A Rat and Red Thing

Both let out a battle roar before charging at each other. The rat jumped to the right and bounced off a hut at the hobgoblin. The hut the rat used as a platform swayed back and forth a little after the sudden increase in force against it. The rat was nearing the hobgoblin when it suddenly felt pain in its stomach; the hobgoblin had swung the back of the spear and hit the rat in the stomach.

The rat was launched in the air, and then the hobgoblin threw its spear at the rat. The rat had successfully gathered enough shadow in one area it could prevent the piercing damage. The force however was another story.

The rat was launched a little further into the air and pieces of its shadow was knocked off. The rat was hurtling back towards the earth. The rat did two things during this period: it used [Body Scan] on the hobgoblin to look for any weaknesses from a battle or from its race and it used the 4th level [Support Magic] spell, [Weight Reduction]. From the scan it could see there was a weak spot for all hobgoblins in the scalp. The scalp had extra nerves and pain receptors; this would be as damaging but would cause immense pain. There was another weakness, but that would be used for later.

The rat had landed with a solid thud. It had regained 5 Hp while in the air so the damage could be ignored for now. When the rat stood up shadows began to swirl around the rat and its cloak was fully formed once more. The hobgoblin began approaching, and in response the rat used [Presence Erase] tans hid. The hobgoblin slowed down and was trying to look for it while approaching. The rat had then deactivated [Presence Erase] and began running while occasionally using [Glare].

The hobgoblin kept being misled by the sudden waves of bloodlust it felt. Turning to look one way only to feel it coming from somewhere else was extremely frustrating. It kept turning around and eventually just stopped. It swung its head towards the sky and let out an intense roar. The rat stopped running, temporarily paralyzed in fear; the hobgoblin looked over to the left and saw the small dog-sized monster. It then dashed towards the rat with its spear ready to pierce it. The rat had just regained its abilities to move again when it was hit by this attack.

The rat had shifted its shadows to prevent it from being skewered but still felt the force. Pieces of the shadow flew off, but were then replaced by the ones in the surrounding area. The rat was right in front of the hobgoblin, and used its tail, swinging it onto its head. The rat then increased its grip and used [Crush] on the hobgoblins head. The rat could only scrape it because of the size difference between the hobgoblin's head and the rat's mouth, but that was enough. The hobgoblin roared in pain and agony and stopped all movement. The rat was flung off, but managed to land properly.

The hobgoblin let out wails of pain as it was on its knees gripping its head. The damage done was minimal, but the pain was like having nails draw pictures atop your head. The hobgoblin flipped its head up and looked for the rat with teary eyes, however, the rat was nowhere to be seen. The rat had used [Presence Erase] and escaped from the eyes of the hobgoblin. It proceeded by going right under and using [Crush] on a specific spot. The groin.

Blinding pain. This was the only thing registering in the hobgoblin's mind. It pushed out anger, agony, frustration, and all other emotions and feelings. Tears swelled up in the hobgoblin's eyes. It fell to the ground, first knees, then face. It lay weeping and conscious to its own detriment. Then it felt a slice appear there, as the rat had just used [Distant Scratch]. The hobgoblin normally would be able to survive this, but then a certain accomplishment kicked in.

The hobgoblin began to split in two. More than half of the hobgoblin had been split right down the middle, and standing right at the beginning of the cut in this monster was a rat.
