6 Meeting a guy with a Straw Hat and a Green Bandana

After passing the calm belt without any hitch, a Marine ship safely arrived at a port somewhere. A young man stood at the planks in the end of the bridge looking his surroundings.

"Hahaha so this is East Blue, looks like a peaceful place to rest and take a vacation. Yet most of the dangerous people in the world came from this very seas and that makes it interesting" Lucas then laughed. Lucas took a stroll around the town to learn some information.

"I need to find the way to Shelltown to intercept Luffy before he meets Zoro" Lucas then realized something.

He realized how he would join the Straw Hat's crew in the first place, should he ask Luffy himself? Or should he wait an important opportunity to make an impression of himself to draw his attention.

"But that guy, Luffy. Even if he is an idiot, he still knows how to judge a character as I watched how he invited every member of his crew" Lucas then realized this is a problem.

"I should finish first what am I doing and find my way to Shelltown" Lucas then hired a helmsman to row a boat he rented with all of his remaining savings and bring him to his destination.

Lucas sat on his boat and begun his venture on his way to Shelltown. Hours passed, Lucas then thinks of ways on how to actually join the crew.

Even with all the thinking, Lucas still didn't find a single reason why Luffy would ask him. Then he suddenly firmed his resolve, this resolution came from his confidence to himself. The confidence to believe that he is worthy. That's how simple it is. If it doesn't work, then so it be.

"I should make it straightforward and simple!" Lucas then arrived shortly in Shelltown. He didn't find a lodging, instead he looked for a spot, a spot he remembered where someone would arrive with a boy named Coby.

Lucas then sat at the edge of the plank. Look at the seas with a clear mind, admired the view and close his eyes appreciating how beautiful the nature.

A day passed, Lucas didn't move. Even if someone is gossiping behind him, looking at him weirdly. He didn't mind a single about it because they don't show any Ill intentions on him. After another three days no one arrived. Lucas started to waver in his mind.

"Is it worth it? I can make my own journey, I can make a name for myself, I have the power so why do I still need to do this?" Lucas was about to stand, but something inside him, precisely in his mind started to shine.

"What is this?" Lucas then hold of that light. As he touched the light a pillar of light hit him.

"I see, I don't need to answer those questions myself. The answer is in front of me, all the time.

"BECAUSE IT'S MUCH MORE FUN"

Lucas then laughed at his stupidity. He realized that he is also an idiot and that's not bad.

"HAHAHAHAHA" Lucas laughed, then sat firmly again. At this time, something caught his eye's attention. A small boat with a sail. Lucas then smiled excitedly and decided to keep his calm and show his honest nature.

"If we maintain this course, we'll reach the Marines base's Island soon"

"Hey, that's pretty impressive, Coby! Are you sure we'll get there?"

"Of course, it's the most basic skill for a sailor. This is nothing to laugh about, Luffy-san. That's where he's being held"

"The Infamous Pirate Hunter, Roronoa Zoro!"

"Wait, Luffy-san someone is sitting at the end of the dock! Look Luffy-san, is he here to stop us? Is he an underling of Captain Morgan?" Coby scare of the man sitting.

"Hahahaha he looks strong! I want to fight him!" Luffy Laughlingly look at Lucas on the shore.

"He's probably stronger, Luffy-san stop it" Coby worriedly reprimanded Luffy.

"Hahahahaha No problem. I'm strong" Luffy laughed and looked at Lucas.

Lucas excited deep inside yet a calm faced on the surfaced. He then looked at him. The legendary figure, future Pirate king Monkey D. Luffy.

"Hahahaha he really looks like an idiot truthfully, that's why I like him more" Lucas smiled looking at Luffy. He released a battle intent.

Luffy realized that Lucas was looking at him. He then felt something, a feeling of danger yet it was not a bad feeling.

As the boat was arriving Luffy then shouted.

"You're strong. Want to fight?" Luffy straightforwardly asked.

"Hahahaha looks like this is unavoidable" Lucas was also looking forward at this fight as this might be the only serious confrontation with Luffy he will experience.

"Even though you are my favorite character, you and I still need to earn something we call respect" Lucas thought of this then stood up.

"Come!" as simple as that Lucas and Luffy readied their stance. Both of them our devil fruit eaters yet with the distance between them and the water they still started.

Luffy then suddenly prepared to punch. No! It's not an ordinary punch. Luffy knows that guys is not weak, so he won't hold back. Luffy then jumps and punched, his hand extended suddenly so fast yet Lucas dodged it sideways.

"Even if it's fast, I can still see it as our distance is still considered far away" Lucas then realized as he dodged the hand, they actually hold at the post supporting the planks.

"Damn, I know this one" Lucas looked at Luffy.

"Gomu Gomu No Rocket!" Luffy launched himself towards Lucas.

Lucas then readied a block stance as he doesn't have a sword right now as it broke early on against the fight with Hawk-Eyes Mihawk.

"This will not be enough" Lucas then used his Zushi Zushi no Mi powers. He added a heavy layer of gravity in front of him.

Luffy arrived with a speed of a rocket. Bang! Luffy suddenly felt heavy! He realized something.

"He is a Devil Fruit eater too!" as Lucas felt the heavy feeling. He did a front flip in front of Lucas.

He raised one of his feet in the air and kick downward using his momentum.

Lucas was shocked how fast Luffy changes his tactics. He firmed himself ready to receive this attack.

"Ugh! What a strong kick!" Lucas was then pushed back.

He raised both of his hands to release the force.

"Haaaaah!" Lucas exhaled heavily, he looked at Luffy smiling and flex his body again for another round. Without warning he ran into Luffy planning to tackle him.

