A Reincarnator's Journey

David Valor, a normal sophomore student, dies in a cliche 'truck-kun' accident just to get sent to another world by the system! Using the 'true' system, he slowly rises to the top of the food chain before truly begining his adventure! (David may not be a "Good" Mc as I want to write it in a way of what I would do if I was in this situation myself. Of course there will also be some things different than what I think as well.) *** Note: I have no real plans for this story, it was made on a whim, so it may lose quality on the way, please read with caution! Schedule: I'm still in school so updates will also be somewhat slow, also, english is not my first language so please comment if I wrote something wrong! Thank you for reading!

Where... Am I?

Although David's body has a strong healing factor, with the battle he had yesterday and the wounds he had received from it, it was enough to knock him out for at least another 2 days.

(A/N: Plot.)

"Huh? What... is this place?" David was alert, even though he was weak now, with a day of sleep, he could keep some weaker monsters off of him easily if needed.

He looked around, only to see that he was in a small carriage as he could feel that whatever he was in, it was moving as he could feel the bumps.

Looking around again, his eyes cleared, taking in the surroundings for some possible clue of where he is currently.

The seats weren't made of extremely expensive material, but it was still quite luxurious as if he was on a more... industrial carriage? It had comfortable leather seats, windows, the are also blinds, overall, the environment is quite comfortable and low key.

"A noble's carriage? Why would they save a 'commoner' like me? I didn't save anyone... nor did I come in contact with them... Also my-oh..." David looked at himself and saw that for some reason, his horns, tail, and wings were gone!

"Must've been the mana drain on my body, automatically changing myself so that I could save some mana..." Hearing footsteps, David immediately laid back down and closed his eyes.

The door opened, revealing a young boy, around 15 years old, only a year away from being an adult. His soft and delicate features on his face brought out the light blue suit he was wearing, making him look rather handsome, yet adorable as well. He has azure blue colored hair and eyes, shining with gentleness.

Behind him was a middle-aged man who had a business casual outfit on, most likely his driver when he's in the carriage.

'So that's what they look like, what do they want from me though?' David slowed his breathing, making him really appear asleep.

"How is his health?" The boy asked.

"He... he is recovering, he'll be fine after another day of rest..." The man replied.

"Mn..." he absently replied, looking at David with worry.

"Young master, why did you decide to... rescue this commoner? I understand that you want to help people... but this man was unconscious in a dangerous area! What if he's a criminal?" The driver anxiously asked.

"No comment, but I do see that although the time and place are quite suspicious, his aura gives him away, I don't think he'll kill me." The body stared at the driver.

"Bu-... sigh... alright then. Let's continue on our journey home, young master." The man bowed and walked to the front of the carriage.

"... phew... you can wake up now." The boy nudged David.

"So you did know I was faking it..." David opened his eyes and sat up leisurely.

"Yes, I did... Ah! I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Bennett Vales of the Vale family." He proudly and playfully lifted his chin in slight arrogance.

"A noble? I have never heard of such a noble family where I was..." David muttered.

'Bennett... no, it must be a coincidence...' David did have a few true friends in school, one of them also had the name Bennett.

"I am a noble from the capital, Uesta..." Bennett replied to his muttering.

"I see, that means we're heading to the capital since you're going home, correct?" David asked.

"Yes, we are returning home from my trip to Grant city. It was mostly for some training to inherit the family... boring." Bennett smiled.

'Oh? So is he one of those "rare" nobles then?' David smiled in return.

"Since you've introduced yourself, so will I. My name is David Valor, a commoner and an E rank adventurer." He said.

'David... Valor? I need to confirm this later...' Bennett smiled as if he was meeting an old friend.

"I have a few questions, may I?" David asked respectfully since the boy in front of him is a noble, and it wouldn't be smart to offend someone that could send experts to kill him.

"Hm? Sure!" He replied.

"What does your family do for a business?" David asked.

"Oh, although I can't say what they do, I can say that we are a family with the rank of Marquis! Here's proof!" Bennett shoved a small medal onto David.

'He's quite similar to Bennett, always trying to prove himself.'

(A/N: In terms of different worlds, Bennett is raised from 0 to 15 years old, meaning that yes, he is 15 years older than David is, even if he died after David. The laws of time are weird as Bennett was supposed to die while David was still in the system's process of reincarnation.)

"Don't worry, I believe you..." David placed the medal back into Bennett's hands.

"Ok... oh yeah! Why were you passed out in the Misty Grasslands?" Bennett tilted his head.

"Is that its real name?"

"No, it was just misty at the time, so that's why... Because the land here isn't actually claimed by anyone as it was deemed quite too dangerous." Bennett replied.

'Too dangerous? I can understand the bosses, but as the capital, surely they must have some experts... right? Unless, I was only at an outer layer of the grasslands... I am just a rank 2 hybrid, so it should be plausible.'

"I was passed out because I was attacked by some of the monsters here. I didn't know that this land wasn't claimed as I just arrived at Bales city, so I didn't know how dangerous it would be..." David sighed, looking dejected.

"I see..."

"Another question. Why would you rescue a stranger, especially a commoner like me?" David narrowed his eyes but didn't make a move as he could've died in his sleep if it weren't for them.

"I rescued you because I wanted to, can I not?" Bennett brushed it off.

"I... I suppose I'll believe you as you could've killed me anytime. So, what do you want from me then?" David calmly asked.

"We'll see." he mysteriously replied.

David didn't ask about it further and instead went on to just talk about other subjects to get to know each other. After all, getting support from a noble's son should be quite good for him later on.

As time went on, Bennett slept first without any fear in front of a stranger.

"Interesting..." from his reaction, David knew that either the driver was skilled, or there were some sort of shadow guards protecting them, so without any hesitation, David fell asleep on the other side of the carriage.
