Chapter 1Ch.1 Eyes Open

Prologue

Thousands of years ago, a truly gigantic meteor, the size of Georgia, one of America's states, crash-landed on our planet, creating a massive crater and wiping out most life-forms in a thousand-kilometer radius.

The meteor was a fragment of a once alive planet, which was inhabited by intelligent creatures who had a large amount of pure mana, but it's blessing was a curse in disguise. As the collective mana of every being started conflating over one specific point, it became highly unstable, eventually violently tearing the planet apart. The husk of a once mighty planet which could've been called heaven started floating aimlessly as space debris until it found itself inside the ground of our planet.

When the meteor had entered orbit of our planet, the mana surrounding it instantly collided with our planet's mana, resulting in quite a pretty, yet scary looking firework show.

The meteor had finally crashed, it started fusing with our planet. Causing the surrounding mana to be torn apart and absorbed. This great deal of mana, along with a living planet, started a violent and complex chain reaction. The meteor started taking the life force of every being around and above its crash location.

Just in 10 years, most things grew back, but the meteor still laid there, under the ground, covering a huge land mass but yet still perfectly held together. The meteor had started forcefully taking the life force of whatever resides around/above it. This means that living beings started dying on top of the meteor, as it took their life force, this includes Dragons, Demons, Elves, Humans, Dwarves, and Monsters. You name it, lots of things died above the resting place of the meteor.

The mana in the meteor began fusing with the mana and atoms that came from the dead, it started to become more concentrated than before, although rampant, nothing broke. As the years went by, the mana was in constant disarray as it started changing, mutating, and then learning.

The abundance of mana split into 5 parts and started to take shape, the five started to learn from the world above them. Two particular parts of mana, which were coincidentally the largest ones, stayed together in one spot, separated yet connected to each other. Like sisters, they started learning things from what was happening above them, while communicating with each other. At one point there was a massive and powerful empire above them, at another there was a war, and so on. So time continued with life while the meteor finally formed with our planet. Causing the mana inside the meteor to start letting through the world's mana instead of absorbing it.

The two pools of mana had seen it all happen above them, they started talking to each other. They quickly became "Friends". They had learned from the world above, if they ever leave their ethereal states, they would explore or go their own ways, but most importantly, have fun. Not only that, but they gave each other names. One named Spher by the other, and the second received the name Veesha, by Spher.

Twenty years from the present, the part called "Spher" didn't respond to Veesha anymore. She was worried, whatever could be happening? Is Spher alright? Speaking of, I'm feeling sleepy myself… Wait what?

Nineteen years from the present, the part called "Veesha" had also gone blank. All the mana that resided within the meteor, is gone. No, gone would be saying it incorrectly. The mana from the meteor had been moved to 5 separate locations.

Where did these two pools of mana, who had grown a personality, go? Due to the concentration of such irregular mana growing so large, the planet itself forced the five pools to go somewhere else.

So, they were made bodies to contain what resides within them, the world had assigned them roles, the roles of Primordial Spirits, First, The two primordial spirits who grew together, Veesha and Spher, The Spirits of Unity. The Primordial of Balance, Veesha. The Primordial of Battle, Spher. The Primordial of Fire, the Primordial of Destruction, and the Primordial of Magic. All given a 'fate' and task by the world, these five will go on to reform the planet.

Now in the present, their physical forms had been completed. At the plains of Denora, is where it all begins for these two, all they know is each other. And as they go on in the world, they'll learn more, based on what they knew from their time in the meteor, and of course also, new things entirely.

Ch.1

There I was, laying in the grass.

It felt like I've slept for an eternity…

Mmmhm… Please… five more minutes…

And so, another day had passed, I was sleeping for another entire day before I actually woke up.

My eyes are heavy… I can hear the grass rustling and the wind gently caressing my body and clothes. Today… I'll wake up! Furthermore, I can feel it!

My eyes slowly open, as I immediately get jumped by a world of color, it takes me a while to process. This… is beautiful! How come I slept for so long. But I feel like I'm missing something, something very important to me.

I looked at the sky, and stood up for the first time ever, I pointed towards the sun and tried feeling the warmth, but I felt no change… The sun… "It's so pretty!" Wait, did I just hear that double? That's not right. I looked left, no one was there, so I slowly turned my head into the other direction.

Why do I feel like I'm not alone? It's as if there was… NO, THERE IS ANOTHER PERSON! As soon as I got a glimpse of who was next to me, I started letting out tears. The person I'm looking at feels extremely familiar, as if her name would roll off my tongue. Suddenly, the name came to me

"Are you… Spher?" whispering her name lightly, in hope of it being who she thinks it is.

She turned her head slowly towards me, as she was sitting on the ground, with her knees on the floor and her legs facing outward. We made eye contact, it was as if the world around us had disappeared. The girl, who was sitting idly in front of me, had a stream of tears coming down her face from the moment she looked at me. ''You are… VEESHA!"

