A Reincarnator's Journey

David Valor, a normal sophomore student, dies in a cliche 'truck-kun' accident just to get sent to another world by the system! Using the 'true' system, he slowly rises to the top of the food chain before truly begining his adventure! (David may not be a "Good" Mc as I want to write it in a way of what I would do if I was in this situation myself. Of course there will also be some things different than what I think as well.) *** Note: I have no real plans for this story, it was made on a whim, so it may lose quality on the way, please read with caution! Schedule: I'm still in school so updates will also be somewhat slow, also, english is not my first language so please comment if I wrote something wrong! Thank you for reading!

"Seems like time was finally up!" Feil commented on the disconnected stream.

"Ehh... it really was only ten minutes?" Hana was disappointed.

"We all want to see more of his strength, Hana." Kyle patted her shoulder.

The two had just exited the menu screen and had returned to the academy.

"Alright, so don't tell me it until we go back to the dorms alright?" David requested.

"Yep, I got it!" Bennett smiled at the amount of experience he gained today.

"Good, just to remind you, around a third of our class is here, so... try to divert your excitement to something else." David said.

"Eh? They're still here? I thought that they would've left already..." he was slightly surprised but didn't dwell too much on it.

*Step... step... step... beep...*

The door slid open, revealing David and Bennett.

Looking out of the corner of his eye, David turned to look at the five classmates, "Oh. You guys are still here?" he asked.

"Haha... we were curious on how you would do..." Feil laughed.

"No worries... but, uh... was there a reason for you five to be here tonight?" Bennett asked.

Feil smiled as Kyle spoke, "Actually, we wanted to hold a small competition today in the virtual arena. We would set up a... 'level' and try to complete it." he explained.

Seeing Bennett's slowly darkening expression, he quickly explained, "It's not that we didn't want to invite you but... you were still unconscious at the time, and Bennett wanted to take care of y-"

David waved his hand with a smile n his face, "No worries, we understand... right, Bennett?" he patted Bennett's shoulder.

"Yep! You can always invite us next time!" he grinned, relieving the atmosphere.

David saw someone behind one of the buildings and bowed to Feil, "Well... your highness, everyone, it's getting quite late now, everyone. We shall take our leave."

"That's fine, we hope you're able to get better soon!" Hana smiled.

"Thanks, see you all tomorrow!" he waved, pulled Bennett away.

The two quickly left the area, leaving the five students to themselves, which they disbanded for the same reason quickly after.

Reaching their dorms, David stops pulling Bennett and stops, "You sense that?" his eyes became vigilant.

"I didn't, but the system warned me. Seems like it was someone very skilled, being able to hide his presence so well." Bennett panted slightly.

"It should be fine. The academy wouldn't let someone like him in if he would harm anyone here, either that or he's someone strong enough to bypass the barrier." David pushed Bennett into the dormitory.

"Come on, you go up first, whoever this person is, he or she is most likely looking for me." Bennett nodded, leaving.

Seeing that Bennett had really left, David had walked into the alleyway where he last saw that suspicious person.

Arriving in the alleyway, David could see the person was now in front of him.

He... or she, had a very dark cloak on, and it was large enough so that it wouldn't reveal whether the body type was that of a woman or a man.

Sensing that there really was no danger, or warning from the system, he spoke, "Is there something you need from me? I could feel your stare... it was quite uncomfortable."

The cloaked person was surprised at his calmness, "You weren't panicked at all... seeing someone wearing this following you?" the person's robotic voice rang out.

Due to the fact that it was a robotic case, David couldn't tell and continued the conversation, "Of course not, I'm confident in my danger perception... and my gut feeling." he shrugged.

'But you do make me feel socially awkward, talking to some robot...' he thought.

"I see... I can tell that you and your brother are... very special... something that only upper beings have..." the robotic voice rang into his ears again.

'Was there anything I did that could be connected to the system...?' David panicked slightly.

Narrowing his eyes, he stared at the cloaked person, "Let's not waste each other's time, get to the point..." he said, with some suppressed feeling spilling out from his voice.

"Knowing more about you isn't a waste of my time, though I suppose I'll get to the point. Be careful, there are some people who would kill for your talents... especially here, where competition is fierce."

David visibly relaxed, but was still quite vigilant, "Who sent you?"

"I was sent by someone... named... Samuel..." it backed up.

"Samuel... wait, brother?" David had a sudden realization.

'Does he have a system? My parents are pretty young compared to the age of the professors here, so it would make sense if Samuel was a genius due to a system.' David didn't stop the cloaked person, and let it leave.

David quickly returned to the dorms before curfew and went to his dorm room to see Bennett pacing around again.

"The heck you pacing around for? I'm fine." David's voice rang in his ear.

He froze. Looked at David, and breathed a sigh of relief, "Good... nothing happened..."

"Of course nothing happened. Anyway, I do need to tell you something." he hesitated.

He noticed David's hesitance, "What's wrong? Is it something bad?" he asked.

"It can be considered as such. Whoever that cloaked person is, it seems like a servant of Samuel. Although it didn't say his last name, I can assume that it is elder brother. There was a faint smell of him as well." he inferred.

(A/N: Remember when a mark of the Vales have been integrated to David? To prove the authenticity of the identity, several things would be changed, like scent, aura, things like that.)

"Elder brother... is there anything they said?" Bennett asked, clenching his fists.

"They warned me... saying that there's going to be people who would want to kill us for our talents..." he replied.

"... What... does that even mean?" he showed a confused expression.

"I don't necessarily know either, it could be anything from offending someone to getting killed by other system users, but one thing we need is power. Quickly too." David looked at Bennett to see his reaction.

All he could hear was him taking a deep breath, "Seems like we're being dragged into trouble now, aren't we? Just like those protagonists in those novels..." he casted a wry smile on his face.

"Fair enough, it really does seem like something's about to start." David looked outside the window, observing the shining stars.

"Mn." he nodded in agreement.

Seeing how Bennett wasn't really responding he switched to another topic, "Come on, let's see how much progress you've made today."
