6 Chapter 6 | Preparations and Acid Fog

"what are we supposed to do now" Clarke asked as we were in a Makeshift tent that was now our meeting place. Me, Clarke, Monty, Octavia, Bellamy, Finn, and Wells were there.

"Well we need to gather food somehow, what do we have now"

"Berries and a little bit of fish" Bellamy replied. "I see me and you are going hunting with your subordinates. Wells you aced botanists class didn't you. "Yeah the best on the ark" Wells said. I

Figured, you Clarke and Finn go gather any kind Of medicinal plants that will help us. Take a weapon also just in case." As we were about to leave Octavia stopped us "wait what about me and Monty"

"Monty you work on getting some kind of communication to the ark.

And Octavia. Mmm what work could I give her, I know that she was good at fighting and leadership in the show, well I do need someone to look over the building of the walls. "You look over the construction of the walls, is that good for you"

Octavia nodded in agreement, a determined look in her eyes. "I can handle that," she said.

With our tasks assigned, we set off to work. Bellamy went to go get his subordinates, while I went to go get my spear, then we met up and headed out.

[In the forest]

"Shh guys it's a boar Bellamy you got this one." I said to Bellamy and the group. "so far we have hunted 5 rabbits and 2 snakes I'd say that's pretty good for the first hunt." I thought as Bellamy approached the boar slowly with his axe in hand, then he must've heard something because he turned around and threw his axe, it hit a tree.

Go get it! I said to the group which consisted of Atom Murphy and some other delinquents. and they sprinted off.

"who the h**l are you?" Bellamy said as he approached the girl that made that sound.

"Charlotte" the little girl said.

"I almost killed you. Why aren't you back at camp?

The girl didn't say anything and just stayed silent.

"there's grounders out here. It's too dangerous for a little girl" atom said.

"I'm not little" charlotte returned.

"Okay then…"

"But you can't hunt without a weapon. Ever killed something before? Bellamy said as he handed her a small knife.

"No"

"Who knows maybe your good at it."

"Hey Bellamy it's time to return back to the camp, we have enough food for a couple days." I said as I walked up to Bellamy Charlotte and Atom.

"Mmm that's the girl that killed, Wells and then killed herself out of guilt, I don't want such a thing to happen, but I don't know what's gonna happen to the plot if I stop Wells's death, something to think about for the future me."

[scene change with Clarke Finn and Wells]

"Guys look, red seaweed" wells said as he pointed at the river that the snake that bit Octavia was in.

"Yeah what medicinal properties does it have" Finn inquired

"The carbohydrates found in red marine algae help prevent or reduce hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, skin inflammation, dry skin disorders, and skin cancer. The presence of vitamin A and vitamin C also provide antimicrobial and skin brightening effects. We can use it as a poultice though."

"Wow I understood nothing you just said" Finn said sarcastically.

"What he means is we can use it to cover up wounds" Clarke simplified the explanation.

"Hey, that thing that bit Octavia, how big was it?" Wells inquired

"Big. We could rig this into some kind of a net. Finn was saying as he took a backpack from his back. Find something to lower it into the water."

"Or we could just do that" he said as Clarke just walked into the water nonchalantly.

"Clarke starts grabbing the red seaweed and then walks back to the shore with it, as a large flock of birds come flying right over the group, they ducked to avoid injury."

"We need to get out of here" wells said. As the sudden sound of a horn bellowed in the distance.

"Grounders?"

"It could be a war cry."

"Or a warning" Finn said as he looked up in shock, to see a giant cloud of yellow fog.

"What the hell is that?" Wells said

"Run. Run!" Clarke said as they took off away from the yellow fog. into the woods.

"Clarke run!" Finn said as he opened the door to the car buried in the ground, that they found earlier.

Clarke got in first then wells and finally Finn. When they got in the car, fog was seeping in so they had to seal any openings with towels.

[scene change with MC and Bellamy's group]

"Come on! There are caves this way." Bellamy said as he grabbed Charlottes arm, as we got close to the cave me and atom got separated from the group.

Look, there's a cave!" I exclaimed, pointing towards the dark opening in the rocky terrain. But as Atom rushed towards it, he tripped and fell, injuring his ankle. Without hesitation, I hurried back to help him up, supporting his weight as we made our way towards the cave.

As we entered the cave, a thick yellow fog rolled in outside the cave.

We sat down to allow Atom to recover from the shock of his fall and to assess his injury.

"Thanks, I would've been toast if you hadn't saved me."

"No problem, so what were you in for." I said trying to get to know him more, since he died early on. "What do you mean" Adam inquired.

"What crime did you commit to get sent down here"

"Oh that, theft" "Really what did you steal" I inquired. "Medicine it was for my Mother, she had the flu. And since my father died I had to steal it. But I got caught and locked up in the skybox for 2 years, well until this."

[A/N Couldn't find any background on atom]

"I see that's unfortunate, do you know what happened to your Mother?, you don't have to answer if you don't want to."

"no it's good really, I don't know what happened to my Mother, she didn't visit me in the skybox, I hope she's okay."

"I'm sure she's doing fine"I said to comfort him.

"Anyway what did you do, you don't seem like a bad guy to me." Atom said.

"I stole some food, I know pitiful right I've been locked up since I was 16 years old, but it was a good thing I had books to keep me company"

After a while, we decided to explore the cave together, taking cautious steps through the darkened space. The walls were damp and slippery, and we had to be careful not to slip and fall.

As we moved deeper into the cave, our eyes adjusted to the darkness and we could make out faint shapes and shadows. The air inside the cave was cooler and less humid, making it a refreshing change from the outside world.

We walked for a while, when we came to a stop where we saw two big metal doors.
