Girlfriend

"Who's she?" Calista asked as soon as that lady sat down.

"She's my girlfriend! Her name is Yoona. We both got together officially yesterday and I wanted to let you know as soon as possible!" Zaire said as he was smiling and one could see the joy in his eyes.

Yoona smiled sweetly when he announced her as his girlfriend.

"And Yoona she's my girl best friend Calista!" Zaire continued introducing the two to each other.

"Hi! We finally met! I heard so much about you from Zaire! And you look very pretty in person!" Yoona talked sweetly to Calista as she clasped both of her hands revealing the gorgeous diamond ring.

Calista stayed there dumbstruck. Yoona was a pretty lady there was no doubt in it. But that broke her heart even more. She was taken aback ever since Zaire introduced Yoona as his girlfriend.

<So It wasn't for me>. Was the first thought that came to Calista's mind. She was so excited and expecting a lot. So this was how it was going to go.

Calista pushed her thoughts aside for now and put on a business smile and replied "It's nice to meet you too Yoona!"

Yoona smiled in response. They went silent for few seconds. "We should start ordering!" Zaire said which broke the almost awkward silence. They flipped through the menu.

"what do you want to eat?" Zaire asked Yoona lovingly. "I want some Pizza" she replied smiling sweetly with heart eyes.

Calista sat across the two love birds. <We are three here and can you please stop being all lovey-dovey in front of me?> Calista rolled her eyes at her own thought.

"What do you want Calista?" Zaire asked when he realised she was sitting right in front of them.

<Took you long enough to realise huh? If i knew i was going to third wheel i wouldn't have come> Calista thought internally "well i'd..." just as she was about to continue her phone rang.

The name read 'The ever pestering psychotic boss' She was shoked. She's done for. Her boss was calling! It was the department head!

"ughh I'll have to take this one" She smiled awkwardly at the couple and picked up her phone.

"CALISTA!! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? EVERY ONE ELSE IS STARVING HERE PREPARING FOR THE NEW CEO'S ARRIVAL AND YOU DECIDE TO GET LUNCH? DO YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH? COME BACK IMMEDIETLY!" Her boss was screaming on top of his lungs. She had to cover her phone yet everyone was able to hear it clearly.

She had to leave immediately otherwise she was dead meat!.

"It's a little busy back in the company and my boss wants me there immediately hahaha" She laughed awkwardly as she explained the situation after looking at Zaire's and Yoona's expressions. They were shocked! She had no time to explain further. She collected her things and then left the place.

Calista pratically was sprinting her way to the office. As soon as she entered she met her boss. He was fuming. He asked her to arrange a pile of files as her punishment for running away.

She knew she'd have to do it sooner or later. She did her best and arranged the files in just one hour. She was quickly able to finish it because she was both determined and frustrated at the same time.

She was determined to complete her job and she was frustrated because of what happened few hours ago with Zaire.

She got back to her seat when her phone chimed. She received a message from the bank.

It read "This is your reminder to pay off your loan with interest....click to read more."

That's right she had to pay off her loan. She was working her ass off for this. She wanted to pay off her loans and settle down.

That was when her brother Chris called. "Sis, We are behind on the rent! Can you transfer some money immediately? I'll make sure to pay you back!" Chris said.

"You don't have to pay me back Chris I'm your sister and i'll wire the money now" Calista said and let out a huge sigh.

She slumped down on her desk and heaved a long sigh again.
