CHAPTER 69 -BREE AT LAST.

"Oh, what have I done!" Janice said, burying her face in her hands, quivering. But then for some reason she couldn't tell, she looked up.

Not very far from where she stood was a very large pit in the earth. That was rather odd, she thought. Peering closer, Janice observed that the hole was big enough to accommodate something fairly large.

Perhaps, it was an animal trap? she wondered, inching closer. Her foot kicked a tiny log, and it went rolling into the lethal sharp teeth of an addax trap that'd been preset, with its jaws wide open.

Snapping, the trap grasped the log so tightly in its teeth that it broke into two. Letting out a low shriek, Janice moved a few steps back.

That could have been her leg! Why was the forest suddenly full of traps?! Could the enemy soldiers have set them?! She wondered.

Her eyes wandered back to the pit again and she gasped.

'Darian!'
