Chapter 2

On their way to class unlike the first time Nic was now getting weird glances ."Alex why are people giving us weird looks?" He gave her a small smile before replying "because you are walking with a psycho"sayin it in a 'duh' tone ." Haa welcome to senior year buddie" Nic said throwing her hand on Alex's shoulders. Alex looked shocked by this but Nic continued to walk as if its nothing. They passed three more doors before getting to class. When they got to the 4th door Alex stopped and turned to Nic whose face was now pale. In silence they went to peek at the door to see what was happening . In front stood a girl talking about a blog. Seeing the suprise on Nic's face Alex assumed she knew the girl.

Priscilla was Nic's cousin and they were not good friends since childhood as Priscilla was jelous of Nic. They met at her grandparents' place last summer when Nic moved to town but the topic of the girls attending the same school was never raised . To add to the suprise Priscilla looked popular in school.

They went to class and was met with Priscilla's suprised face but continued to her seat. Nic sat at the back of the class and she saw a familiar face but she couldn't believe her eyes but then she saw that smile that tempted her in the first place. The guy didn't see her when she walked so she decided to see him after class as he looked interested in whatever the tall girl in front of him was talking about.

Mr Jack started reading the register and when he got to Nic's name the guy turned in her direction and he had a look that Nic couldn't understand. For Nic class took forever so when the bell finally she found herself alone as the guy had already disappeared and found Alex waiting for her .

Zayn was the guy Nic met during the first days of summer when he came to visit his mom who had remarried. Since they were neighbors they used to hang out together. One day they went to watch a movie that happened to be a romantic comedy and they ended up kissing and that was when Zayn said he liked her and they started dating.

It was on their 3rd date when Nic told him that they were moving but she did not say where and they lost contact as Nic misplaced her phone but for Zayn only him knows his reasons...

Nic believed in fantasy ,so seeing Zayn after 12 weeks brought back the memories of the times they shared but that did not make her feel better. "I blame the movies", she murmed to herself when someone stood infront of her blocking the sun . She kept her eyes closed assuming it was Alex but when it was after a few minutes of silence she opened her eyes only to see Zayn standing before her in all his glory as always giving her the famous smile that tempted her in the first place.

Nic stood so she could see Zayn properly. "Hey Nic" Zayn said giving her hug which she returned and she felt like finally she was home. If anyone where to see them they would think that they were inlove only to find out that love was one sided. When other students started passing Zayn moved away but Nic thought it was nothing. Zayn's friends joined them and he introduced her as his cousin and this time shock was an understatement to describe Nic's reaction but pure hurt could be seen in her eyes ,only that Zayn couldn't not as they had started a conversation on soccer and she was left out so she moved away from them.

She went to sat on the terrace and didn't notice the boy sitting at the corner only after she had sobs that she went to sat with him. I mean her 'relationship problems ' seemed less important at the time ." Why are you crying?", she asked the boy." Go away " the boy replied in a small voice. "For a boy you have a beautiful vooce" Nic said trying to make a conversation. "It's because i am a girl"the boy said raising his head or should i say girl."Damn you could have fooled me right there" ,Nic said laughing trying to lighten up the mood. The girl giggled now sniffing a little.

"Well i get that a lot , my name is Daniella by the why". "I'm Nicolla but you can call me Nic all my friends do". The last part made Daniella smile. "So ...why cut your hair and dress like a boy?" Nic asked. "It's because of my dad",Daniella replied.

Daniella was the only girl in her family of 4 so her father only paid attention to the boys as he blamed Daniella for the death of his wife who died giving birth to Daniella. So to get his attention Daniella tried dressing up as a boy and behave as 1 too but only to fail ,so she cried to the mother who she never met or known.

They cried together and then decided to go shopping the following weekend as Daniella was tired of trying to be someone she was not. The bell rang marking the end of school so the girls walked to the school entrance and was joined by Alex on the way. Deep in their conversation Nic saw Zayn with that tall girl again holding hands ,they looked happy .Following the gaze of Nic Alex saw who she was looking at and said something about the couple being back .

Nic saw her mum's car and went there murming a small bye . The whole journey back home was a quiet one .
