Beatrice - "So… what, pray tell, was that?"
Vergil - "Ahh, that, that was me practicing a new move."
Beatrice - "And what move would that be?"
Vergil - "Focus blast."
I can be pretty good at lying through my teeth sometimes. However, this doesn't seem to be one of those times.
Beatrice - "So you're telling me you were practicing focus blast? At this time without supervision? In this tiny cave? Localized entirely within a small ball in your hand?"
She doesn't seem to believe me! Quick Vergil think of something!
Vergil - "Yes."
Nooooooooo!
Beatrice - "May I see it?"
Okay good, keep it going.
Vergil - "No."
Well shit. Mom just sighs before saying.
Beatrice - "Listen, there is no need to lie. I already knew what it was. I must say I am a little disheartened to see that you do not yet trust me."
Wow she looks really sad. God damnit don't give me that look.
Vergil - "I was just trying to keep a secret for a bit. Because I had something in mind for you."
I say looking at the ground in shame for making such a sweet woman sad. I really actually did have something brewing, but now it's kind of ruined. I wanted to attempt to impress her by showing off not only my aura, but also my psychic abilities. Yeah I never told her that I learned confusion yet. I wanted it to be a secret.
Beatrice - "Oh, my apologies for ruining the surprise, but perhaps would you like to show me now?"
I nod my head and use my psychic powers to move a rock from the corner. The second I activate them she looks at me with surprise. I am only bring the rock to me before it drops into my hand. I look at her and ask.
Vergil - "Do you see now? My psychic abilities are not really much to look at. I do plan to train it though."
She beamed in happiness before bringing me into a hug.
Beatrice - "Awwww, I'm sorry for ruining your plan. Thank you for this though, I was already very proud of you and now, more so."
I returned the hug before saying.
Vergil - "No problem mother. Though I do have a quick question. How did you know what that was? Gardevoirs, from what I know, don't use aura."
I ask suspiciously.
Beatrice - *cough cough* "That's not important now. What is though, is your new friend Diana, has spoken to me about some things."
Vergil - "Oh? And what would that be?"
Beatrice - "She's is about your age actually. Also once she heard of your training with Miranda she wished to join. Would you be okay with this arrangement?"
Well I have to hand it to her, she's very thoughtful. I would prefer if as few people as possible see what I'm capable of. Hmmm well whatever. It might actually be beneficial for them to know my strength now rather than later.
Vergil - "I have no objections to this arrangement."
Beatrice - "Great! Let me go tell Diana this news!"
She says with a smile before darting off. Damn for someone who doesn't use their legs very often she can RUN! She comes back with Diana a minute later and says.
Beatrice - "Dear, would you mind skipping tomorrow's training so that Diana can get oriented to Miranda's extreme… training?"
She starts with a smile that shifts to disdain the next second.
Vergil - "Yes, I do not mind. But mother, come here real quick. There is something I would like to discuss."
Beatrice - "Yes?"
Vergil - "I haven't though about it until now, but where specifically are we?"
Beatrice - "I was wondering when you would ask this question. Right now we are on a continent called 'Kanto' that is inhabited by other Pokémon, but most importantly, humans. Humans have the capability of capturing Pokémon within capsules called Pokéballs. Luckily Pokéballs have an internal environment that is suited to that Pokémon's needs. Not to the point where they could live in it, but to where they can be comfortable in it."
Vergil - 'Hmm, maybe it's like the canon?' "How many other continents are there?"
Beatrice - "There are many, with some islands in between. However the biggest and most recognized to the humans are Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Galar. Alola is technically an archipelago, but they consider it a continent."
Vergil - 'Hmmm, just as I suspected.' "Where on Kanto are we?"
Beatrice - "We are in what the humans call 'Veridian Forest.' Humans luckily believe there are primarily weak Pokémon here, so we don't get invaders this deep very often."
Vergil - 'Well, time to act my part.' "What are these 'humans' you keep talking about?"
Beatrice - "Humans are about a bit below my height, primape like, furless beings that have cream colored skin. If you ever see one, run. They will likely attempt to capture you in a Pokéball."
Vergil - "What merit do they gain from capturing me?"
Beatrice - "Well sometimes humans will make you battle for sport. Or maybe they are a greedy human and sell you off for goods."
Vergil - "I see, thank you for clearing my confusion. Now. I should probably get back to my aura training."
Beatrice - "Yes, yes. I'll leave you alone now."
And so she did, and training continued onward.
———————2 years later——————
Okay NOW I'm doing the 2 year time skip. Just letting you all know now, if you have any questions you might as well speak your mind now. Also sorry for the relatively short chapter, I'm tired right now. Anywho, see ya.
