THE ADOPTED SON

Since when did Don Riggs adopt a child?"

"You've asked that question for the tenth time now. I have no idea, boss."

This was all strange to Bryan. He knew that Don Riggs was a powerful mafia lord. He was known as the only mafia Lord who was able to keep his position that long even without an heir.

He did business with everyone. This was because he had proven to be the only Mafia Lord who had worked in transparency. Now, what is this about an adopted son?

He wondered if it was because Don Riggs was afraid that he wouldn't be respected anymore if he doesn't have an heir.

That must be the reason he decided to adopt a son.

"So, when are we meeting this son again?"

"In two hours from now."

"His name?"

"I think it's, Jaden."

The name did not ring a bell. One thing he knew was that Don Riggs would not adopt a son who is not equal to the task. Now he was eager to see who this son of Riggs was.

Bryan and his men waited for their business partner to show.

At exactly two hours, their business partner showed up.

Bryan told his men to send them into the meeting room where their business transactions were carried out.

"Boss, the business partners are coming in."

Since Bryan was the boss, he sat on a chair waiting for his business partners to show up.

Just then, he saw some men escorting the so-called Riggs adopted son into the room.

He was so eager to find out who this son was and also test how intelligent he must have been for Riggs to adopt a grown-up man.

Just then, the so-called son showed up. Bryan turned his gaze towards the person.

Bryan suddenly stood up all at once in fright as if he had seen a ghost.

"Hi, you are Mr Bryan I guess?"

"What?" Bryan didn't understand what was going on. What he saw was Alex trying to fool around.

"I never would have thought you would come to me for business purposes. So what is this about being Don Riggs adopted, son?"

"Excuse me, have we met before?"

"Look, I don't know the kind of trick you are trying to pull but I'm afraid there will be no business between us if you are going to pretend like you don't know me"

"Excuse me, have we met before?"

Bryan was confused. He knew Alex wasn't someone who would pretend not to know him. Bryan observed Alex, no doubt it was him, but what he didn't understand was why Alex was acting as if he did not know him. That was disturbing. The last time he recalled, Rohan admitted that Alex had gone missing.

If Alex made contact with his family, he was sure that he wouldn't let Rohan be by herself. He loved his sister too much to let her be by herself.

Something was off somewhere and he wouldn't rest until he finds out what that is.

Seeing that Alex wasn't ready to admit to recognising him, he decided to play along.

Bryan stayed calm and continued with their business transactions.
