Chapter 19

Sweet tunes the little song bird hummed, it was faint, it was gentle, and most of all, it was loving. "Good morning, my love. We meet again." She spoke, her voice ever so gentle as she sat on the bed they shared.

Stroking curly strands as he laid in the loving comforts of the bed, "You have so much planned today, I can't wait." Her hands slowly lowered to his face, affectionately caressing his freckled cheek.

"You don't have to speak, . Waste your energy later, once you're awake." She whispered, leaving lingering kisses on his forehead and eyelids.

". I'll be waiting patiently for you, even if it takes several lifetimes."

His eyes slowly opened as it his the morning sunshine, it's bright rays seeped through the curtain blinds greeting him in an intrusive manner.

With a groan, he covered his face with a blanket and turned. he thought to himself, twisting and turning around as to lull himself back to sleep, but to no avail. His body is basically fully awake now, much to his dismay.

Agressively rubbing his face to calm his growing nervousness, he doesn't have a concrete plan, it's just hang out with her, wait 'till midnight, confess and hope for the best. He in fact, had not even prepared his confession yet! He's sure to be a fumbling mess when midnight eventually arrives.

The days flew by so quickly, he was so sure that he still had enough time to prepare. ", what do I do, what do I do?" He muttered, ruffling his curly hair in frustration, this is what he gets for procrastinating.

"You worry too much, ." Dolores softly sighed, arms crossed as she leaned on the doorframe. "Everything is going to be fine, trust me. She'll say yes and you'll have your dream girl with no issue."

"Don't you trust your older sister? Who, mind you, can hear everything?"

"I suppose you're right, but I don't believe the she'll say yes part of what you said moreso than the everything would be fine part."

"Oh and, before I forget. She's here by the way, she currently talking to Antonio and downstairs." She said before leaving the teen in his room, Camilo immediately stood up from his bed as began to immediately fixing himself up to look presentable to the girl.

"Thank you so, so much for the painting! Me and Parce love it very much!" Antonio beamed at the girl, holding her hand as to show her where he hung the painting that she had made.

"We can't thank you enough, . Tonito absolutely adores the painting you made for him, it always brings a smile to his face the same way I do when I look at the one you made for me." Pepa linked her arms to the girl's free ones as they walked, she absolutely adores the young teen, Pepa once had doubts of the stoic girl before, however such thoughts was immediately washed away the moment she realized how sweet and caring the girl is behind the stony exterior she presents.

"I'm glad you guys liked it just as much as I enjoyed painting it." She softly spoke, her voice almost in a hushed whisper as she felt overwhelmed with the complement being thrown at her.

"Oh, . We love it to bits!" Pepa squeezed the girl's arm in attempt to convey the appreciation they felt for the little things she had done. Antonio on the other hand, hummed enthusiastically in agreement as he as well greatly appreciated the beautiful art she made.

"I can't wait to call you when you become part of the family!" Antonio gleefully cheered, hugging the girl's leg as she finally had the chance to touch his hair.

"Part of the family? What do you mean by that Antonio?" She asked, her head tilting slightly as she wondered what the little boy meant. Pepa on the other hand, unconsciously creating a small cloud from above her head. She's afraid the Antonio might blow Camilo's chance of properly confessing to the girl if he continued speaking, Pepa butted-in discreetly ushering Antonio to leave the two alone for a bit.

"What Antonio meant by that is that, hehe, uhm, he's excited for you to become a family... Friend! Yes, family friend." The small drizzle that had dropped from above Pepa's head did not help this case, but luckily the girl was easily convinced enough by her quick explanation.

"Oh, I now I'm getting you all soaked. , I'm such a nervous trainwreck." She apologetically spoke as it rained even more.

"It's quite alright, Pepa. I actually love it when it rains, it's gives off such a calming atmosphere." The teen reached out to gently hold Pepa's upper arm, reassuring her that it's okay, that she doesn't have to feel the need to suppress her emotions when she's around.

"But, but your clothes... It's all soaked."

"In every storm, there's a rainbow. By that I mean it'll all come to pass, it'll dry out eventually."

Barely anyone besides her family actually appreciates or even like her gift, they were always cautious not to annoy her, sadden her, heck, even make her too happy!

She's scared that if she let out her emotions she might accidentally hurt somebody, she's scared that she might ruin a special occasion, and the list goes on and on.

The once happy go lucky child she once was, was reduced to an emotionally repressed woman who's afraid to even cry and be too happy. She felt the inherent need to not ruin everyone's day even if her's was absolutely horrible, chanting ‘’ like a mantra in a desperate attempt to quell the raging hurricane bottled up inside of her.

"You are such a wonderful child, I hope you know that." Pepa smiled, the rain cloud that was once on her head was now replaced with a  beautiful rainbow.

She truly appreciates how the girl in front of her didn't even immediately try to calm her down, instead she simply lets her let everything out first before speaking.

"? (Y/n)?"

Camilo asked, perplexed at the sight in front of him. His mother and his friend is quite soaked despite the bright rainbow formed above her head,

"Milo, ! Right on cue, could you be a dear and ask Mirabel to lend your friend here some dry clothes for a bit while I dry her wet ones? Sorry again, ."