There was silence as the wind calmly blew through our hair. The tears stopped as those slowly turned into a big smile on both of our faces.

Ten minutes later, we've just been looking at the plains that seemed endless while pointing things out.

"So… Spher, what and where are we?" I asked her with a tilted head.

Spher chuckled.

"I honestly have no clue where we might be, to be frank with you, I don't recall knowing any locations, I thought you might know something but… alas."

Spher continued. "What are we… huh…" Spher jumped a bit as it seemed like something had just come to her. Spher looked at herself and then looked at me, "I think… I'm Human, and Veesha, You are of the Demon race…"

I looked at her, and it finally came to me, it seems this is what happened to Spher just now.

My name is Veesha, I appear to be... Demon race, and that is Spher, she's a Human. And this world has more major races. Such as Elves and Dwarves, dragons too, but there aren't too many of those.

On the outside, Spher was looking with confusion at me as I thought heavily, trying to collect more knowledge, but Spher knew because that's what she did before.

"Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Demons, Dragons, and Demi-Humans… Such big categories with such variety in the kinds of people…" I said as I looked at Spher, it seems she caught up as well.

Some time passes…

"Wait, what do I even look like?" I asked Spher.

"Well, let me think… You look stupid! Just kidding." Spher chuckled as she started describing my appearance.

Veesha, a Demon, has complete natural tan-like skin, red eyes, and silver-white hair that glistens in the Sun.

She is about 173 centimeters tall and weighs about 56 kilos. C cups..

She appears as a young demon girl with tanned skin common to her race, along with crimson red eyes that seem to glow in strange symbols and bright white hair.

She wears a white blouse with silver linings around her arms, a red ribbon tied to a gem sits on her bosom as it slightly twinkles in a silver glow.

A black skirt also hangs on her lower waist, filled with similar silver lines. Beneath that is a pair of stockings that runs down to her feet.

"That's about it, I guess," Spher said as she finished. It's my turn to describe Spher now…

Spher is a human girl with silver hair and eyes, which seems to hold a strange symbol if peered into deep enough. D cups..

A white half-jacket hangs over her upper body with golden stripes, a similar gem attached to a badge that shines in a bright red hue.

A black dress sits beneath this jacket, more golden stripes running down along it as it reaches down to her lower legs.

Spher has long, silver hair. It extends to back length from behind and to chest length from the front. She is about 177 centimeters tall and weighs about 63 kilos.

"I see I see." Spher said, having a smug smile on her face.

I wondered what now? Where do we go? These plains seem endless, but can we just keep walking until we find something? Now that I mention it, I still haven't gotten hungry.

"Spher aren't you hungry?" I asked her as she was quick to respond "No?"

"You're a human, tho?" I was getting more confused about if we are really normal.

"Yes, so what? I'm not hungry, and I don't feel like I'll need to eat for at least another month."

We both laughed at each other as I walked to the edge of a small grassy hill and pointed as the sun was currently going under. "So Spher, what do you say? Want to explore this unknown world with me?"

Spher smiled at me as she walked closer. "I couldn't imagine a world without you, Veesha.

I don't have much of a choice now, do I?"

And so, Veesha and Spher started walking in the direction of the sun, in their journey to find out more about this world and themselves.

Instead, you offered and volunteered yourself willingly for it, so I expect that you’ll be confident enough to share a bath with your husband,” Nikolai confidently stated. “After all, we’ll do more than this soon enough.” Shameless… Preventing herself from rolling her eyes, she managed to give him a smile as she said, “Don’t blame me if you die on me then.” **** Note: Volume 1: Main Story Status - Completed (Chapters 1 to 403) Volume 2: Side Story Status - Completed (Chapters 404 to 472) Volume 3: Side Story Status - Completed (Chapters 473 to 491) **** PS: Commissioned Book Cover owned by the Author! It's a pretty good novel so far about two girls exploring a world that is pretty much unknown to them. This world is slowly unraveled over time as the story progresses, and tidbits of lore continue to get added upon from the initial exposition. It's something that goes along with the premise of the story, and it's built on it quite nicely. The characters are quite memorable, especially the main ones and their backgrounds. Heck, the origins of this world (which is aligned with them) is quite unique, and I've never read anything like it. It's not perfect, of course. Don't expect this novel to be a masterpiece with no tropes, and let's agree, there is no such thing. There are also some issues of slow pacing, especially around the part where one of the main characters enters an academy, but that may be just to hammer in the details of the part. It was actually quick before this, time-skipping for some time in just a few chapters. There are also some characters that aren't expanded upon much (yet, I think), and I hope they are explored more down the line. In any case, don't let these stop you from reading it. It's still quite a good one to spend some time on to enjoy. In summary, if you want a medieval fantasy novel with a world that is being explored as the story progresses, with unforgettable main protagonists that share origins with the said world, as well as unique ideas interconnected with each other, then this might be for you. It's not a long read as it currently is, but it has great potential. Looking forward to read more chapters!
