Chapter 5 | New Leader

Back at the camp.

As we made our way back into camp, we saw wells and Murphy fighting it out. The delinquents were surrounding them.

"Wells! Let him go." Clarke said to wells, as he held a knife to Murphy's throat. Wells let him go and pushed him out the way, but Murphy ran after him with murderous intent but Bellamy stopped him.

"Where's the food" Bellamy said as he walked to Octavia to support her , because she was bitten in the thigh by that snake.

There is none I said. I was attacked.

"By what"

not by what, but by whom. We are not the only ones on the ground.

"It's true" Clarke elaborated, "everything that We thought we knew about the earth was wrong, there are people here. The good news is that means we can survive too. The radiation won't kill us."

But the grounders will, max was speaking, like I said I fought one of them. And there way more experienced than we are in combat, plus they've been here for, we don't know how long. But the grounder that I fought wasn't an enemy, that means we have a chance to negotiate with them.

Yeah he's right Clarke said as she looked at Wells's arm, his wristband was not on it.

"Wells Where's your wrist band"

"Ask him" wells said looking at Bellamy. "How many have you taken," "24 and counting, Murphy said smugly."

"You idiots! Clarke yelled clearly mad, the life support on the ark is failing. That's why they brought us to the ground. They need to know that the ground is survivable again. And we need their help against who ever is out there, if you take your wristbands off you're not just killing them, your killing us."

"We're stronger than you think. Don't listen to her. She's one of the privileged. If they come down, she'll have it good. How many of you can say the same? We can take care of ourselves. That wristband on your arm? It makes you a prisoner. We are not prisoners anymore! They say they'll forgive your crimes. I say you're not criminals! You're fighters, survivors! The Grounders should worry about us!"

I've had enough of this, Max thought in his head.

"Nice speech Bellamy, you know I'd have been fooled." I said as I approached the center of the delinquents. "You all cannot survive out here on your on, at least as you are now. You have no weapons, you don't know how to fight, you don't have any food. How are you going to survive.

Moreover, living in the wilderness comes with its own set of dangers. There are wild animals, harsh weather conditions, and various other natural hazards that can put your lives in danger.

Without proper training and knowledge, it's almost impossible to survive in such an environment.

Not to mention, there are the grounders out there who could pose a threat to your safety. You need to be prepared to defend yourselves if you want to survive in this world, I said and the delinquents seemed to be moved by that.

Therefore, it's crucial that you start working together and learn how to acquire the necessary skills to survive. You need to learn how to hunt, fish, and gather food. You need to know how to build shelter, start a fire, and purify water.

You need to be able to identify and avoid potential dangers, and also know how to defend yourselves if needed.

I understand that you might have been comfortable living in the safety and security of the Ark, even though you were in prison, but now that you're here, you need to adapt and be resilient. You need to work together and rely on each other to survive. It won't be easy, but if you stick together and stay focused, you can make it through anything."

"Yeah and how are we going to do this stuff, you must know how since you're talking about it." A random delinquent chimed in. Everyone was looking at me expectantly, except for Bellamy he looked worried, probably because I'm going to take his leadership position.

Well anyone who wants to learn to survive here, come to me. And for those of you who feel more comfortable staying with Bellamy, that's completely understandable.

As I finished talking more than half of the group split up, even Octavia leaving only Bellamy's goons on his side. I could see the disappointment on his face.

"Alright first things first, We need to gather wood so we can fortify the camp, any volunteers. 20 of the 100 volunteered. We need 10 big logs and the rest medium size can you guys do that" "yeah" said the volunteers. "Thanks guys" After that was done I walked toward Bellamy to have a talk.

After the talk with Bellamy he was a lot more friendly and receptive.

We talked about how I could help him, because he shot the chancellor, I told him that I knew who wanted the chancellor dead, and that I could save him from execution when the ark inevitably does come down here.

We made a deal he would give up his leadership of the 100 willingly, in exchange that I help him stay alive.
