Weirdo

"I really hope you're fine, mum." Kayla whispered to herself the moment the line went dead.

She was disturbed and seriously worried that wasn't there to detect if everything was alright with her mum. She made a mental note to call Liam later on.

It was almost past closing time and she had just finished preparing her presentation for the next day. She wanted to impress Xander with her work the next day, so she was putting all efforts just to impress him.

It may seem as though all her hard work might go down the drain, since Xander was one you can hardly impress.

She was glad the day went by faster than usual. She couldn't wait to go home so she could stand under the cold shower, till it washed off all the dirt lingering on her skin.

By the time she stepped out of the company, her driver was already waiting for her. A sly smile appeared on her face. She couldn't believe she was the one getting all these VVIP treatment.

She almost had them all.

A house that she never has to think of paying rent, a well paying job and a car and driver.

The only thing that would make her completely happy was if her family were her.

But she believed everything was a gradual process.

On getting home, she threw herself on the large couch in her sitting room. Her body ached her severely. The migraines she had been nurturing, increased with reckless abandon.

All Kayla wanted to do was shower, have a good meal, and sleep for hours. But no, she couldn't do this. She had a presentation the next morning and.....

"Oh no!" She screamed, when her brain clicked.

She hasn't gone grocery shopping ever since she arrived in New York. She had planned to go every other day but ended up not going.

Her stomach grumbled, alerting her that she hadn't had any food. She knew there was no way she was going to postpone grocery shopping, again.

She quickly showered and pulled into a hoodie and sweatpants. She'd just get a few things that would last her the month and come back home to have a good rest, before preparing for her presentation.

She left her house and flagged down a taxi that took her to a grocery store.

The grocery store was overly jam packed. She wondered if it was like that every other day, was it because it's evening already?

She made her way to grab a cart and she began shopping. She got a few things like: meat, bread, cereal, yogurt, milk, and as much as she wanted.

By the time she was done, her migraines had increased. She had a hard time locating various items on their shelves.

Heaving a sigh, she began making her way to the counter to make payments.

She was almost at the counter, when her eyes spotted a very familiar person. She squinted her eyes to have a proper look of his person.

His back was turned to her, and she wished he could just turn any moment, so she could have a proper look at him.

"It can't be him. He can't be seen in a place like this." She scoffed almost loudly, as she pushed her cart to join the long line, so her items could be checked and paid for.

It felt like hours for Kayla, before it finally got to her turn. She felt like her legs were on fire and only ice could stop the burn.

After she finished paying, she managed to drag her items out, as they were completely heavy for her.

She was sweating profusely now, including the scorching hot sun that was burning her skin.

"Can I help?" A very familiar voice said from behind. She blinked twice before turning slowly.

Her pulse increased. Her heartbeat raced faster than usual.

She couldn't believe it.

"What the fuck!" Her eyes widened with shock.

"Excuse you?" He chuckled softly.

Kayla couldn't believe it. Xander was standing right in front of her, and he was offering to help her.

She wondered if it was another version of Xander she never knew of.

"I can drive you back home, if you wish." He said and began picking up her items, to his car.

She stopped him immediately. "I'll just get a taxi." She forced a small smile. One thing Kayla vowed to avoid was being in the same space for too long, with Xander.

He smiled at her. A smile that reached his eyes. Kayla studied his eyes. They were a bit different, from what she knew Xander's eyes to be. "Your wish is my command, my lady." He chuckled, causing her to join in. "I better rush home now. Nice to meet you." He left immediately to a parked bmw.

Xander drove a Benz, why was he suddenly driving a bmw?

"Stupid Kayla, he's rich!" She reminded herself. She quickly called a taxi that drove her home.

The moment she got home, she picked up her phone and dialed Aubrey's number.

Aubrey picked up immediately.

"Hey, Kayla." Aubrey's sleepy voice came up.

"Hey, were you asleep?" Kayla questioned. She had a feeling she had just woken Aubrey up from a nap.

"Yes. I'm awake now. Anything for my bestie." Kayla was smiling at Aubrey's words now.

"I don't deserve you!"

"Shut up bitch, you deserve every part of me."

"Ewww!" Kayla scrunched her nose up in disgust, whilst Aubrey laughed.

"Guess what girl?" Kayla said, as she began arranging her purchased items on the counter.

"What?" Shuffling could be heard in the background.

"Girl, where are you at?" Kayla questioned, knowing fully well Aubrey wasn't at home.

"At Michael's. I spent the night." She giggled. Now, tell me what's going on?"

"So, I ran into Xander, while I went grocery shopping." Kayla explained. It still felt unreal to her.

"Your boss, at a regular grocery store? Quite shocking." Aubrey reasoned.

"Yes, I was shocked, but he seemed nice today. He offered to carry my grocery bags."

"Are we talking about your boss? The ride one?" Aubrey questioned in disbelief.

"Yes! But there was something off about him. His eyes looked way different. He had green eyes. My boss has gray eyes." She lamented in confusion. She had always had a thing for Xanders gray eyes, as they were captivating and suited his face.

"He could be wearing contacts, who knows." Aubrey snickered.

"This is really crazy. I can't believe it." Kayla lamented. "Isn't he proud of his eyes? I mean, I love them."

"Well, he might be insecure about it. Just check out those eyes tomorrow at work." Kayla nodded at Aubrey's words.

"Sure. I should get done with this grocery. Have fun with Michael. Love you."

"Love you too."

The line went dead.

All night, Kayla found herself drowning in thoughts. In fact, her dreams were filled with the green eyed Xander.
