A Story That Holds Us Together

"Everybody says writers create stories..... but I don't believe that. I believe writers have their own stories which help them to become actual writers," Annabelle spelled those words fearlessly. There was nothing that could stop her to move forward, to stop her to make her own story. Anna threw the microphone she was holding and came down from the stage just to find her story, that guy who was standing backstage with his eyes fixed on her. Yes, he was her story. Then again, he is the only man she can ever make a story with. A story that is she obsessed with all along. He kissed her passionately and whispered to her, "Let's make a story that holds us together, my love." A crashed princess and an unknown prince charming fell in love with each other so madly, that's how their love story worked! *** *** *** *** "If I say it was a love at first sight, what would you do?" "I will just reject you," she answered calmly. Kiera has given up on love. She promised that she is never going to fall in love. But the irresistible guy just came into her life forcefully as he fell in love with her from the moment his eyes fell upon her. She was nonchalant and on the other hand, he was persistent. She can't fall in love with him but she still can't resist seeing him with any other woman. Can they also make a story? A story that can also hold them together? - - - - - - - - So? Leave Her Alone

Although Kiera was hella tired, she couldn't sleep. Her fever went down a long time ago, but she was still feeling a little cold. She was thinking this and that and then she realized Annabelle was fast asleep on a couch placed in the hospital room. Seriously, she does everything excessively. She is just a drunk patient with a little fever, why does she have to take a VIP room for her? It was quite a big hospital, so she kinda didn't mind her. After all, she has a rich friend like her, better take advantage of her once in a while. Also, it would be too risky to be around so many people in the common hospital room for Anna.

Come to think of it, was she really dreaming? Or was it just the imagination of a drunkard? Well, she drank pretty high booze, it was actually possible to dream nonsense for her. But still, it kinda felt a bit real. Dreaming this kind of thing means she really misses him, huh? That was sure she saw Owen today. It was completely sure, as she could still feel his cologne on her. That smell, it was still like before.

Surprisingly, that couldn't make her distracted as she thought she would be. She always liked his cologne, but at that time, she was feeling nausea. There was something else that made her restless.

… … …

After excusing herself from that ridiculous family dinner, Kiera was walking on the street aimlessly. She left her car at her father's. She wasn't really feeling like driving. She should call her secretary to drive it back to the company tomorrow. Walking through the streets for half an hour, she found a bar and bought a whiskey bottle from there. She was quite good at holding her liquor. But somehow she got drunk just after a few sips. What is happening to her? Maybe because she didn't eat anything after lunch? She heard someone saying that people get drunk easily when they have an empty stomach. So, it really is true, huh.

Suddenly, Kiera sat down on the footpath. The alley footbath she was walking was quiet. She could only see two or three people crossing her each five minutes. She was wearing one of her favorite business suits. But somehow she didn't feel like caring about her suit right now.

Why did she choose to attend the dinner today? Why did she always make things hard for herself when it was already hard enough? And that basta*d Theodore, where the heck is he? He just left without any notice making her go through all this shit. She won't let him stay at hers anymore. Or else these relatives of hers, they are not gonna let her live in peace.

"Kiera?" All of sudden, a familiar voice called her out.

Kiera was feeling a little drowsy so she couldn't remember the owner of the voice. She lifted her head up to see the person, but to her surprise, she jerked back all of a sudden. This sudden astounded reaction also made the person surprised.

Urghh… whose face did she see today first after waking up in the morning? Why are all the shits happening to her in just one day?

Kiera regained her composure as she gulped some whiskey from the bottle. Should she pretend like she didn't see him? Then, he will surely go away being disinterested, right?

"Kiera? Why aren't you talking? And why are you sitting on the ground like this?"

This time, Kiera felt a little aggrieved. What does it have to do with him whether she sits on the ground or dies?

"Why? You don't like it?" Kiera said, this time straightly looking at his eyes.

"Why would I like it, Kiera? You… you have a fever?" All of sudden, he bent down and touched her forehead.

Fever? So, that's why she was feeling drowsy, huh? But the moment she realized he was the one touching her head with his hands, she slapped it out of her head.

"Don't touch me, Owen," Kiera snapped out.

Kiera didn't know why Owen was looking like he was in pain. Did she slap the hand too hard? When did he become so weakling?

"I won't, but just get up," Owen said softly just like he used to say to her. Why is he acting so weird? They broke up months ago, did he forget that?

