Kofi's just blown up her entire capital city to smithereens for taking her beloved master from her. But with the help of the Surviving System - the very thing the Delvaran government was after - she lands in the prosperous parallel country called Lupart. But what's this, her head are filled with memories that are definitely not hers and far much more than what she should be having " Did I just crash a person's rebirth "? Yes she did, cos she's a survivor. But Kofi has no qualms with anyone in this world and simply wishes to explore her surroundings but the original owner of this body won't let her. Now she has to fulfill her dying wish, deal with terrible family members, regain her lost memories..... and many many many more. But all these things cost money and Kofi's only good at stealing and you guessed it, spying. When she accidentally ends up at one of the most prestigious schools for the country's elite, her skills may be useful. She makes friends and twice as many enemies along the way but Kofi doesn't care. She'll take any mission no matter what it is. The question now is, Do you want to hire a spy? Chapter 69 : An odd bunch.
" What are we doing "? Mordecai said as he stood behind the door. Jubilee was pacing in front of him, " We just panicked ". He nodded in agreement, " Yeah, and maybe we're a little scared of Kofi ".
Jubilee suddenly crossed her arms and frowned, " That's not true. I'm not ". He looked at her doubtfully and she pouted, " Okay, so maybe I'm a little scared ". When they heard knocking, they both flinched and ran into the living room.
When they saw the others were still asleep, they faced the door as if expecting a monster from the other side. After a minute or so, the knocking stopped. Mordecai craned his head high above the couch, " Who do you think it is "?
Jubilee did so as well, staring at the door " Should we find out "? They looked at each other seriously, suddenly putting their index fingers to the tip of their noses and shouted " Not it "! Jubilee frowned as she hit the couch, " Dang it ".
Mordecai who had been faster in saying it was all smiles, " After you Juju ". She sighed and frowned as she jumped over the couch, " Fine ". She walked to the door slowly and took a deep breath as she reached for the handle.
She opened the door slowly and pepped through. She suddenly flung the door open and shouted in a panicked voice, " What "!? Mordecai was so startled he fell of the couch.
He got up just as quickly, walked to the door and looked at her " Why are you..... "? He turned to the elevator and screamed as well, " What "!? He moved into the hallway, looking at the elevator with distress " They were right there, right "?
He looked at her, already pulling at his hair " Right "? Jubilee nodded and he suddenly gasped, looking back at the elevator " They were stolen "? Jubilee raised a finger and spoke gently, " I think you mean kidnapped ".
He turned to her sharply and frowned, " Does it matter? They're gone "! The elevator doors suddenly opened with Kofi and her friends in it. They all paused and stared at each other, too scared to move.
Kofi suddenly stepped out slowly, inching closer towards him " Are you okay Cai "? He shook his head, hands still in his hair " No. No I'm not. They just stole Lloyd and the others ". Kofi tilted her head to the side and squinted slightly, " I wouldn't say we stole them ".
Jubilee turned to her sharply, " We, did you just say we "? She lunged for Kofi then and tackled her to the floor, " Where are they "? The others rushed to the two, trying to separate them.
Peach suddenly kicked Jubilee in the side, making her roll off and stood over her. She held Jubilee's shirt, fist raised high for a punch as she frowned " Stay away from Fifi ". The silence that took over was filled with shock.
Kofi rubbed the side of her head as she sat up, " I'm fine Peach, let her go ". She took a deep breath and looked at a dazed Jubilee before throwing her back, making sure her head was hit against the rugged floor pretty hard.
Again, it made the others flinch while she smiled satisfactorily to herself, " Alright ". Chase suddenly lifted her off her while Dylan held out a hand to Kofi who took it and got up.
Chase glared at Jubilee while he turned Peach away from her, " First of all, we didn't steal anyone ". Mordecai looked at them disappointedly, " So they're still missing "? Peach shook her head, back to her usual calm self " No. They're upstairs in their apartment, sleeping ".
Mordecai suddenly took a deep breath and smiled, " Thank you ". He turned to Jubilee who was standing behind rubbing her head and suddenly frowned, " Apologize ". She clenched her fist, " But... ". He cut her off, looking stern " I don't care. Apologize ".
She lowered her head, mumbling " I'm sorry ". Though she was barely audible, they happily accepted her apology. Everyone except Peach, who had her hand to her ear " I didn't hear you ".
Jubilee clenched her fist tighter and suddenly yelled, " I'm sorry ". Peach smiled satisfactorily as she put her hand down, " You're forgiven ". Kofi suddenly stood between the two who were staring daggers at each other and turned to Mordecai, " Secondly, if Leo asks about us. We were in your apartment ".
She suddenly took Peach by the wrist, walking to their apartment. Mordecai frowned in confusion [ Did she just call him Leo? Are they that close? ] " What "? Dylan patted his shoulder as he passed, " It'll make sense eventually ".
That's how they left the twins standing clueless in the hallway. Jubilee suddenly rubbed her side were Peach had kicked and winced, " She's definitely not as weak as she looks ". Mordecai chuckled to himself, entering their apartment " Try getting along with them. They're an odd bunch ".
