifications for a job right now Leon? I don't even think I'm mentally okay right now. Stop the car! Stop!"

"Anna!" Leon yelled. He looked at her in disbelief before he turned his attention back to the road. "It's an internship okay, no need to freak out."

"Yeah? I'm not ready for it. And what if the internship is not in my line of work?"

"It's a paid internship Anna" he stressed on 'paid', trying to convince her.

"Ofcourse it is, I wouldn't work for free. But I'm not doing it Leon" she argued stubbornly.

"Please just try it." Leon begged. There was no use arguing, the girl seemed adamant to the idea.

The car stopped infront of a three storey building. The entrance was of glass walls while the other ends of the building were coloured a beautiful bright ash. It wasn't that big but it looked pretty modernized. Above the glass walls were the words 'HERITAGE PUBLISHING HOUSE'. There weren't that bold, but whoever with good eye sight that passed by would surely notice it.

"I don't want a job Leon" Vienna whined as she walked behind him into the building.

After talking with the receptionist, they both headed to the elevators that took them to the last floor. They walked down a small hallway before they got to a glassed double door. Vee smiled as they walked inside, there were a few offices here, each having a glass door. Placed at the wall end were three big sofas and a center table.

Vienna didn't have time to enjoy the view as Leon was already heading towards a wooden door she hasn't noticed before. She rushed towards him before he opened them.

This office was different compared to the ones outside. This office had a medium sized desk and a chair placed behind it. Then there was a glass door that led to another office where a young man was sitting. The man looked up as they entered, he seemed to be around Leon's age. His chiseled face and small eyes gave him a beautiful rich boy look, but the fact that he wasn't smiling at all made all the beauty Vienna saw evaporate.

"Leon" the man greeted.

"Hey Blake" Leon pulled a chair for Vee to sit before he sat down himself.

"I remember you said you needed an assistant." Leon went straight to the point.

"Oh yes. I can't seem to manage on my own" the Blake-guy smiled a little and looked at Vee, as if asking who she was.

"Well this is Vienna, she's going to be your new P.A. She just graduated and--" Before Leon could finish, Vienna had already stood up and went out the door.

The two men looked at each other before Leon excused himself.

"Anna what was that?" He said gritting his teeth. "This is not someone you know Anna, you can't just walk out on him like that."

"I want to go home" Vee said stubbornly.

"Anna, please just take this job. It's literally a job you know."

"I don't know anything about publishing Leon" she finally looked him in the eye.

"You'll be his assistant, there's no need for you to know anything about publishing."

Vee stomped her feet as she whined. This was one of her moments, where she acts like a child for no good reason. This man looked too grumpy, she could just imagine the torture she would go through working for him. But Leon seemed to want her to do it, which she didn't understand why. But knowing this guy, if she asked he would just flirt with her to diverse the topic.

"I'll think about it." She finally said.

"I heard a yes" said Leon as he walked to meet the man. Vienna waited a while before she followed.

"So you'll have to give her sometime before she resumes" Leon finished as Vee entered.

"Well it's because it's you Leon" the guy said as he started writing on a paper.

"Thanks man."

"Oh and she would have to submit her résumé." The guy and Leon shook hands as Leon nodded.

Look at these two, talking like she wasn't standing right infront of them. Vee glared at Leon as they went outside. She had been doing a lot of glaring lately, her eyes were starting to hurt.

"I didn't know you knew people in Phoenix, Leon" Vee said as they got into the car.

Leon started the car before he spoke, "I know a lot of people everywhere Anna"

"So what's with you and this job? Why?" Vienna asked. She just decided to try even though she knew Leon wouldn't answer her.

"I just want you to have something for yourself. I was thinking we could move out from your parents' house sometime in the future and I can't be the only one paying rent while you eat my food and money"

Vienna mouth dropped. He sounded so sure as he said those words. We? Move? Rent? House? The words kept replaying in her head, she didn't know whether to take seriously what she heard, Leon almost never joked with things this way. She looked at him and then she saw the smile he was trying so hard to hide.

"You fool!" She hit his hand. Who did he think he was to lie to her like that, she almost got excited with the thought of she and Leon moving out. Her parents were really starting to get annoying.

"Hey! You want us to have an accident Anna?" He gave her a teasing smile.

"Stop calling me that? Why do you keep calling me Anna, you never called me that before"

Leon looked like he was pondering on how to answer her question. After a while, he just shrugged. "I guess I realized I didn't really like your name"

Vienna looked at him in disbelief. This guy had changed alot. She remembered the old Leon, the one she grew to like. Her best friend, her brother. They were like two peas in a pod. She was a nerd back then and he had been a nerd with her, but to everyone else he was the dangerous guy who never let anyone near her.

Now he seemed to grow into that dangerous guy people knew him as. He was cold, so cold Vee thought she would freeze up just staying close to him. His words were like nothing she heard him say before, he seemed nonchalant now.

"I'm surprised you took the job Anna" Leon said bringing Vee back to reality. "I was prepared to take drastic measures if you still proved stubborn"

"What kind of drastic measures?" Vee asked facing him.

"Kiss you" he glanced at her before facing the road.

And now he was hot. So hot she could melt just by looking at him.