"I can take care of myself. I don't like strangers going around caring about me unnecessarily."

"Then you think this place is safe enough to get drunk?" This time, Owen was a bit angry. Doesn't she realize she is getting drunk in the middle of a quiet lane? When did she become so careless? Doesn't she know how dangerous it is for a woman to be here at this hour wasted like that?

Kiera looked at Owen as if she was watching some kind of clown. Why doesn't he just go away? Her life is already quite full of events, and now he had to show up from nowhere. Come to think of it, this is his neighborhood, right? Maybe he already shifted back to his old apartment? Who knows, it's not as if she cares.

After a few minutes of tolerating her piercing gaze, Owen grabbed Kiera's shoulder forcefully to make her stand.

"Wha… what the fu*k are you doing, Owen?"

"I am taking you home."

"I don't need that shit. Just leave me alone, that would be enough," Kiera tried to slap his hand again but this time his grip was a little tighter. Does he think he can stop her with this tiny grip of his? Kiera was going to release herself when all of a sudden he hugged her, making her surprised.

"I'm sorry."

"What do you mean by that?" Kiera twitched her brows.

"You know what I am talking about," Owen's voice sounded a bit painful.

"If you think you're gonna be forgiven by this sorry for what you did, then I accept it…." Owen felt a bit better when he heard that she had forgiven her.

".....but that doesn't mean I appreciate what you have done. We were a thing before, and now we have nothing between us anymore. That's it. The faster we accept this, the more things are gonna get normal," then taking him by surprise, Kiera finished her talking, releasing herself forcefully from his embrace.

Owen felt a bit defeated. He doesn't know what to do further to make Kiera listen to his words. Actually, he himself is not ready to spell those right now. Kiera was always a strong person, though once he thought he could be her support. But he came to know that she is the one who supports other people; she doesn't need anyone, she is so sure about her life that sometimes it makes him feel inferior to her. Still now, she is so full of vigor and confidence, never hesitating about what she wants, clearly speaking about all her thoughts; this is the real Kiera, the Kiera he loved.

Kiera started to walk away from him as she was feeling a bit uncomfortable drinking in front of him. Gosh… She was thinking of having alone time but look, her destiny played a game with her again, making her act miserable in front of the person she wants to look most confident like at this moment.

"If I say I don't wanna be normal? What will you do Kiera?" Owen again grabbed Keira's hand from behind, the hand he used to touch, hold and kiss all the time, seeing it so distant from him right now, he felt like thousands of needles piercing his heart.

But before he could call her out, someone forcibly freed her hand from him. Kiera turned back to see the person and was in awe for some moments. She doesn't know how to react anymore. When did her life become so dramatic? Or maybe she is super drunk to create a fantasy world on her own, who knows? The thing that she only knows right now is the person standing in front of her was the person she didn't expect to see in her life for a second time. This person, who was cruel enough to never come into her dreams.

What can she say? There wasn't a single day when she didn't think about him. There wasn't a single moment she didn't regret not knowing him better. Who knows for what reason she was acting that way, when it was actually new to her too, feeling so confused about her feelings for the first time.

"What are you…..," Kiera mumbled to herself as the guy looked straight at her. But that was just for a split second. The next moment, he moved his hand to punch Owen in the face.

"Ayan! Stop! Don't!"

Though Keira tried to stop him, Ayan wasn't listening to her. His all focus was on someone else. Thank god, he didn't punch him but the wall beside him.

"She told you to leave her alone, don't you get that?" he said, still pointing a fist at Owen.

His voice, it was different, different from the one she remembered. It was more menacing and commanding. She didn't know he could sound like that, she didn't know that the cute guy she remembered from that business trip can have this frightening aura around him.

Suddenly, Kiera felt the earth below her was roaming. After that, it was all blank. She doesn't remember a single thing after that. Though she was unsure a while ago, she knows now that he was really there. Actually, she expected someone to be by her side at that time, or maybe she wanted Ayan to be there? She doesn't know. What she knew is that Ayan was right there, for her. If he is in Los Angeles right now, it means she can meet him again. The thought of meeting him again alone made her a bit happy for no reason. Has she gone insane or something? She really doesn't know.

Suddenly, she realized something. She definitely can't meet him. She made the decision herself and tried so hard to make this happen. How can she break the promise right now? She can never do that, never ever.
