SUSPICIONS.

Helen POV.

Louis hasn't been home for the past two to three days and I was becoming worried.

"Don't worry, we'll find him." Andy his best friend and head of security said over the phone.

"I can also help in finding him," I suggested.

"Helen, you should stay at home, and if any strange number calls, don't pick up."

"Why? They could be the ones with Louis."

"I know that's why you shouldn't pick it up."

"I am confused."

"There's no need for you to worry. Just let us do our job."

"Okay, I wouldn't pick any call but make sure to bring Louis home."

"Sure. I must go now." He said before dropping the call.

Not long after Andy called, my phone began ringing and without me looking at the caller's ID, I picked up.

"Helen." A male's voice came in.

"Finally you called. Where the hell have you been? I tried our usual spot but you were nowhere to be found and neither was your number going through."

"Calm down, Helen. While you were there enjoying yourself, I have been around town looking for clues."

"Clues? We don't need any clues since we now have him, right?" I asked lowering my voice.

"Why does it take you so long to understand?"

"Understand what? What do you mean that I don't understand when we have him where we need him."

"That is where you've got it all wrong. We don't have him yet, someone beat us to it before we could make our move."

"I thought you were the one who sent Nate."

"No, I didn't. I think that Nate has always had it in mind to do this."

"If one of his workers can betray him, how many more enemies does he have?"

"What else can you expect from a person like Louis Vale?" He chuckled softly.

"This means we don't need to bother about him and move on to the next phase of the plan." I smiled.

"I don't think so yet." He said unsure.

"What do you mean?"

"For what reason did Nate choose to do this to Louis? At least he must have been triggered by something or someone. These would be the thoughts going through his sneaky security head's mind."

"Sure but why are we concerned by his thoughts?"

"Remember that Nate can't be alone in this he has other people helping him, thereby making everyone a suspect, including you."

"Me?"

"It wasn't long after you entered the house that the nanny went missing followed by Louis."

"What are you trying to say?" I asked as fear crept slowly into me.

"What I am saying is that you can be a major suspect and before you know it you are back in the streets."

"But I haven't done anything."

"Yeah I know but that's what they don't know and it could go on for days."

"Please tell me, what should I do?" I asked panicking.

"What you just need to do is to lie low till this whole madness dies down while I take care of the remaining."

"You mean I should suspend the whole plan."

"Just for a few days."

"I'll do just that but you must also be careful."

"Sure, I'll talk to you later, bye," he said before he cut the call and I left the room to go outside so I could have a clear head.

On getting outside, instead of relief I became terrified as I met with unsmiling security, who was stationed to guard the house in case of danger. Walking around, I began to think, what if we were later caught, what would become of me?

"Miss. Helen?" Someone called from behind me, which made me jump as I was already very deep in my thoughts. As I turned back, I met with Elijah, one of the securities who was very close to Andy.

"Yeah."

"I am sorry if I startled you but Andy asked me to give you this." He said as he gave me a small envelope before leaving.

With shaking hands, I opened the envelope and a bracelet fell off with a sheet of paper. Confused I opened the paper and it read;

I went in search of Kylie and I don't know when I'll be back. In order not to keep you anxious, I told Andy to give them to you and I hope you like them. Don't miss me too much and I'll be back before you know it.

Raising the bracelet, I realized it had the K and V symbol and I smiled before I placed it back in the envelope before going back inside the house.

Kylie and I had been tied together for God know how many hours and I was beginning to think why I didn't come with corps. I was lost in my thoughts when I heard someone sniff.

"Kylie is that you?" I asked as I turned my head in her direction.

"Yeah." She sniffed again.

"Don't cry. We'll get out of here soon, I promise."

"What if we later end up dead?" She sobbed.

"How sure are you that we won't come out alive? Do you not trust me?"

"I do but what can you do when tied up."

"Even when tied up, I can still have my way."

"Really?" She asked and I noticed the sarcasm in her voice. "We are dead. Louis, dead is what we are."

"Kylie, no..."

"Don't stop me. I regret that I am unable to get joined with my love before I die." She laughed dryly. " He had been so good and nice to me even though he doesn't know he's the one."

"Why can't you tell him?" I asked confused.

"In this world, it is believed that the lady must first be approached by the guy so this makes it impossible for me. Moreover, I'm not sure he remembers me as he had another person in his life."

"He must be blind not to see you." I paused. "I must confess, even though I still love Helen I have checked you out on different occasions," I said and I looked at her to see colors raise on her cheeks. "You look even cuter when you blush," I said and she giggled.

"You don't have to flatter me because I know you are trying to take my mind off the fact that we are about to die."

"I am not trying to get you flattered, I'm just telling you the facts. I wish I had known you earlier because I could have even gotten you engaged with me."

"But you now have Helen by your side."

"About her." I paused. " I have my doubts, she doesn't behave like the childhood love I had once known."

"I don't understand, how does she behave in the past?"

"All I remember is that she had been open about her worries in the past but she no longer speaks to me about issues like that, instead I believe that she is hiding something from me."

"Maybe she has changed?"

"This is beyond change. I mean I don't think she is truly who I thought her to be."

"I'm confused."

"It is a long story and I'm not sure if you want to hear it."

"Since this could be our last time together, I think I will be very willing to hear it."

"I'll try to cut it short." I looked at her before I began. "I had amnesia due to an accident I had in the past, so most of my memory was wiped and I was told that some memories would take a long time, which the memories of my childhood and life in the orphanage were also included but I had a picture of a little girl, who I also didn't remember and I with me ever since then. But when I saw you that morning in my house, I had begun to have some of the memories back but the girl's face was blurred and my mind would mostly go back to the picture. Then I began to feel that the girl in the picture but my childhood love who I had met in the orphanage so I informed Martin about it and he began the process of finding her, which you know how later turned out. I had been so happy to find Helen but when you were kidnapped she began to bad-mouth you and say that you ran away with Ryan and I began to feel bad not until Nate called me."

"Nate? The chauffeur who had taken me from the airport?" She asked shocked.

"Yeah, you don't know?"

"Hell no. In the days that u have been here I have seen the faces of Ryan and the thugs but not of Nate. What did I do to him?"

"Well, I don't know but I think that he and Ryan struck a deal."