Luffy then jumped, he stretches his arm back then throws a devastating punch.

"Gomu Gomu no Pistol" Luffy straightly punched to Lucas.

Lucas used his Zushi Zushi no Mi powers to make the gap between him and Luffy increase the gravity to make it heavier. Still, even if the punched is slowed down, it can still be considered fast. Lucas then blocks again.

"Damn! His punched is really not a joke" Lucas then pushed his powers to the limit to increase the gravity in his surroundings.

Luffy realized the heavy feeling yet he didn't stop. Both of them ran to each other again, then they started to do what every man would do. They Brawl.

This continued for minutes without interruption, nobody is giving in. Suddenly both of them punched reached and hit each other with great momentum, both with Devil Fruit Powers not holding back.

"Baaaaaang!"

A heavy Shockwave occurred that stopped them abruptly.

Both of them suddenly stand in a distance. They look each other, and relax their body. Unexpectedly, both of them started laughing.

"Hahahahahaha I like you. You're strong" Luffy said to Lucas while laughing.

"You're not so bad either, so who are you?" Lucas then expect one of his catchphrases.

"Hahahaha My name is MONKEY D. LUFFY. I'm gonna become the Pirate King!" Luffy then added something that shocked Lucas.

"Do you want to be my Nakama?" Luffy asked smiling.

Lucas was shocked, even if he wants to answer the question, he decided not to say yes yet. Lucas then asked a question.

"Why you've just met me?" Lucas asked seriously.

"Because I like you, and I don't feel you are not a bad person at all, so join my crew!" Luffy answered truthfully.

"This guy, he really is a sharp person, but not bad, not bad at all" Lucas thought of this then he walked towards Luffy.

"You didn't even asked my name, Nonetheless, I would join your crew" Lucas laugh.

"I don't need to know your name, if you don't want to" Luffy laughed again happily that he find a crewmate this early on.

"Hahahahha My name is PENDRAGON D. LUCAS, I wanted to be the most adventurous person in the world, a person recognized to experience everything" Lucas declared seriously.

"That's perfect! I'd accept nothing less from the Pirate King's Nakama"

"So can you find the One Piece?" Lucas jokingly asked Luffy.

"Do I need to answer that question?"

"You're right, you're really right, I don't need to asked, because we will find for sure hahahahaha" Both of them laughed again.

"Hahahaha Great! You'll be my Nakama! This is great! Yosh!" They laugh and smile again and again.

"So what are you? I ate the Zushi Zushi no Mi so I have Gravity powers, it's still weak for now, but It'll be better".

"I'm a rubber man, I ate the Gomu Gomu Fruit looked" Luffy then stretch his mouth.

"Hahahaha I touched his body and stretch his skin, Hahahah it's really a rubber hahahah!

Both of them hit it off fast, as both of them talked each other they even forgot someone is watching them shaking at the boat that just arrived. It's Coby.

"Luffy-san are you finished?" Coby asked.

Luffy then realized that he is with someone.

"Coby he's my new Nakama, he's Lucas" Luffy then introduced Lucas to Coby.

"What? you've just met him, now he is your nakama?, what if he is a bad person? Coby worriedly asked.

Luffy smacked the head of Coby.

"He is not a bad person!"

"Ouch, that hurts Luffy-san"

"Hahahaha Don't do that to him, Luffy, I'm Lucas the new Nakama! Probably the vice-Captain" Lucas introduced himself to Coby to not scare him.

"Hahahaha I'm Coby, Lucas-san" Coby then relaxed as he felt that Lucas is not a bad person.

"So what both of you are doing here?" Lucas asked as all of them started to walk towards a building in the middle of the town.

"We are here to find a new Nakama!" Luffy laugh again.

"Hey, Luffy-san, please forget about getting him to join your crew" Coby worriedly advised.

"I haven't even decided yet. I have to see if he's a good guy"

As all of this happening Lucas just smiled in the sidelines.

Coby still bickered how scary Zoro was, yet Luffy was unfazed.

"Is he strong?" I asked.

"Yes, he is the Infamous Pirate Hunter, he pursues wanted men like a bloodthirsty animal and slices them up. People say he's a demonic beast in the guise of a man!"

Lucas just laughs how scared is this boy. It will still take time for Coby to be brave, he's almost there.

"We're here!" Luffy suddenly said that stop them.

"I heard that Captain Morgan is in command of this base" Lucas shared some of the information to them.

Suddenly Coby cried.

"I'm finally here! This is where we part ways, Luffy-san, Lucas-san. We've only known each other a short while, but..." Coby cryingly said.

Lucas and Coby realized that Luffy is hanging on the wall looking at something.

"Where's the demonic beast?" Luffy said happily.

Lucas was curious too, so he also jumped and look.

"Lucas-san, why did you follow suit? And he wouldn't be out here, he's probably in solitary confinement, deep underground" Coby shocked by Lucas decision.

"He is here!" Lucas and Luffy said at the same time.

Luffy and Lucas ran to the side with Coby following him.

"It can't be" Coby didn't believe what both of them are saying. He also looked at the middle of the field.

"No, it is him!" Coby realized that a man tied to a cross.

Lucas then smiles when he saw the man. He is the Santoryu user no other than Roronoa Zoro.

"A dark bandana, a sash around the waist, a green hair" Lucas was excited again as he find another character.

"Hahahaha he is Roronoa Zoro, the next crewmate!" Lucas happily think of how fast things is going.

Luffy then suddenly said.

"If we untie him, he can escape" Luffy then looked at Lucas.

"hahaha, let's do it!" Lucas happily oblige too.

"D-Don't say such stupid things!" Coby shouted towards us.
