I couldn't believe I took too long taking a shower just thinking about not ruining my afternoon with Sofia and now I was arriving late because of that. But then I wondered, what was I supposed to ruin? I mean, we were just friends having a coffee or something. The mall was crowded, as always. That didn't help my anxiety. Anxiety? Why anxiety? Why are you anxious? Right there I realized why I was so anxious. It wasn't because it was a date or anything. It was simply because meeting people made me nervous. There wasn't anything special about this in particular. I repeated it to myself once or twice and went to the coffee shop.

The coffee shop was close to the entrance. The walls were transparent so you could see inside, but there were some tables outside. I tried to catch a glimpse of Sofia before entering but then I noticed Sofia was at one of the tables outside. I froze. It took me some moments to realize she was laughing. She was with someone. Who? Who's with her? Did she get bored waiting so she called someone? No. I didn't take that long, right? Wait, did she invite someone from the very beginning because she was going to be bored? Am I supposed to deal with more pressure? Spending time with an unknown person? Am I that boring? What are you doing? Go there! All those thoughts were running like crazy in my mind when Sofia looked at me:

—Hey, Jay! What are you doing there? Come!

The person who was with her turn her head to see me. Her hair was very short, her eyes were big, and were half-closed. She had bags under them. She was wearing black lipstick. I couldn't read her expression. She wasn't happy nor angry. I was a little intimidated, but at the moment I supposed it was because new people always intimidated me.

When I reached the table, Sofia told me smiling:

—This is Sabrina. She's my best friend.

Been a while! I was publishing my novel in other places, too and was super busy. I hope you enjoy the new chapter!
